This Princess is an Extra-Chapter 49: Soreil Tree
Drayce’s story had never been to Eli’s taste, so she had never bothered to read the novel. Still, because it was so wildly famous, she knew bits and pieces of it from here and there.
Those fans knew all the twist and turn of this novel, they would definitely be able to enjoy themselves without being tormented by that villain. As for me, AHHHH — I’m a major noob and only read it here and there once five years ago!.....So in order to escape this broken simluation I tried my last remaining option, that also failed, she though.
Then she looked to her right and saw the shimmering contract form. After letting out a heavy sigh, she raised her hand and clicked on it, finally deciding to give it a thorough read.
[CONTRACT: PEARLS OF THE DEVIL
Party A: Maximillian the Great!
Party B: Player No. 1 — Sera Kim, playing Elinessa Aurel.
1. For the story to commence, this contract must be signed by both the parties.
2. Tasks will be assigned to Party B immediately after signing of the contract.
3. All previous terms and conditions shall remain in effect, except:
• Time-skips are strictly prohibited.
• Party B cannot die and therefore cannot be transferred to the Nexus.
4. Party B must follow all assigned tasks and prevent the newly chosen protagonist from following his villain’s arc, molding him instead into the ideal unique protagonist.
5. Party B must complete this story in order to return to the Nexus; from there Party B can avail the option of returning to outside world.
6. Meanwhile, Party A can observe Party B at any time.
7. As the death effect has been removed, to maintain plausibility effect of the world, Party B is permitted to modify one additional contract term prior to signing. Note: Access to the Nexus is now restricted, so the change made in term for new access will be deemed invalid.

P.S. Meow has already signed the contract. And if you choose not to sign... that is perfectly fine with me. You may remain here forever while meow will find someone else to play the story.
But if you decide to sign, well best of luck, but do not take too long, though. Stories have a habit of changing rapidly and you may lose your chance to change it in your favor. ]
If I do as that fur ball says, would I then be released from the simulation. Smell’s fishy! But if you want to capture a tiger, you have to go into it’s cave. If I’m struck in a situation where I can only wait to be rescued, then I have nothing to lose by trying to beat it. Besides, I am not someone who runs and hides, waiting to be saved!! In my battle against the world I stand proud and without regret. Eli rubber her chin, like a detective trying to piece together the scenario, before coming to the decision of clearing this story.
With a tap of her finger, she opened the clause editor and altered a condition before signing her name at the bottom of the contract.
The moment her signature settled, the parchment-like window flared with blinding light. Letters dissolved into shimmering notes and the entire contract then vanished into nothing.
Immediately after, a new window snapped into existence before her eyes.
[TAME THE DEVIL: WELCOME, PLAYER NO. 1: THE MAIN QUEST BEGINS NOW! ]
As she read through the message the lines between her brow only deepened.
"Mother! Mother!!" Eli called out through her heavy breaths stepping into the queen’s parlor room. The Queen was seated in usual chit-chat with her ladies-in-waiting. "I wish to speak with you about something important."
"Ladies, give us a moment."
Sensing her distress, the Queen gestured for the ladies-in-waiting to withdraw. They obeyed at once, offering respectful greetings to both royals before leaving the parlor.
"Calm yourself, Eli," she said, rising from her seat. Taking Eli’s hand, the Queen then led her to the couch and urged her to sit. "Now tell me, what is it you wish to say?"
"Mother, I have looked for Father all over the palace. Where is he? " Eli asked, her voice tight with panic as she clasped both of her mother’s hands in her lap. "W-we have to tell him... Elarion is going to be attacked."
"Attacked? Tell me first, love...what makes you say this?" Surprisingly, there was no shock in the Queen’s expression.
"That man... the one in the dungeon that day," Eli said, her words tumbling over each other. "I—I looked into him afterward. I couldn’t stop myself. Mother, he’s a ruthless conqueror. Kingdoms fall wherever he goes. I’m afraid.....no, I’m certain. Elarion is next."
"W-we can’t ignore this. We have to tell Father. If we wait, it’ll be too late. Brother is also not here, should we summon him back? What are we going to do, Mother? What if we’re already running out of time?" she continued through her panic, speaking as fast as she could to make her mother understand.
"Take deep breaths, my child. Everything is all right, love, you are safe, and so is Elarion." The Queen cupped Eli’s trembling hands offering her warmth. "Come," she continued gently tucking a stray lock of hair behind her daughter’s ear. "I was about to take my customary walk through Rosevale. Would you care to join me? It has been quite some time since we last walked there side by side."
Eli didn’t understand why her mother had chosen to ignore her words, she had clearly heard her. "But, Mother—" Yet when she looked into her mother’s gentle expression, she found herself unable to argue further. In the end, she could only nod in agreement.
Minutes later, her mother, took her by her hand and gently tugged her so that they could take a walk in the front of their palace in the Rosevale Forest where manicured gardens blended seamlessly with towering trees. Eli didn’t resist and instead she went along with her mother, following her footsteps.
Rosevale was bueatiful sight to behold. But Eli was angry with the emotion of being upset being mixed along with it, overshadowed the serenity around them. Her first task was to stop that a**hole from attacking Elarion. Knowing his brutality, if she fails, not only would her path back becomes impossible, but her life and the lives of everyone around her would be doomed.
Why was the difficulty so extreme from the start? Shouldn’t that knockoff start with something easier? You cursed simulation company!! Are you listening?! Instead of wasting time making these ridiculous plotlines, fix your simluation! Fix the sim! Or atleast make your task simple to complete.
As Eli was busy thinking, her thoughts were interrupted when the Queen stopped before a large tree, where a wide swing hung from one of its branches, big enough for two people to sit comfortably.
"Do you see this tree, Elinessa?"
"Yes, Mother. Its the Soriel tree. Brother and I used to play here all the time."
"That is correct, my dear," the Queen replied softly. "But you may not know why it bears that name." She lifted her gaze to the towering tree with her eyes clouding in past memories. After a long pause, she continued, "Callisto named it. The three of us planted this tree on the day you were born. Back then, it was nothing more than a small sapling and it had no name." Eli listened closely to her, " A few months later, you fell gravely ill. Talented physicians were summoned from distant lands, yet none could ease your condition. I still remember at that period, little Callisto spent his every moment he could at your bedside. Then one night, a storm descended, violent and unrelenting, and your illness worsened with it. It was a very dark ....and a terrible night. But Callisto was not with you then."
"He was here." She gestured toward the tree after a pause. "Out in the storm, shielding that fragile sapling with his own little body. He believed that if the tree planted on your birth survived, then so would his baby sister. Your father and Callisto stood guard over it the entire night, while I stayed by your side, keeping you warm. None of us slept that night. It was the longest night of my life."
The Queen moving forward rested her hand against the tree’s bark. "By morning, the storm had passed. And by some miracle... you began to recover from that very day. From that moment on, Callisto named this tree Soreil—’my sister’."
"And now, look at how much you both have grown." she said, turning her gaze to Eli.
"Just like this tree, Elarion is a vast forest, and you are its most precious flower." She stepped closer "Your brother and your father just as they did that day will protect this forest of Elarion and its cherished flowers." she said as she lifted a hand and gently caressed Eli’s cheek.
