Transcending Realms With My Leveling System As A Demon-Chapter 58 - 1V4... The Slaughter
"Not that it would matter much after you’re dead." Zylus continued, "I thought the announcements already had me, but I guess not."
Each person stopped, and Lucas dropped Eldra to the floor, as they slowly watched a demon’s sight for the first time.
"Men," Noctis whispered, "Run!"
Each of them sprinted backwards, running as far away as they could, before even seeing Zylus’s ability. They didn’t need to see it, because the presence of his had already made up their minds.
"Don’t run!" They stopped sprinting at Lucas’s yell, "So, what if he’s a demon?! We were going to have to fight them sooner or later anyway! Why not now?" He smirked, preparing for combat.
"You’re not getting it!" Noctis screamed, "Up until now, unlike anything we have faced, none of them, not a single one, can compare to the level of a demon, let alone one of his caliber!"
Lucas spat on the floor, "We don’t even know if he’s strong yet; this could all be a bluff as far as we know." He said.
The two people who once stuck closely to Lucas put a hand on each of his shoulders, "Sorry, boss, but this is for the greater cause. Good luck."
With those words, they both sprinted. Noctis sprinted in the opposite direction now to avoid getting caught.
Zylus started jumping from left to right, stretching his bones slightly, "Haven’t hit leg day in a while."
Zoom!
With that, he zoomed past the standing Lucas. Lucas’s eyes couldn’t catch just how fast Zylus had truly gone; it was too quick, and in the midst of that, Zylus gave him one last message.
"Coming right back, wait for me." It was as if time had slowed, and everything paused. Lucas still stood there, gazing at the simple pace Zylus was going at.
"He’ll never catch up to me, maybe the others, but definitely not myself." The little one whispered as his technique boosted his speed by a large margin.
"Missed me?" Zylus sprinted right in front of him.
"How’d he even get here?!" The man yelled, worrying, "Run, Zen, run."
Just like that, his life got cut short by one neat slash of Zylus’s katana.

As Zylus looked back, the other two, not including Lucas, had remained in almost their same positions, but Noctis had deepened into the forest, so Zylus decided to rush him first. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
"Think you can escape, interesting."
Zylus jumped from left to right again, until one quick movement made him appear right in front of Noctis.
Zoom!
Back in the demon realm, he never appeared this quick, it was because this time, he wasn’t facing an actual challenge; they seemed as though they were normal humans.
"You know," Noctis stopped in his tracks, seeing Zylus’s gaze in which he stood just in front, "There was a human that I had faced once, who was really strong."
"What of it?" Noctis smirked nervously, and sweat ran down his face.
"It’s just that..."
Slice!

"You guys can never compare," a clean, swift cut ran deeply through Noctis’s neck, "Time for the other one." He said.
Zylus looked into the open path, watching Lucas on his knees in shock, and the same way with the final bully, who continued to run pathetically in the northern direction.
Zoom!
Swift!

No words, not a sound, just blood gushing out of a fallen body, all of this, as Lucas watched his comrades die over and over, and Eldra stood on the floor, unconscious.
Zylus then started walking slowly to his final opponent, "Has this never crossed your mind?" He swung the katana, perpetrating all the stained blood that it had gathered, "How did you even allow the thought to be instilled into your conscience of somebody like you, being able to kill me?" He giggled, closing in the distance between the two on every step, "You thought by not bringing the other classmates, you could get away by killing me? I’m afraid, the only person who’s going to live to tell this tale is going to be me."
Lucas then smirked, "Order two," he whispered, pointing a hand towards Zylus, "Overwhelming gravitational pressure."
Bam!
Zylus fell flat-faced onto the floor. He tried moving himself up, but pressure pulled him away from being able to do so.
"What’s this?" Zylus panicked as Lucas stepped towards him, "Was that an order two? How and when’d he get that?"
Lucas laughed, a hand covered his face, but left just enough room for his left eye to pity Zylus, "Remember that time I came to school late?"
"That’s because I submitted myself to an order two contract!" He yelled, "Who cares for those who have died? Why would I care?"
Lucas’s expression darkened, and the pressure continued on Zylus, "We’re going to become spirits soon either way."
"W-what, do you mean?" Zylus spat those words out, but the pressure from the lowered gravity made him stutter. "Spirits?" His voice shook.
"Oh, right," Lucas paused, "I already know the truth. Sure, the contracts are about conviction, but in the end, they’re meant to make our flesh slowly turn into Spirits."
No, it couldn’t be. Zylus then thought to himself about what he might have possibly become. Does that mean my demonic essence has turned slightly Spirit?
Lucas slammed his shoe onto the back of Zylus’s head, "But who cares if we become Spirits? They’re more elegant and classy than us anyway, plus, an ability like mine is too powerful to let go of." He laughed again, the night sky perfectly glared towards him.
I can’t fucking get up. Body, get up!
Zylus couldn’t step up, and in this process, Lucas began pulling out a knife underneath his clothes. Unlike before, where his rage would save him, it did not anymore. Zylus had killed too many to care anymore; he only felt pity for the others he would face.
"Die in hell," Lucas pointed a knife directly towards him, "Demon."
Nothing. It had seemed as if Zylus’s time was coming to an end, and there was still much more he wanted to accomplish, including the rage that seeped within him. The time his father and mother died, for some reason, he didn’t feel as much hatred towards them as he did now. Was it because he was getting too close to the humans? Growing too many unnecessary emotions? What truly was it that caused this pain?
But as the knife aimed at the top of his head, somebody caught it. Eldra was still unconscious, yet the man who got taken away was the same person who would now save Zylus twice.
"I don’t know your reason, as a demon as you are, for killing these guys," the man said, "But I also know that you’re a good person." He smiled, glaring towards Zylus.
