This Lich Requests More Remuneration-Chapter 166 - 153 Time Druid and Giant Dragon
Chapter 166: Chapter 153 Time, Druid and Giant Dragon
Chapter 166 -153 Time, Druid and Giant Dragon
“Naomi, what… what’s happening?”
Amberser, who had seen his share of wonders, had never come across a situation like this before. Wounds kept appearing and disappearing, yet Naomi seemed unaffected. Upon seeing Amberser, she even forced a smile for him.
But the little girl seemed to have lost the ability to speak and could only let the God of Alchemy speak for her.
“Let me briefly describe this dramatic process. You should remember, after you cast a Sleep Spell on Naomi, you left her at the top of Alchemy City’s high tower…”
As the God of Alchemy explained, Katherine couldn’t help but glance at Amberser. This Lich, who usually seemed decent, how could he do such a thing to a little Druid girl? What was he planning to do by bewitching a little girl?
But Katherine held Deities in high regard and dared not interrupt, instead she meekly hid to one side, listening to the God of Alchemy narrate Naomi’s story.
The matter, in fact, was not that complicated.
Naomi was initially offered up by her kin on the altar as the final sacrifice for their ascension to godhood.
The Druids who had raised her from childhood had done so solely with the aim of sacrificing her on the altar. From the moment she was born, everyone was nurturing her only to kill her, and Naomi had already broken down by then.
Amberser’s Sleep Spell merely gave her a brief respite, but when she woke up, she found herself exiled to the void just like Alchemy City.
In this shattered city, corpses were everywhere. Some were residents who had failed to escape in time, some were Paladins left by the Laine Empire, and the ones still moving were the lingering Undead.
Naomi had become numb. Tears no longer flowed from her eyes. After wandering aimlessly for a while, she arrived at the location shown by the prophecy—the Hall of Wisdom of Alchemy City, a sacred place.
All major decisions had been discussed in this very hall before being implemented.
Perhaps it was fate that brought Naomi there, where among the chaotically scattered archives, she discovered everything about herself.
She saw orders from the Chairman of the Alchemist Council himself, implementing that cruel and terrible plan.
Once again traumatized, Naomi lost all hope and committed suicide in the Hall of Wisdom.
The God of Alchemy said with a compassionate tone, “The young girl slit her own throat. She truly gave up hope then, without a moment’s hesitation.”
“What’s going on now, then?” asked Amberser, perplexed.
The God of Alchemy sighed and said, “Afterward, Garey Woz appeared. The Chairman saw Naomi’s corpse and cast a Wishing Spell on her, attempting to resurrect her.”
At this point, Naomi’s face finally showed some emotional fluctuation, an unmistakable hatred.
“Normally, the Wishing Spell could resurrect someone perfectly, but as you know, Garey Woz needed a huge amount of matter and energy as a price for casting a resurrection spell. Alchemy City had already performed a Wishing Spell for you, and the remnants were not enough to support a perfect resurrection spell. Garey Woz tried to cut a corner by turning back Naomi’s time by a few minutes, to a point before she had committed suicide.”
Amberser inquired with astonishment, “Does he think time reversal is just an ordinary temporal spell? Has he gone mad?”
While the Time Freeze spell could still be cast using a scroll, time stop and time reversal were not the same thing. Even reversing by a single second involved god-like power.
The God of Alchemy shook his head and said, “No, he’s not crazy because time and space in the void are chaotic, making time reversal much simpler. There are fewer restrictions than in the material plane. His calculations were not wrong—the effect did consume less. Unfortunately, he only thought about how the void reduces the consumption of temporal spells, but he did not consider the void’s effect on time itself.
“Presumably, this was also Garey Woz’s first visit to the void. The gods chose this place for his exile precisely because of its chaotic spacetime; apart from the gods, no one else could enter, nor could they leave. How could his casting of a time-based spell not be affected?
“As a result, Naomi became what she is now. The state of a few minutes before her death and her state after death overlapped, and now she’s as if she exists on two separate timelines simultaneously. Honestly, I’ve never seen such a case before.”
After hearing of Naomi’s ordeal, before Amberser could speak, Katherine couldn’t help but say, “Such a pitiful young girl.”
Katherine was not like Amberser, the Lich who had lost most of his humanity. After hearing about Naomi’s background, she could almost not stop her tears. How pitiful was the young girl, and how could there be such wicked people in the world to do such appalling things to their own kin?
Amberser, however, had no time for such sentiments; he was considering how Naomi might be of help to him.
If the God of Alchemy sent this young girl his way, could it be he believed Naomi could help him return to the past?
A Druid in a state of temporal overlap… really? This old fellow was quite creative indeed.
Just as Amberser was about to speak, the God of Alchemy laughed and said, “Haha, you’ve guessed it, right? Indeed, you are my smartest student. Correct, this young Druid girl, since she’s in a state of temporal overlap, means that the power of time still lingers on her. If she can master this force and merge it with the natural power of a Druid, she might be able to transform into a Time Dragon.”
The Time Dragon… just as Amberser thought.
Dragons are naturally powerful, but not every Giant Dragon is destined to become Legendary; their odds are just much higher than those of other races.
