The Wicked Female Is Wild and Scheming, Living in a Love Battlefield Every Day-Chapter 31: What Are Your Intentions?
She casually gnawed on two wild fruits for breakfast, considering it her weight-loss plan.
"Ding! Congratulations, host, you’ve successfully lost 5 pounds."
The system’s voice suddenly echoed in her mind.
Luna Sutton was slightly taken aback, realizing what the system was saying, a slight smile curled on her lips.
Lost 5 pounds, huh?
Not bad at all.
From yesterday until now, she’s been busy without a break, eating little. It’s no wonder she’s losing weight.
She glanced down at the rolls of fat around her waist, her extremely large hips, and her legs thicker than an elephant’s...
Her arms were also particularly thick, indescribably so.
Anyway, she looked like a moving small mountain.
Losing 5 pounds with her current body shape was hardly noticeable at all.
It’s estimated she would need to lose at least 50 pounds for it to be noticeable.
She said nothing and turned to take the mushrooms and herbs she picked yesterday to the riverbank to wash, preparing to dry them for later use.
Fresh mushrooms and herbs are not easy to store, so they naturally need to be processed as soon as possible.
She carried two large baskets to the riverbank.
One basket was filled with various mushrooms, the other with various herbs.
Each type of herb was tied up with vines to prevent them from mixing together and becoming indistinguishable.
When Luna Sutton reached the riverbank, there were already many females washing animal skins by the river, as well as some washing their faces or grooming themselves with reflections in the water.
She immediately spotted Maya Miller not far away, crouching by the river’s edge, grooming herself, with a pink wildflower tucked into her hair swaying in the breeze.
Although it seemed a bit rustic, it also had a kind of unique charm.
Wolf Fang sat on a large stone nearby, holding a bone knife, and polishing it with a piece of palm-sized animal skin.
Yet his eyes kept glancing at Maya Miller, with a joyful smile on his lips.
Though Maya was grooming, she also kept glancing at Wolf Fang, with a shy, bashful look, her cheeks slightly rosy.
The two were exchanging looks, clearly something was going on between them.
Luna Sutton clicked her tongue twice, wondering if Mia knew that the two were sneaking around in secret, would she be furious?
She shook her head; she wasn’t inclined to meddle in others’ affairs.
She then withdrew her gaze, taking her baskets downstream to wash.
Several females washing animal skins by the river glanced at her, slightly curling their lips.
But soon after, their gaze fell on the baskets in her hands, slightly taken aback.
They saw these items yesterday and knew they were called baskets, used for carrying things.
They heard from returning hunters that Luna Sutton made them.
Though they found it hard to believe Luna could make such exquisite things, since all the beastmen said so, it must be true.
These baskets were incredibly convenient for carrying things, and they really wanted one too, not knowing if Luna Sutton was willing to teach them how to make it.
The females exchanged glances, placing down the half-cleaned animal skins in their hands and walked over.
As they walked closer, they saw the mushrooms inside the basket, various kinds of mushrooms.
There was another basket beside it, filled entirely with herbs, and the females were instantly bewildered.
Bringing back poisonous mushrooms was one thing, but she also brought back so many herbs.
Is she crazy?
Luna Sutton naturally noticed the females approaching, glanced at them, and said indifferently, "What’s up?"
The females exchanged another look.
Finally, a bolder-looking female spoke, "Luna Sutton, those... mushrooms in your basket, do you really intend to eat them?"
They heard last night that Luna Sutton had picked a lot of mushrooms and was confidently claiming they weren’t poisonous. Even the leader went along with her nonsense, allowing her to bring them back to the tribe.
Luna Sutton’s gaze fell on the female’s face. She recognized her, Belle Summers, who was pretty, diligent, capable, well-liked, and had six beast husbands, already bearing several children.
She nodded slightly, "Of course, what else would I pick them for?"
Seeing the shocked expressions of Belle Summers and the other nearby females, looking at her as if she were a lunatic,
she gave a slight smile, unconcerned, just explaining, "I know everyone generally thinks mushrooms are poisonous. Indeed, some mushrooms are poisonous and should not be touched. But not all mushrooms are poisonous; the ones I picked are non-poisonous and edible."
As soon as she finished speaking, there was a silence all around.
Belle Summers and the other females exchanged incredulous glances.
Some mushrooms are non-poisonous? Edible? They had never heard of that.
In their knowledge, mushrooms were all poisonous; how could there be non-poisonous mushrooms?
If some mushrooms are indeed non-poisonous, then how does Luna Sutton identify which ones are poisonous and which aren’t?
Just as they were pondering this, a mocking voice sounded, "Ha, Luna Sutton, stop deceiving everyone here. If these mushrooms aren’t poisonous, then no mushrooms in the beast world are, so why is everyone so keen to avoid them?"
Luna Sutton frowned, looking toward the source of the voice.
It was Mia, who had arrived at the riverbank unnoticed.
Mia approached, her eyes full of jealousy, mockingly saying, "Luna Sutton, I know you want to change everyone’s opinion of you, but you shouldn’t joke about everyone’s lives. These mushrooms are clearly poisonous, yet you mislead everyone saying they aren’t. What’s your motive?"
Starting the morning with trouble, it’s truly annoying, like a fly in an outhouse, this Mia.
Her face slightly cold, Luna looked at Mia, speaking coldly, "Whether these mushrooms are poisonous or not, I’m well aware, I don’t need you making a fuss here."
Mia was retorted, her face growing uglier, "Luna Sutton, you’re talking nonsense, these mushrooms are clearly poisonous, yet you claim they aren’t. I believe you’re deliberately trying to harm everyone."
Luna Sutton was angered, her expression icy, too lazy to argue with Mia, directly ignoring her.
Focusing her gaze on Belle Summers and the other females and beastmen by the river, she gently said, "These mushrooms aren’t really poisonous. If you don’t believe me, you can each take some to the witch doctor to examine and see if they’re poisonous or not."
Since they came back late yesterday, these mushrooms haven’t been checked by the witch doctor yet. It’s understandable that everyone is doubtful.
The females and beastmen present exchanged glances upon hearing her.
Seeing her open demeanor and clear eyes, and considering she awakened the Wood Element ability, while the tribe’s witch doctor also had the Wood Element ability, their doubts eased a bit.
But since it concerned everyone’s safety, a few females took some mushrooms from the basket and left. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Clearly going to the witch doctor to confirm whether the mushrooms were poisonous or not.
Luna Sutton wasn’t bothered, these mushrooms truly weren’t poisonous anyway.
Mia, seeing Luna’s confident demeanor, felt a surge of anger, ready to toss a few more barbs but noticed Wolf Fang not far away.
Seeing him standing there enjoying the show without stepping up to support her, her face turned even more sour.
Yet she didn’t overthink, assuming he was still mad because she denied him last night.
She pursed her lips, her expression full of ridicule.
Growing bold enough to show attitude, it seems someone needs a firmer hand.
She planned to deny Wolf Fang any favors for the next month, until he couldn’t take it anymore and came begging.
Mia cast an angry glance at Luna Sutton, snorted coldly, and turned to leave.
Passing by Maya, she sensed something off about her sister today, but couldn’t pinpoint what exactly.
She just felt that her sister’s gaze was somewhat guilty when looking at her.
She paused, squinted her eyes to scrutinize Maya, her gaze sharp.
She had never paid her sister much attention before, but noticed now that her sister was actually quite good-looking.
Actually starting to dress up, with a pink flower in her hair, adding a splash of color, and having a unique charm.
She was instantly displeased.
She never had a good impression of attractive females in the tribe, even if it was her sister.
