Chapter 76 -75: The River of the Ice Witch and the Princess of Alsace_1
Ivita hopped off the chariot, his footprints scorching the muddy earth beneath him.
He started running towards the stream they had just passed.
As he ran past, the leaves of the trees nearby began to curl, as if they were going to ignite the next moment.

The four apprentice blacksmiths on the carriage behind, seeing their lord suddenly running back, urgently halted the two old horses pulling their carriage, hesitating as to whether they should follow their lord’s direction.
The coachman apprentice appeared puzzled. “Why did the Lord run off?”
“Run? How do you talk? The Lord must have had his own business.” The three apprentice craftsmen in the carriage immediately criticised him.
The horse-pulling apprentice was a young man a little older than Ivita, dressed in cloth. He covered his mouth, realizing his mistake.
“What do we do now?”
The Demon Hunter Black Wolf in the front carriage shouted at them: “We continue towards Parviga, without waiting for the Lord.”
“Prince Ivita said before, he’d catch up later.”
“We’ll regroup in Parviga.”
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the Old Witch catching up with Ivita.
This was Ivita’s command before he got off the carriage.
Definitely, right now, everybody on the territory was waiting for him to sell the cast iron to earn money to be distributed as their wages.
Ivita did not expect that his studies in magic would elongate a four-day matter to a few weeks.
Thus, the carriages continued onwards.
Meanwhile, the three magic spells, now independent of the book, began to converge into Ivita’s retina.
The high temperature caused his clothes to begin burning.
Ivita felt he was about to run naked.
Fortunately, because of his Fire Dragon Bloodline, he seemed immune to high temperatures, even some ordinary flames.
By the time he rushed into the stream, his body was already on fire. Had anyone been observing from afar, they would have assumed he was self-immolating.
Ivita plunged into the stream and soaked himself. Most of the flames were instantly extinguished, but flames sprung anew from his retinas.
These flames bizarrely twisted like intertwined snakes of fire, and the sparse water in the stream quickly dried up.
Ivita felt the temperature on the surface of his body increasing.
The three magics were forcibly crushed and compounded, and the energy produced in the process was constantly being released from the surface of his body.
Ivita quickly realized, that if this was to continue, even with his Fire Dragon Bloodline, he would burn to death from the high temperature.
His five pieces of jewellery were surprisingly intact, possibly due to their magical properties.
However, his ordinary clothes had been incinerated. While it didn’t matter at this point, as he was already covered in flames which acted as his clothing.
After the Old Witch ran over, she gasped, “Magical flames!”
“These are not ordinary flames, normal water cannot extinguish magical flames! Did the magic fusion go wrong?”
“If this continues, your mortal body will not be able to bear it.”
“What should we do? What should we do?”
If his body were to be destroyed, how angry would the Demon God be?
Would the Demon God’s anger affect her?
The Old Witch anxiously contemplated, what should she do?
Ivita was ceaselessly attempting to control these flames, but the flames on his retinas intensified, like a ‘fire demon’ seeking to destroy everything.
The flames were even stealing his memories.
In the depths of memory, the image of the Golden Raven from Chinese legends merged with the flame.
Ivita suddenly thought of a phrase often uttered by the Old Witch, that all magic has its risks and prices to be paid.
So, is this the risk she has to bear now?
Ivita felt some regret, but she couldn’t blame herself.
Because magic inherently encompasses many secrets, and the Hearthstone Grand Witch has always assumed she was a Demon God, never divulging many details, and significant points for novices.
Therefore, it’s not strange for this to happen.
The first magic fusion went almost smoothly, who would have known that such an incident would occur the second time?
Actually, she had one more method, to take off the magical item from her body, deliberately causing an imbalance in her energy, allowing her transformation into a dragon, or a Titan form, or a giant wolf form. Although the outcome is uncertain, it can definitely withstand the energy dissipated from the magic fusion.
However, the consequences of doing so are also unknown.
She didn’t know, by doing this, whether she could wake up again.
Unexpectedly, a massive wave washed over, Ivita turned her head and astonishingly found that the dried creek had given rise to surging water, turning the creek into a river.
The wave crashed against her, reducing the magical flame on Ivita significantly.
This water was unusual.
Ivita felt a continuous chill crawling under her skin from the water.
By the riverbank, the Old Witch sighed a breath of relief, beside her laid ritual drawing eerily similar to those used by the Druid Priests.
The Hearthstone Grand Witch said, “As expected, all the rivers in Ambros, even the streams, are connected to the snow mountains – the source of the river from the Alps. I can simulate the Druid’s rituals and borrow the Ice Witch’s ice magical power from the snow mountains to suppress the fire magic on Ivita.”
She saw some of the residual flames still burning on Ivita submerged under the water. She was slightly taken aback, “Even without control, suppressed by me, the Ice Witch and the river, it can still burn. This is definitely not ordinary fire magic. What kind of magic did Ivita fuse with?”
Ivita was submerged in the water, her consciousness blurring, as if she saw a woman in a black wedding dress, in a sunlight-deprived chamber, staring at a flame.
“I stole a bit of the Thousand-Year Fire from the Ambros Plains. The amount is small; no one will notice.”
“The process of studying the Thousand-Year Fire allowed me to discover its tremendous secret. So, even if someone found out that I had stolen the flame, I could say that my research was to prevent the Thousand-Year Fire from extinguishing one day.”
“Looking at the current findings, the Thousand-Year Fire has nearly been extinguished more than once.”
“How was this problem previously resolved? Not every time someone may have found its secret. The professional levels in Viscount Ambros Country are getting lower and lower, and sooner or later, they will lose control of their own country’s law.”
A tear rolled down the woman’s eye. “Oh flame, carry my hatred.”
“Turn into a man-eating serpent…”
“Devour everyone in the hall, devour the priest, guests, husband and wife, devour the faithless man, devour the King, devour everyone, devour the law of Alsace, become the most profound, most wicked flame…”
The Thousand-Year Fire, or the magic flame transformed by this Alsatian Princess, gradually darkened, and a massive Fire Magic Snake was born from it.
“A drop of the Sin Tribe’s fresh blood, this is the gravest sin in the world, the serpent that absorbs it will devour all my enemies.”
The Alsatian Princess reached out her hand without changing expression, slit her middle finger with a dagger.
“Who?”
She suddenly turned to look behind her, but only saw an empty chamber. “Ah, I know who you are.”
“It seems that someone among my descendants still retains some merit. You met my invented magic while studying Fire Magic, so now you are retracing my path?”
“Heh heh… Unfortunately, I have nothing to teach you. The only things here are my disappointment in love, my hatred towards men, my self-destructive inclination, perverse logic, and wrongful paths.”
“I advise you not to learn my magic, as there is nothing good.”
Ivita was taken aback. She was the Alsatian Princess the Old Witch often spoke of.
That series of Fire Snake magic should have all been her creation.
After a flash of dazzling firelight.
Ivita’s consciousness slowly regained, her senses rapidly gathered, she realized she was underwater, and hence began to swim upward.
