Tower: Rebirth of the Absolute Demon-Chapter 48: Ch : The Karma System Unveiled
Chapter 48: Ch 48: The Karma System Unveiled
Ye Tian sat quietly, leaning back on the cooling corpse of the decapitated dragon, patiently waiting as the mysterious "Karma System" built its suspense.
He couldn’t deny it... the name alone intrigued him. Karma, a word laced with balance and irony, tickled his curiosity.
He already had a faint idea of what it might be, but the uncertainty, mixed with anticipation, made his mind spin.
Seconds passed.
The air grew heavier, darker, as though the world itself was holding its breath.
And then, the system revealed itself.
A new window materialized before him.
It was the same ominous blackish aura as before, but this time... it seemed darker.
Not just black... but void. As if it wasn’t a screen but a hole into nothingness itself.
And then, words began to form in stark white letters, sharp and bold...
---
[Connecting the Karma System with the Player Ye Tian.]
---
Ye Tian raised an eyebrow.
"Connecting, huh?" he murmured.
"Sounds like it’s about to do something crazy."
Before he could think further, another window appeared beside the first.
This one was different... pure white, glowing with a radiance so bright it was almost blinding. It looked like it embodied creation itself.
Pitch-black words appeared on the white screen, contrasting sharply against its purity...
---
[Replacing the System with the Karma System.]
---
Ye Tian chuckled, shaking his head in amused disbelief.
"To think they’re together again..." he muttered. His lips twisted into a smirk.
"I guess this really is... karma."
His gaze flickered between the two windows hovering side by side.
Black and white.
Dark and light.
Void and Creation
The symbolism wasn’t lost on him.
It reminded him of the ancient concept of Taichi, the eternal balance of yin and yang.
He exhaled slowly, blood still dripping from his wounds as he struggled to stand.
His body protested every movement, but Ye Tian ignored the pain.
Limping slightly, he walked to the severed body of the dragon and sat down on its massive chest.
"Even now, I can’t get a damn break..." he muttered, rubbing his temples as the system screens updated.
The black window flashed first...
---
[Connection has been successfully established.]
---
The white screen followed immediately...
---
[Karma System has been successfully assigned as the unique system for the Player Ye Tian.]
---
The ominous black window shifted, its void-like surface morphing into something clearer.
It now displayed a detailed status interface that made Ye Tian raise an eyebrow in interest.
---
[Name: Diablo Eviar (Ye Tian)]

[Age: 9 (19)]
[Lifespan: ? (80)]
[Titles: Master of All Divine Weapons]
[Race: Human]
[Class: None]
[Skills: None]

---
"Level zero?" Ye Tian muttered, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
"What a joke. Master of all divine weapons, my ass."
He scoffed, shaking his head, but the next update made him pause.
The white screen updated, revealing something even more pitiful.
---
[Stats:-]
[Strength: 3/100]
[Agility: 2/100]
[Dexterity: 2/100]
[Mana: 1/100]
[Luck: 0/100]
[Intelligence: ?/100]
[Karma: ?/100]
---
A long sigh escaped his lips.
"Even worse than I thought..." he muttered.
"This body’s stats are a complete disaster. Even the average human scores between 5 and 10. And here I am... with a stamina of fucking 2."
He glanced down at his trembling hands and sighed again, louder this time.
"What the hell, Diablo? What kind of useless body did you leave me with?"
Before his complaints could continue, the black screen updated again...
---
[Calculating Rewards...]
[Converting the Rewards to Player’s Desire...]
[Distributing Rewards...]
---
At that exact moment, the dragon’s massive body began to dissolve into shimmering particles of light.
Ye Tian blinked in surprise as the corpse vanished beneath him, sending him tumbling to the ground with an unceremonious thud.
"Damn it!" he cursed, wincing as his already battered body hit the hard earth.
"Couldn’t you warn me first, system?"
The screens didn’t respond to his complaints, but new notifications soon followed...
---
[Rewards: Death Dragon’s Heart, Dragon’s Blood.]
[Congratulations! Player Ye Tian has Successfully Killed a Dragon at Level: 0.]
[Player Ye Tian has received Title: ’Dragon Slayer.’]
---
Meanwhile, the white screen displayed its own updates...
---
[Player Ye Tian has been rewarded with a Teleportation Scroll.]
[Player Ye Tian has received an additional quest reward: Healing Potion.]
[Player Ye Tian can now access ’Inventory.’]
---
Ye Tian smirked slightly, though the pain still lingered in his body.
"Finally, some decent loot..." he muttered, eyeing the mention of the dragon’s heart and blood.
"This should come in handy later."
But before he could celebrate, both screens suddenly flashed with new alerts.
---
[A sudden quest has arrived.]
[Objective: Use the Teleportation Scroll ASAP.]
[Time Limit: 15 Seconds.]
[Rewards: Life.]
[Failure: Death.]
---
Ye Tian’s smirk froze.
"What the—?!" he growled, his crimson eyes darting between the screens.
"Are you kidding me? Fifteen seconds?!"
The clock had already begun ticking, each second echoing ominously in his mind.
Without hesitation, he shouted...
"System! Give me the teleportation scroll! Now!"
The black window responded instantly:
---
[Understood.]
---
Before his eyes, a faint shimmer materialized in the air, and a scroll appeared, hovering just within his reach.
Ye Tian didn’t waste a second.
He grabbed it and unfurled it hastily, his hands trembling from adrenaline.
The timer ticked down.
Four seconds...
three...
"Come on!" Ye Tian growled, ripping the scroll in half just as the timer hit two seconds.
The world around him distorted.
His vision blurred, colors bleeding into one another as a powerful energy enveloped his body.
The faint sound of a clock ticking down stopped, replaced by an eerie silence.
And in the blink of an eye, Ye Tian vanished into thin air.
As soon as Ye Tian disappeared, the silence of the battlefield was shattered by the sudden arrival of ten figures.
They materialized right at the exact spot where the dragon had met its end.
The group consisted of eight women and two elderly men, all clad in black mage robes that billowed slightly in the faint wind.
Their presence exuded authority, power, and something far more sinister... an unshakable air of danger.
