Chapter 60: Chapter 60: What You Asked Me For Before, Why Haven’t You Returned It

As soon as they reached the door, he started to accuse her.

Claire lifted her eyes and stared at Tristan Lockwood for two seconds.

She really couldn’t understand where he got the nerve to talk to her like this.

"I just wanted to dance with a handsome guy, and you can’t even handle that?" She blinked. "Then why haven’t you considered how I feel wearing all those green hats gifted by you?"

"You and I have no feelings for each other, and I’ve given you the money. What more are you dissatisfied with?"

Tristan had a cold expression.

He had a tone that completely suggested she should be content.

"Fine, then. As long as you divorce me, I won’t ask you for money again. You’ll have more freedom to go after Jade Sutton."

"And how do you plan to return what you previously took from me?"

Tristan coldly stared at her.

His eyes were full of mockery.

"Don’t forget, everything you have today was built up by me, step by step. Do you think just with your little effort, you could reach this height?"

Claire: "What I took before was all settled with you in bed, and you can’t deny that, can you?"

He sneered, "You really think sleeping a few times makes you valuable."

Claire didn’t say a word, but reached out and slapped him across the face.

She struck so suddenly and swiftly that Tristan didn’t react in time.

The left side of his face was instantly covered with a large red mark.

He looked rather miserable.

However, instead of flying into a rage, Tristan curved his lips into a smile.

Yet that smile was quite chilling.

For a moment, Claire had the illusion that Tristan would ensure she wouldn’t meet a good end.

The Lockwood men, both Sean Lockwood and Tristan Lockwood, were petty and cared deeply about face.

She slapped him like this in public, she’d probably suffer horribly.

Instinctively, Claire turned to run.

But just as she turned, her collar was caught by Tristan.

He grabbed her by the collar, dragged her back to the car, threw her into the passenger seat, and shut the car door heavily.

Claire’s ears almost burst.

When Tristan was furious, he didn’t make much noise.

But his actions were unrelenting, and he directly ripped her close-fitting clothes.

A chill swept through her body.

The atmosphere in the car was as terrifying as a looming blizzard.

Tristan didn’t know where he got a pile of furry things from and threw them on her.

"Put them on."

Claire looked and was stunned.

Why was it animal ears and tails again?

Not just little cats, but all kinds of little dogs, little foxes, you name it.

"Are you seriously ill?"

She asked Tristan.

Tristan smiled oddly and said, "These things that other men give you, you can cherish them, but when your husband gives them, you don’t want them?"

Claire felt that Tristan was not in his right mind at the moment.

She explained, "Those were gifts from Tina and Xiao Xiao."

"So what?"

He sneered, pressing towards her and directly trapping her in his arms.

The car was so small she had nowhere to escape.

Those distinct hands had already started to misbehave.

Claire barely managed to clasp his hand. "Tristan Lockwood, what are you doing? Sleeping with me isn’t worth anything. Don’t lower your own worth by doing something like this."

She wasn’t broad-minded enough to forget so quickly what he’d said earlier.

"Angry?"

"I have no anger toward you, but don’t come looking for me for this again. Go find your little auntie. She’s still waiting for you at the bar."

Tristan ignored her, only pinching her waist and lowering his head to kiss her lips.

Unable to dodge, Claire tightly pressed her lips together, refusing to let him take an inch.

He lifted his head to ask, "You wouldn’t miss me if I sought her out?"

"Why would I miss you? Weren’t you switching women every month before? And I never saw you abstain."

Tristan’s fingers lifted her chin slightly, narrowing his eyes. "Did you personally see me with them?"

Well, no.

But still...

"I have backups of your photos entering and leaving hotels with those women on my computer. Want me to pull them out to refresh your memory?"

"I have no interest in them; it was all just for show."

Tristan leaned forward, engulfing her completely in his arms.

"For show?"

She didn’t believe his nonsense.

"Are you saying you didn’t sleep with them but gave them luxury cars and bags? And when I ask you for money, I have to service you? Do you think you can fool me like an idiot?"

"Why would I need to lie to you?"

He rested his chin on top of her head, his hand sliding over her thigh.

"You treat me like an ATM, so can’t I give you false green hats to tease you?"

Mentioning past deeds, Claire’s spirit soared.

"You once said I was a lousy person with no heart and a lack of gratitude. So shouldn’t I live up to the character you’ve set for me? Besides, even if you didn’t do anything with those flocks of chicks in the past, surely your feelings for Jade Sutton aren’t fake. For her, it’s not just me you’re putting green hats on; even your little brother’s head is a whole field of green now."

"You said it yourself; she’s my little aunt. If anything really happened between us, do you think Sean Lockwood would sit still?"

When a man can no longer hold back, he really can spew out anything soft.

Claire thought, even a chosen one like Tristan Lockwood was no different.

Now that he was also in a hurry, he started coaxing and lying, completely distancing himself from that mess of romance.

When Tristan held her, Claire trembled and said, "If there’s nothing between you and her, why do you protect her like a treasure and refuse to return her to Sean?"

Tristan didn’t answer her.

He only exerted some strength as a punishment, forbidding her to mention another man’s name at such a moment.

By the end, Tristan’s phone rang.

It was Jade Sutton.

She asked where he was; she wanted to go home.

He put on his coat, restoring his indifferent demeanor, and said, "I’ll be right there."

Before leaving, he glanced at Claire.

Her clothes had been torn by him, her coat left back at the bar, and her body was still trembling slightly.

His gaze darkened, and he draped his coat over her shoulders.

With just a thin shirt on, he stepped out of the car.

Claire sat inside the car for just a short while before she saw Tristan and Jade Sutton walking side by side out.

Wearing Tristan’s coat, she got out of the car and approached them.

Calmly, she asked, "Not staying longer?"

Tristan’s overcoat hung loosely over her shoulders.

The revealed fair neck still bore the marks of their heated moment.

Jade bit her lip, staring silently at her.

From Jade’s moist eyes, Claire saw a hint of discontent.

Then she chuckled lightly, saying, "Talk privately?"

Jade watched her cautiously, instinctively grasping Tristan’s sleeve more tightly.

Sensing Jade’s tension, Tristan said, "She’s very tired tonight, needs to rest."

Saying this, without waiting for her response, he took Jade back to the car.

Claire stood there as Tristan’s car drove far away, her body unable to stop trembling from the cold.

Suddenly, she felt quite powerless.
