This Spiritual Energy is Lethal!-Chapter 133 - The Living Room
Chapter 133 -133 The Living Room
The man’s phantom disappeared like blue dust in the air, his voice echoing in the quiet corridor.
“I didn’t expect they’d send a Spiritual Ability User,” he said. “I must admit, you’ve gone further than the others, but this is as far as you go.”
Chen Ke looked around and noticed the walls beginning to shed their skin, as the warm yellow paint cracked and a blood-like liquid flowed from the fissures.
The carpet slowly turned from dark red to black, becoming sticky, as if a soaked rag had been torn to shreds and then discarded on the floor.
Stepping on the ground felt like walking on the skin of some creature, with an indescribably foul stench permeating the air.
An Illusion Technique? Chen Ke immediately dismissed this guess; what he was seeing here was quite different from the illusions he had encountered in the Black Box Space.
He ran his fingers over the fluid seeping through the wall, which was warm and viscous, and the wall itself felt soft…
The ceiling had long vanished, and looking up, he could only see a pitch-black abyss.
“Are you a Spiritual Ability User too?” asked Chen Ke.
“Far beyond a Spiritual Ability User… you people could never understand,” the man’s muffled voice came from all directions.
Chen Ke considered his next move, slowly walking forward, each step feeling like he was stepping on the spine of some decaying creature.
“Far beyond a Spiritual Ability User? You certainly talk big,” he tried to engage the man in conversation, attempting to pinpoint his location by his voice.
“You couldn’t understand; my ability has transcended the realm of Spiritual Energy. The Administration Bureau, Yasla, the corporations… even the Spiritual Ability Research Institute couldn’t reach my level… This is… a revelation from God…” The man’s tone was flat, detached from human thought, as if he had reached another plane of existence.
Or rather, he believed he had reached another plane of existence.
Although Chen Ke didn’t believe this guy had actually become a god, he had to admit the drastic environmental changes had left him utterly clueless, and even the life countdown timer showed no information.
This man could be a mutated individual, like the female Diner, a human infected by Spiritual Energy, but with vastly different abilities.
Spiritual Energy was classified by the Administration Bureau into six types and eighteen forms. Chen Ke didn’t know what basis the bureau used to categorize such an ethereal energy, but there must be some reasoning to it.
In the classification of Spiritual Energy, beyond the natural elements of water, fire, and electricity, and corrosive elements like poison and acid, there were also indescribable concepts like Justice and Punishment…
Elements, matter, even moral categories; Spiritual Energy was not something that could be explained by science.
What attribute of Spiritual Energy had this man been infected with? In fact, even now, Chen Ke still couldn’t summarize the man’s abilities.
He began to deduce the man’s trickery by working backwards from the current situation.
First, he could dissolve into dust and disappear right before his eyes, a skill somewhat similar to Laven’s black mist, but different, as unlike Laven, he didn’t leave clothes behind and could remain unseen for longer periods.
Next was, he didn’t know by what means, the scenes around them were manipulated to be distorted. Yet this distortion was so realistic, Chen Ke couldn’t find a flaw.
Suddenly, Chen Ke felt something hard beneath his foot. Looking down, on the sticky, dark-red floor, he saw fragments resembling human bones.
He crouched down for a closer examination and determined that these fragments had once been part of a human skull…
Was this also an illusion? He picked up a fragment of bone, his subconscious telling him that this object was genuine.
Following the trail of bone fragments, he found more items, such as a pistol that had almost completely melted away…
Like discovering a new world, once Chen Ke had found one thing, more and more items swam into his view.
He saw that the hotel’s walls and floor had become dark red flesh, and on the corridor ahead, there were numerous dissolved bone fragments and various weapon parts.
Chen Ke was certain that this fleshy wall was no illusion, and that many people had been here before and died…
A warm breeze blew in from the darkness at the end of the passageway, carrying with it a pungent acidic smell, and the temperature in the hallway suddenly began to rise, with the sound of flowing water coming from afar.
