Tower: Rebirth of the Absolute Demon-Chapter 47: Ch : The Dragon’s Last Breath
Chapter 47: Ch 47: The Dragon’s Last Breath
The Death Dragon, buried deep within the earth, struggled to breathe.
Each shallow gasp was labored, its immense lungs failing under the crushing weight of the invisible force Ye Tian had unleashed.
The once-mighty beast, the scourge of kingdoms and destroyer of legends, was now nothing more than a dying relic of its former glory.
Its voice trembled, hoarse and barely audible, as it attempted to speak through the pain.
Blood trickled from its jaws, pooling into the deep crevice its battered body had created in the ground.
Above it, Ye Tian descended slowly, his radiant aura dimming with every passing second.
He landed softly at the edge of the massive crater, his boots kicking loose pebbles into the abyss.
Settling down onto the jagged edge of the crevice, he perched like a casual spectator admiring the scene of his own triumph.
His lips curled into a soft chuckle, a low, mocking sound that echoed through the silence.
"Look at you now..." he said, his voice dripping with amusement.
"The mighty Death Dragon, brought to its knees by a boy. Not such a legend anymore, huh?"
The dragon, struggling even to lift its head, growled weakly.
Its ancient pride burned at the blatant disrespect, but it no longer had the strength to retaliate.
Blood dripped from its maw as it managed to croak out a single sentence:
"J-just... kill me... already..."
Ye Tian’s laughter abruptly ceased.
He leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees as he stared at the broken creature before him.
"Tch" he scoffed, clicking his tongue in annoyance.
"What a party boomer. I was having fun watching you squirm."
Before the dragon could respond, Ye Tian vanished.
His body dissolved into a golden blur, faster than the eye could follow.
For a moment, there was silence.
The dragon’s strained breaths were the only sound in the desolate battlefield.
Then, a sharp noise cut through the air.
Schlick!
It was the sound of a blade slicing through flesh, clean and precise.
What followed was a wet, gurgling noise, like a high-pressure pipe rupturing and spewing liquid.
Only it wasn’t water.
A fountain of crimson erupted from the dragon’s massive neck as its head was severed clean from its body.
Blood sprayed in all directions, staining the shattered earth and broken trees in a sea of red.
Amidst the carnage, standing by the now lifeless corpse, was Ye Tian.
His left hand, the one he had used to end the beast, was drenched in dragon blood, dripping steadily onto the scorched ground beneath him.
His expression was eerily calm. Neither joy nor disappointment colored his face.
It was a strange mixture of apathy and indifference, as though slaying a millennia-old creature was nothing more than an afterthought.
The radiant aura that had surrounded him moments ago began to waver.
The golden light of divinity flickered like a dying flame, and the energy coursing through his body started to fade.
Prana was leaving him.
As the glow of divinity ebbed away, a translucent window materialized before Ye Tian’s eyes, shimmering faintly in the air.

[The Unknown Goddess of Light is attempting to engrave the Stigma of Light onto the body of Player Ye Tian.]

Ye Tian’s crimson eyes narrowed, his gaze darkening as he read the words. freeωebnovēl.c૦m
His jaw tightened, and a deep, guttural growl escaped his lips.
"Those goddamn parasites..." he muttered, his voice laced with venom.
The calm mask he wore cracked, and his expression twisted into one of unrestrained fury.
His straight face remained, but his eyes... his eyes burned with a deadly anger that seemed to pierce through the very fabric of reality.
He clenched his fists, blood dripping from his fingertips, and looked skyward.
His voice, low and cold, cut through the air like a blade.
"I dare you..." he snarled, his tone a dangerous whisper.
"Try something funny, and I’ll annihilate your existence in the cruelest way possible."
The air around him grew heavy, suffused with an overwhelming pressure that defied logic and reason.
It wasn’t the aura of divinity, nor the power of the gods.
The invisible weight of Ye Tian’s soul pressure surged upward, shattering the boundaries of time and space.
Far above, in a plane beyond mortal comprehension, a divine being gasped.
The Unknown Goddess of Light, the one attempting to interfere with Ye Tian’s fate, was struck by an unrelenting force.
She collapsed to her knees, clutching at her chest as her very soul trembled under the weight of his wrath.
Her ethereal form flickered, the glow of her divinity dimming as though suffocating under an unseen hand.
For a fleeting moment, it felt as if her existence would be snuffed out entirely.
Then, just as suddenly as it had begun, the pressure vanished.
Ye Tian exhaled slowly, his body shuddering as he regained control of his power.
His crimson eyes flickered, dimming back into the familiar cerulean of Diablo Eviar.
But the backlash was immediate.
Blood began to seep from his eyes, streaming down his face in dark, crimson trails.
His vision blurred, and his legs wavered beneath him as his body struggled to remain upright.
Above him, the translucent system window updated with hurried notifications...
---
[The Unknown Goddess of Light has cancelled the engraving of the Stigma.]
[The Unknown Goddess of Light has become wary of your presence.]
[Various Gods and Goddesses have taken notice of you and are wary of your actions.]
---
Ye Tian wiped the blood from his face, his lips curling into a faint, mocking smirk.
"Hah... do whatever you want motherfuckers..." he muttered, his voice dripping with disdain.
Another system window appeared before him, its edges cloaked in swirling black energy.
The text within glowed a bright, crystalline white.
---
[Quest Completed.]
[Objective: Defeat the Death Dragon (1/1)]
[All conditions successfully met.]
[Rewards being distributed...]
---
As the words faded, a new message appeared, this one far more ominous.
---
[Activating Karma System...]
---
The black energy surrounding the system window began to writhe, tendrils of darkness creeping toward Ye Tian like a living entity.
He gritted his teeth, his body trembling as an ominous sensation washed over him.
"So, it finally begins..." he muttered, his voice laced with exhaustion.
