I reported my progress to my mentor who advised me to try creating some programs from what I had learned hacking into different companies.

He also asked for my phone number so that he could communicate with me when needed and I wasn’t online on the dark web.

After giving him my number, I got down to work. I first tried to create something by making a dating app.

After research, I realized that most apps lacked authenticity and added a few features to my new app.

When I showed it to my mentor, they offered to buy it at what I believe was a high price.

I agreed immediately and my bank account had a million dollars by the time I went to bed.

I had also opened the account on my laptop and just to be more secure from the prying eyes of the pack, I opened an overseas account.

I went to bed knowing that I had a fall back plan if something terrible happened.

I am still underage as I haven’t turned eighteen yet, so I cannot leave the pack without permission.

Moreover, I always feel as if the pack was keeping me alive for a reason. I still don’t know what it is, but from everything Lizzie has told me and my father’s death, I guess it has something to do with that.

The next morning I woke up early to do my chores. By the time the early risers woke up, I had already cleaned the living room and was already wiping the new decorations lining the hallways.

Suddenly, in the living room, I heard something fall and break. My heart skipped a beat as I dropped my rag and ran to the living room.

I found a new vase I had just cleaned shattered on the ground and Laura, a friend of Innocent standing over it with a smug smile.

She looked at me as if she had won and I understood immediately even without her saying a word.

I had just come back from the hospital and started my job again, and someone was already looking to have me punished.

Of course, I didn’t believe that Laura would dare to break anything in that house without permission.

"What did you do?" I asked calmly.

"You will find out soon." She replied smugly and just as I was wondering what her angle was, I heard footsteps coming from the stairs and others outside.

It was as if those people were close the whole time.

"Valerie, how could you break the Luna’s favorite vase so casually?" The voice was heard even before the person walked into the room.

If I still couldn’t understand that this was a set-up, then I would have lived in vain.

"I didn’t break the vase." I replied without turning back to look at the person who spoke.

Laura had already walked away from the remains of the broken vase and was standing on the other side of the room.

Soon, even Innocent walked in.

"Valerie, I know that you have a grudge against me because of the poisoning incident, but I already apologized. Why did you break my new vase? Do you know how much it cost?" That overly sugary voice filled the room as soon as she walked in.

I turned to look at her and replied seriously, "I didn’t break the vase."

"You are still denying it even with evidence. The vase is clearly broken on the floor, how could you claim not to have broken it?" Another friend of Innocent said aggressively.

"I was in the hallway when the vase broke, how could I have broken it?" I asked in frustration.

Why did they have to frame me on the first day after coming back? What was their goal?

"Everyone, don’t blame Valerie, maybe she is still angry at me for accidentally poisoning her with that ring but I really didn’t do it on purpose. Also, I went to the hospital and apologized. I thought she had forgiven me, I didn’t expect her to still be angry at me." Innocent interrupted with the pretentious voice and I nearly couldn’t hold myself back anymore.

"Yes, we saw Luna Innocent go to the hospital. She must have apologized. Why is Valerie so narrow-minded? She should just forgive her, after all, she is the Luna now and she didn’t mean to poison her." The crowd was riled up and already siding with Innocent.

She had clearly beaten me almost to death when she came to the hospital, how did it become her apologizing? What kind of apology was that?

"You were all misled by Innocent. She never apologized to me. In fact, she even beat me up in the hospital. How is that an apology?" I defended myself but just as those words fell, so did a heavy slap fall on my face. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚

It was so heavy that my body flew out and connected with the wall behind me. I heard a cracking sound on my head and blood shot out like a jet.

Not only did that slap cause my head to crack, it had also caused a vein to burst and my life was bleeding away.

My head buzzed and a headache was already knocking.

With my blurry vision, I raised my head from the ground where I had fallen to see who had slapped me so hard.

Of course I had a guess because of the tingling sensation I felt when that palm connected with my face, but I wanted to be sure.

As expected, it was Mike who had hit me so hard. He was currently stupefied and looking at his hand as if he couldn’t believe he had hit me so hard.

A mocking smile traced my lips as I thought that my own mate had tried to kill me for his chosen Luna.

I had already realized that the ceremony had gone through as planned when I heard the crowd call Innocent Luna.
