The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system-Chapter 214: New tricks for an old dog.
Caishen looked into Alix's unhappy eyes and he chuckled. He had managed to weasel twenty five percent of the shares of Yuwen high out of her. He did so deliberately because he wanted her to feel comfortable later on when he unveiled the other properties which he planned to buy around the school.
She was looking at him with sad puppy eyes which almost tugged at his heartstrings so he looked away from her eyes and let go of her hands.
"Are you unhappy with me?" he asked her.
She twisted her lips, forming a pout and glared at him.
"Hmph." she responded.
"What if I promise to give you all my available resources to help you expand the school as much as you wish?" he asked.
"Hmph." Was the sound which came out of her. She even turned and gave him her back.
Her reactions made him smile even more because they made her more endearing to him. Perhaps this was why the women of the Tai family called her pretty baby. She was pretty and acted like a child at times. Also, lately she had this new perfume that held a whiff of baby powder. Just catching her scent was enough to make someone smile.
He leaned forward and asked in a low voice, "What if I kiss you?"
She turned around to express her shock and say it was never happening but he was quick. He reached out, grabbed her head and pulled her face towards his. Then, he kissed her on the tip of her nose.
He let go of her with a satisfied smile on his face. Alix, with wide expressive eyes that portrayed disbelief covered her nose with her right hand.
"What?" he asked her.
"Thief. You are a kiss thief." she pointed at him and accused.
He giggled, touched her face and pulled her towards his body again. Since she had a hand over her nose which blocked her lips as well, he kissed her on the forehead and then let go of her with another satisfied smile on his face.
Her left hand moved up and she covered her forehead. "Thief." she accused again.
Caishen shrugged and a smug look came over his face. "You have only two hands which are occupied but two cheeks available. How do you plan to protect them?"
The two hands moved to her cheeks and she covered them.
Caishen laughed and he reached out again. He did not try to kiss her this time round but he hugged her gently. He put his head on one of her shoulders and laughed at himself. He had behaved a bit childishly but he enjoyed it. He certainly looked forward to teasing her more as they got along. He raised his head slightly and kissed her neck quickly.
"Oooh," she complained crabbily and pushed him away. "Behave, there are others around." she hissed at him.
"So when we are alone." he hinted by wiggling his eyebrows and blew a kiss at her.
Alix rolled her eyes and pointed at him. Her phone rung at that precise moment and she failed to berate him as she wanted.
The caller was unidentified but she answered anyway because it was not uncommon. Parents, students, anybody could call her for different reasons.
"Hello." she said in a polite voice.
"So this is still your old number. You actually dared to block your own father. Lin Alix, you seem to have grown too big for your britches." It was the angry voice of her father and he was as rude as ever.
"An old dog has learned new tricks I see." Alix replied.
"Hey, who are you calling a dog? Is that what you have been learning in the Zhang house, how to disrespect your father?" Lin Qianfan yelled.
When she was younger, that one yell could send her into shivers. Normally, a night of starvation would be waiting ahead for her at the end of his thunderous voice. Sometimes, it was a few days and her friends would bear the responsibility of feeding her as if she was a stray kitten. The only good thing Lin Qianfan ever did for her was provide her school tuition. She always got a satisfactory lunch at school at least.
"If the shoe fits." Alix replied. She had no kind words for him. He never had any for her.
"I don't have time to trade insults with you." he said. "You should come home on Friday next week because I have a very important announcement to make."
"I don't have a home with your family anymore Mr. Lin Qianfan." She said coldly. "If you need to see me, make an appointment with my assistant and meet me away from that hell hole. Oh, by the way, tell your wife to stop going around attacking people in public. The wife of Lin power holding's CEO fighting in public surely isn't good for the company's image."
She hung up immediately with a scorn on her face. Immediately, she blocked that number as well. There was no good reason for him to be calling her. Just hearing from him was enough to ruin her whole day. Her good mood had just been ruined by him.
Caishen could see that her mood had been soured and he took her hand in his. Slowly and gently, he started massaging her fingers as he waited for her to calm down. What were the odds that two people that came from families with issues ended up married to each other? The universe must have known that both needed someone to lean on so it threw them together.
"What does he want?"
Alix scoffed and replied, "To see me on Friday next week. Apparently he has a very important announcement to make. My guess is that it's related to Yuewei."
"Your illegitimate...sorry, i mean your
brother." he said. Alix seemed to like the boy so he got rid of the word illegitimate.

Alix nodded. "He must be preparing to officially bring Yuewei into the Lin family. I always had a feeling that this issue would end up becoming a legal battle. Lin Qianfan is not going to back down easily."
He patted her hand and tipped her chin upwards. Looking at her face, he said, "Don't worry, Jacob knows the best child custody lawyers. He will never get his hands on your brother. To be honest, your history alone is reason enough for any judge to rule that no child should ever be raised in that household."
Alix frowned when he mentioned her history and her eyes darkened in anger.
"If they need testimonies, I will gladly give them. Lin Qianfan doesn't deserve happiness."
She clenched her hands, squeezing Caishen's hands that were comforting her.
Even though it hurt, he didn't wince or push her away. She had a lot of anger buried deep inside of her that she needed to work out.
At this point, he wondered if therapy was a good option for her. It seemed to be helping Rongyan so maybe it could help her.
The car entered school grounds and he put that thought away temporarily. Later, perhaps he would make the suggestion.
His mind had already moved on to a different issue. It was a weekend, so why was the school littered with students?