However, there are three types of dragons that are born Legendary, and the Time Dragon is one of them.
Time Dragons are incredibly rare, but also extremely powerful. True to their name, they can control the power of time.
Spells like Time Freeze and Acceleration Spell, which human mages expend a great deal of effort to cast, are as simple as drinking water for Time Dragons. They can even make these abilities into passive skills, maintaining a certain state of time forever.
Therefore, the strength of Time Dragons cannot be judged by their appearance. Their age and size are not necessarily related; they are the personification of the concept of time itself, making it almost impossible for anyone to kill a Time Dragon.
And the ability to rewind time to the past is one of the capabilities of the Time Dragon.
This gift, many Deities cannot match.
But a Druid wishing to become a Time Dragon? Under normal circumstances, it’s a delusion.

Druids can indeed transform into any beast, and theoretically, they could also turn into a Giant Dragon. However, transforming into a dragon does not mean they can wield the Dragon Race’s special abilities. At most, they’ll just be able to fly and breathe fire; many of the unique spells of the Dragon Race would remain unusable. Transforming into a regular Giant Dragon has its limits, let alone a Time Dragon… They might only resemble the scales’ color, but dreaming of mastering the power of time is out of the question.
If there weren’t such restrictions, then Druids would be the most powerful profession in the world.
But this rule only applies to ordinary Druids; Naomi is different. She now possesses the power of time, even though she can’t control it herself. As long as she can master this power within her and then learn the skill to transform into a dragon, it’s very likely she could become a real Time Dragon.
Even if it’s not a complete transformation, she should still be able to help Amberser go back to the past.
“Teacher, your idea is preposterous. Let’s not even discuss whether this conjecture could work; even if it could, how long would it take for Naomi to control the power of time within her? And how long would she need to learn how to transform into a dragon? Her skills as a Druid are only at a beginner level.”
Naomi is too young and her understanding of nature is insufficient. Transforming into a Black Panther is already her limit; it might take decades before she could transform into a Giant Dragon. By that time, it’d all be over.
Amberser couldn’t even cheat using his personal space because Naomi’s uncontrollable time power would clash with the time adjustment effect of his personal space, potentially blowing it up.
This idea is too unrealistic.
Yet, the God of Alchemy reached out and pointed at Katherine, then said, “Under normal circumstances, of course, there wouldn’t be enough time. But you, my boy, are like a pretty boy kept by the Goddess of Fate, and this Elf Queen here can help you solve this problem.”
Katherine was completely bewildered, unable to understand how this suddenly involved her.
Amberser, however, caught on quickly and said to Katherine, “You mentioned before, the Magic Dragon Tyrant left behind a Divine Artifact capable of reversing time.”
Katherine caught on too, saying in surprise, “Respected God of Alchemy, are you suggesting this artifact can help this young girl master the power of time, assisting her in becoming a Time Dragon?”
The God of Alchemy nodded and said, “I guess it should work, because the Magic Dragon Tyrant from back then, was indeed a Time Dragon.”
Amberser felt something was off and objected, “Time Dragons are born as Legends and are of a neutral alignment; how could one be a brutal Tyrant? That doesn’t fit their character at all.”
“Most Time Dragons are indeed like that, but there will always be individuals in every race who are different. Just like all humans in the Laine Empire worship the Lord of the Dawn, but aren’t there many brutal and unkind human Lords across the continent? You forget, most of the Alchemists in Alchemy City are also human, and compared to that Magic Dragon, their character isn’t much better,” the God of Alchemy replied.
The God of Alchemy detested those Alchemists who would discard their humanity for the sake of experimentation, regardless of their contributions to Alchemy. He would rather let his divine power decline than not punish these scoundrels.
Unfortunately, the God of Alchemy wasn’t heartless enough, harboring forgiveness for those madmen who pursued the truth by any means necessary, hoping they would strive to redeem themselves, which ultimately led to such a great disaster.
The God’s destruction of Alchemy City was, in fact, like the Elven Gods’ refusal to save the Elf Tribe; he sought to teach these children a lesson. It was just unfortunate that the God of Alchemy was not as formidable as the Elven Gods, and the destruction of Alchemy City severely damaged him.
Upon realizing she could also play a role, Katherine brightened up, but she soon looked toward Naomi. The young girl was being manipulated by the Deity like a puppet. Did she herself want to help? Besides, with the will of a Goddess, she probably had no choice but to comply.
Just as Katherine had this thought, she heard Amberser say to Naomi, “You heard what my teacher said. What do you say, willing to do me this favor?”
Katherine couldn’t help but see Amberser in a new light. Liches were said to be soulless, but Amberser seemed to share her thoughts, actually willing to ask for the young girl’s opinion.
Naomi couldn’t speak, but she nodded vigorously and then took out a piece of paper and quickly wrote down a message: “You’ve saved me many times. When everyone else was indifferent to whether I lived or died, you were willing to care for me. If you hadn’t put me to sleep that time, I might have gone insane. So, I am willing to do anything for you.”
After reading the words, Amberser revealed a small smile and said to Naomi, “Since you put it that way, would you like to become my contract partner?”
