Chapter 131: You should meet him

Yun-tae was glad, honestly, that he had someone to talk to like this. Someone he could comfortably tell his family situation to and not worry that it would affect their relationship.

Maybe he felt he could open up because they were not in a relationship yet or maybe it was because of how comfortable he made him feel around him. Whatever the reason... He was grateful.

"I don’t want to do the transplant." Yun-tae answered with his clenched fists resting on his thigh slightly trembling. "It might make me seem like a horrible person who can’t think of the future of my half brother but I can’t see myself doing something like that just because I should ’pity’ the child. I deserve pity too, don’t I? If I do the transplant and something goes wrong with my spine, my life will be over. It might be selfish but I have to think of myself first."

"Selfish or not, it’s the right way to think." Myung-woo said.

"Yeah," Yun-tae said, taking his words as they came. "Kim Sungtae might be young and innocent but so am I." He raised his head, gazing into Myung-woo’s eyes. "I never deserved any of the suffering I went through. And I still don’t deserve to be treated as a product that’s only useful when needed. I’m human and I’m my own self."

Myung-woo reached his hand towards Yun-tae’s face and brushed his cheeks lightly, caressing so softly that it brushed away the crinkled corners of Yun-tae’s worried face.

"Your father doesn’t care about you and he’s even trying to extort money for the surgery from you as well. The child might be innocent but it’s not your fault that he’s going through whatever he’s going through." Myung-woo said. "If your father cares so much, he can find a way to get the surgery money and another willing donor without compromising the needs of his other child."

Yun-tae nodded. That was the most logical thing to do for any parent, but why would his father bother doing all that when he can get his good-for-nothing Omega son to get the money as well as be the donor?

It was an easy leeway that he would not look away from.

He was probably mad that Yun-tae was living a comfortable life away from him. And that was why he said those harsh things.

He felt nauseous all of a sudden as the rain of insults flooded his memories.

He probably shouldn’t tell Myung-woo about that part. If he found out that his father called him a whore who was spreading his legs around for Alphas then his face would turn even scarier than it did before.

Yun-tae still didn’t know to what extent Myung-woo would get angry on his behalf and he wasn’t going to test it out either.

"He wants me to respond soon," Yun-tae said. "And he won’t take no for an answer."

"You should meet him," Myung-woo said and Yun-tae’s eyes widened.

"What?!" He exclaimed, startled.

"Meet him and tell him to his face that you aren’t going to go through with what he wants." Myung-woo continued. "And when you do that, I’ll be..." He slowly leaned closer, his lips parting softly as his words lowered into a whisper. "...by your side. And I’ll protect you."

Yun-tae’s eyes were fixed on Myung-woo’s face and his movements. He watched his lips close the gap between them till they had touched his own lips.

He didn’t resist but instead, he closed his eyes to once again sink into the warmth that Myung-woo’s lips brought him.

A hot, blazing kiss in the middle of winter was enough to defrost even the most ice-cladded hearts.

"Hyung," Yun-tae called softly as he broke the kiss and brushed their lips softly against each other.

"What is it?"

"Will you really... Go with me?"

"I already said I would, didn’t I?" Myung-woo said, stroking Yun-tae’s hair. "I’ll make sure to protect you, so... Even if you don’t trust me, at least use me."

"What?!"

"Use me till the time when you feel you can trust me."

Yun-tae gazed at him. Where did this guy fall from? He was such a saint at heart.

(Ahem, only to you. This guy is as calculative as Woo-bin)

He was so nice to him, so good, and wasn’t even asking for anything in return. All he wanted was to be with him.

The thought made Yun-tae flush. His insides felt tingly like there were a bunch of butterflies swarming around. He got nervous all of a sudden.

"Thank you, Hyung." Yun-tae said, barely making eye contact as he was having a little trouble containing his excitement and blush. "I will... Take you up on that offer and use you as much as I want. So..." He finally raised his head and met Myung-woo’s pleased gaze. "...I’ll be in your care." He bowed his head.

Myung-woo’s smile widened and he even went as far as chuckling. It was such a delightful occurrence and Yun-tae was just so cute.

He patted his head and said,

"Yes, so use me as much as you want."

Yun-tae finally made up his mind to meet up with his father.

"What day works for you?" Yun-tae asked and Myung-woo darted his eyes for a second as if scrolling through his schedule in his mind, only to return his gaze with a bright smile and say, "Any day works for me."

"Are... Are you sure?" Yun-tae asked. "I’m sure you must be busy with work and..."

"No, no need to worry about that." Myung-woo said, waving that thought aside. "Don’t worry about my schedule ’cause it’s very flexible."

"Oh," Yun-tae exclaimed and slightly bowed his head. "What do you... Do?"

Myung-woo went silent, pinching his chin as he thought of an excuse to not reveal his true profession.

Seeing this, Yun-tae felt it would be too much. He still hadn’t told him his name so he probably didn’t need to tell him what he did.

"If you don’t want to, then--"

"I’m a musician," Myung-woo answered, interrupting him with a smile. "And that’s why I still can’t tell you my name. Please, understand for now."
