To Byul (Omegaverse)-Chapter 132: How romantic
"I’m a musician," Myung-woo answered, interrupting him with a smile. "And that’s why I still can’t tell you my name. Please, understand for now."
Yun-tae stared at his sincere smile.
Ah, he thought he wouldn’t disclose that information since it was also personal.
"I’m trying to win as many brownie points as I can with you," Myung-woo said, inching closer. "So, of course, I’d tell you anything you want to know. The only exception is my name, okay?"
"O-okay," Yun-tae answered, his face lightly flushing again. ’He said brownie points.’
What was wrong with him? The littlest things made him flush and his heart was just so stupidly going along with it.
At this rate, his face was going to start heating up for real.
As Yun-tae typed out the text to his father, pausing and then erasing several times while trying to get the right words, Myung-woo watched him with a serious expression.
He was working so hard. So cute.
"Are you okay?" Myung-woo asked, his voice firm but gentle, and Yun-tae raised his head. He nodded, feeling a sense of determination since Myung-woo was supporting him so much.
"Yes, I’m okay." He said and finally sent out the message.
He exhaled slowly after that, pushing out the pressure that had been resting on his heart.
This was it. He had set the floor for the battlefield. What was left was to charge in.
"I set the day to two days from now." Yun-tae said and Myung-woo nodded, holding his hands out to the steering wheel.
"That works fine." He said. "Alright, shall we get going? We seem to have spent a lot of time here without realizing it."
Yun-tae looked out the window. It was already dark.
It was as if the time stopped when he was with Myung-woo but in reality, it had gone by so fast because they got lost in each other’s presence.
Oh, just the thought of something so romantic made him flush.
The drive to Chin-hwa’s family house was quiet, with only the sound of the radio breaking the silence. Yun-tae stared out the window, his mind wandering to the upcoming meeting with his father.
Though he was currently filled with determination, he was still contemplative. He hadn’t met his father in three years but even then, he could still feel the terror he always felt when he looked his father in the eye.
Would he feel that same terror again?
Suddenly, he felt Myung-woo slip his hand in his and raise his head to find him focusing on the road, but his hand had interlocked with his trembling one.
This was his way of reassuring him that everything was okay, wasn’t it?
Yun-tae smiled softly.
How romantic.
As they pulled up to the house, Yun-tae noticed two figures walking up to the front door. It was Kang-woo and Chin-hwa.
They looked like they had just come back since they had been busy at Kang-woo’s place all day.
As they dropped down from the car, Yun-tae’s eyes met Kang-woo’s, a flicker of surprise and unease crossing his face.
Ah, what a coincidence?
He tore his gaze from Kang-woo and glanced at Myung-woo. To think he would meet Kang-woo while he was still reminiscing on the feelings, warmth, and comfort Myung-woo gave him.
His heart raced unevenly. It felt like he had been caught cheating by his boyfriend.
Chin-hwa’s eyes narrowed, his gaze shifting between Yun-tae and Myung-woo. When did those two get together? And they were coming back in Myung-woo’s car.
Did they... Go on a date? If they did, something must’ve led to another because there was no way Myung-woo would’ve asked Yun-tae, who hardly knew him, out and he would have agreed.
(Yes, way. That’s what they literally did. And let me tell you, they even kissed. They went that far, Chin-hwa. So don’t doubt anything you’re seeing or you’ll be too shocked later to speak)
’Daddy must’ve set things up.’ Chin-hwa thought.
"Annyeong," Kang-woo said, lightly bowing his head in respect towards the Hyung he was still not familiar with.
(we’ll be using the formal title of respect to greet the elders from now on because I juggled a lot on if it was really appropriate to just say, Hey or Hello or Good morning like they were robots. So, Annyeong will be their greeting style from now on. But we could go with Hey and Hello sometimes, for most times when I just forget what was supposed to be there, lol)
Myung-woo smiled, his eyes warm. "Hey, Chin-hwa and..." He turned to Kang-woo. "Kang-woo, right?"
Chin-hwa’s expression was more subdued, his eyes still fixed on Yun-tae. "Hyung," he said, nodding with his voice neutral. "And Yun-tae. Did you have fun?"
Yun-tae felt a pang of guilt. But he pushed the feeling aside to avoid getting caught before he had a chance to explain.
He nodded subtly and said,
"Yeah, spending time with Ahjussi was very fun." He said, smiling shyly. "But then he had to leave and I met Hyung."
"Alright, let’s end the long talk and just go inside," Myung-woo said, breaking the awkwardness in the air as he scratched the back of his neck. "It’s so late that I’m sure dinner is already ready," he glanced at Yun-tae. "Come on, let’s go in."
Chin-hwa watched this interaction and paid more attention to Yun-tae’s response.
Yun-tae could almost see calculations swirling out of Chin-hwa’s eyes. Just what was he calculating?
But his gaze made him feel uneasy as it felt like his feelings and intentions had been found out.
He gulped,
"Yes, Hyung." Yun-tae answered, sparking a level of curiosity in Chin-hwa.
’How well do those two know each other? Have they gotten along already? They... Seem close.’
"What are you thinking so seriously about?" Kang-woo asked Chin-hwa who was stuck in one position, staring at the empty space where Yun-tae and Myung-woo had stood, while his eyes circled in his socket.
"Oh, it’s just..." He looked up at Kang-woo and then a thought crossed his mind. What would he do if Yun-tae suddenly decided to break up?
He wouldn’t be too hurt, would he?
They hadn’t been dating for long and it didn’t look like he was deeply emotionally involved yet.
"It’s nothing." Chin-hwa said as he shook his head. "Just wondering if we’ll see snow on Christmas day."
"Hm, then it’d be a white Christmas." Kang-woo said. "But otherwise, it’d be just as special so don’t think too much about it." He added with a warm smile.
"Yeah,"
Christmas with the whole family was as special as it was. Even if it was just them, they would have fun.
Chin-hwa thought this Christmas would just be the entire family gathering together, but during dinner, he got a very huge shock.
"What?! We’re having a Christmas party?!"