“This is…” he hesitated for a moment, and combined with the persistent stench of acid, an imaginatively outrageous yet plausible speculation flashed through Chen Ke’s mind.
Perhaps this passageway was the intestine of a man…
From the moment that man turned into blue dust and disappeared, Chen Ke had already been devoured by him…
When Chen Ke was transported into his intestine, the outside world’s scenery began to subtly change, bringing about bewildering visual effects. The walls and floors, cracked and bleeding, and the man dissolving into dust, indeed frightened people.
Sometimes, the countdown of life can be quite foolish; it could only discern and absorb murderous intent, but that man’s intention, just now, was simply to gulp him down whole, hence no warning was given.
Liquid began to seep through the ground beneath his feet, that pale yellow substance was like sulfuric acid, seemingly about to dissolve the soles of Chen Ke’s shoes.
He knew, it was gastric acid.
Human foods rely on gastric acid for digestion, and those bone fragments must have been left behind by the assassins he’d previously devoured.
With a flash of blue light from his right hand, Chen Ke summoned a green short sword, then fiercely stabbed it into the ground.
The sensation of piercing flesh came as soon as the blade entered the ground; thick blood spurted from the wound, and when the sword contacted the gastric acid, it hissed, but human gastric acid wasn’t so effective at corroding Holy Relics.
But the sword was quickly expelled by the ground, and the puncture wound also rapidly healed.
“Hahaha! Nice attempt, Spiritual Ability User! But you have seriously underestimated my abilities. Those assassins, upon realizing they had been swallowed by me, attempted the same as you, but neither bullets nor Holy Relics could harm me in the slightest. Just wait until I digest you into a skeleton!” The man’s voice echoed from all around.
The man was right; the wounds Chen Ke left on the intestine with the short sword all healed automatically in the next second, eerily similar to his own life countdown.
But the man was wrong too, he wasn’t unharmed. A super strong healing ability and true invulnerability were still quite different; one just needed to act a little faster…
He fiercely stabbed the short sword into the intestine, then slammed his right hand onto the base of the sword handle.
“It’s useless…” the man chuckled.
Spiritual Energy burst forth!
An immense power materialized out of nowhere, pushing the green short sword deep into the flesh wall.
Room 2232.
A man in a suit stood in front of a bookcase, holding a glass of wine.
Suddenly, his eyes bulged, and he looked down at his abdomen. His white shirt stained with blood, it burst open with a pop, and a sword protruded abruptly from his belly, sticking into the wooden board of the bookcase, flashing blue light, and turned into a small diamond, falling to the floor.
The man gasped for air, knelt down, and clutched at the wound in his abdomen.
“You! You!…” His voice was hoarse, and he watched in disbelief at what happened next.
A hand aggressively emerged from his belly.
“Fuck! Fuck!! Oh… Aaaah!!!” The man rolled on the ground in agony.
An entire arm stretched out from his abdomen, followed by a head.
It was Chen Ke, his face covered in blood.
The man’s body couldn’t withstand Chen Ke, and soon split in two, Chen Ke, drenched in blood, crawled out from his body, his own body still adorned with the man’s viscera and intestines.
“Truly fucking disgusting… shit, I’ve had enough… even killing someone is troublesome.” Chen Ke gasped for air, cleaning the fragments off his body.

The scene was a mess, with the man’s bisected corpse and a great amount of disgusting innards scattered everywhere, but luckily this was a luxury suite, and the man had many clothes to change into.
He took off the waiter’s outfit, packed them all into a bag, used the room’s shower to clean himself up a bit, and found a new set of clothes in the wardrobe to wear.
Chen Ke made his way downstairs, left the hotel through the main entrance, and returned to where he had hidden his clothes earlier, retrieved his mutated suit, and stuffed the bag carrying the waiter’s outfit into a trash bin.
