Transmigrated As The Final Villain of a Death Game-Chapter 182: Sun Purification Ritual [ 5 ]
Putting the obvious unease aside, I took a deep breath and channeled black lightning through my body, enhancing myself.
The marble ground slightly crumbled under my feet as I sent myself flying right up to the wraith. It noticed me and abruptly vanished.
But it didn’t really vanish.
It just entered its soul form and turned invisible. But thanks to my Mystic Eyes, I was able to see the wraith just fine.
And by default, I didn’t hesitate to bring down a giant black lightning bolt right onto the invisible wraith. The ground rumbled as dust and debris flew everywhere. The marble was particularly sharp, and although it couldn’t hurt me or the wraith directly, I could use it.
So that’s exactly what I did.
Channeling my Telekinesis, I gathered every bit of debris and trapped the wraith inside. The moment I realized that it was trying to get out, I began unleashing waves upon waves of powerful energy.
In just a few seconds, all the resistance stopped, and once I finally stopped using my Telekinesis and let the debris fall, I saw dozens of glass-like shards scattered everywhere.
That meant I killed it, thankfully.
After all, these wraiths had a defensive system of sorts. Whenever they took critical damage, they covered themselves in dense crystals.
Obviously, those crystals couldn’t do a thing against me.
And so, having killed one wraith, my confidence shot up. I sat back down on the ground and decided to wait for more demonic monsters to come.
An hour passed. Then two, three... six hours.
For six whole hours, I didn’t see even a single wraith. The clicking sound got louder, though, and it made me shiver a bit.
I don’t think it’s out of fear. If I had to guess, my mind’s just reacting to whatever’s out there.
Still...
As I glanced around, I realized that the darkness had closed in considerably. I now had around 5 meters of space to work with. And when I first got here, I had several hundred meters.
Basically, I would feel that torture again in less than an hour.
"..."
It was a little funny.
From the very start, I should have known.
Just like enhanced energy reserves and enhanced energy, which I’m getting by just being in here... I needed to actually suffer Sun damage and build a resistance to it.
Welp.
Here goes nothing.
I approached the darkness and stuck my hand through it. The same pain as before hit me, and it wasn’t any less excruciating. My legs wobbled slightly, and with gritted teeth, I stuck my hand even further into the light.
But when it was time to take it out, all that I was left with was a charred lump of flesh all the way up to my shoulder. My arm was completely ruined.
For a moment, I thought that my regeneration was going to fix it. Instead, it began regrowing into a weird shape that didn’t resemble my arm in the slightest. In the end, I was forced to cut off my whole arm and then wait patiently for it to regrow properly.
When that was done, I just stood there, frozen.
What am I supposed to do...?
If I go in there, I’m just going to be disfigured.
But if I don’t, I won’t be able to last 16 more hours.
Clementine...
I wonder what she’s doing?
Did she leave already?
...Or did she jump headfirst into the light?
I let out a sigh and groaned, realizing that there really was no way out of this.
And with a final look of regret, I enhanced my whole body with black lightning and kicked ahead, breaking through the darkness and enveloping my whole body in light.
My eyes burned up in an instant, and all the breath was sucked out of my lungs. My regeneration couldn’t keep up with the damage I was taking. And with the scorching, unbearable pain continuing to eat away at my sanity, I felt like throwing my body back where it was safe.
But when I tried to take a step back, I quickly found out my legs were already gone, and so were my arms, as well as the rest of my body.
In a last-ditch effort to save myself, I covered my heart and my brain in energy. A moment later, I felt empty.
Literally.
Somehow, I still felt a connection to my heart, and since I could think, I was obviously not braindead yet.
Could my idea have worked?
Really?
I looked closer at my heart, and as I thought, my energy was being drained consistently. That meant it actually worked.
And if that was the case, what if I tried something...?
I created a small, open pathway in my heart. Immediately, the power that had burned me began making its way directly into my heart. Though instead of burning me and killing me then and there, it began restoring my energy rapidly.
With that, I realized that I had finally figured out how this worked, so I began absorbing the energy and strengthening my heart, as well as my three Gifts.
It was oddly peaceful.
12 hours passed swiftly.
Just then, I felt like my body was slowly beginning to regenerate. Although it was very painful, after just one hour, I felt as though I was lying in some warm puddle.
When my eyes regenerated, I slowly opened them, and to my surprise, I was actually lying in some kind of luxurious golden fountain.
The pale golden sky was filled with all sorts of flying islands. Each one had a palace on it, while some only had statues.
I couldn’t recognize this place in the slightest, as nothing like this ever appeared in the game.
Feeling my skin bubbling slightly, I got the stupid idea that I might be on the sun or something.
...But that’s impossible.
I stood up in the fountain that reached my knees and glanced around.
Aside from a palace, there was a pitch-black birdcage right by a table that had a single cup of unfinished tea.
Almost like someone was watching me.
Jumping out, I approached the birdcage and realized how cold it was. But seeing the marble interior of the birdcage, I realized this was where I was earlier.
And so the heel clicking...
It must have belonged to whoever sat here and drank their tea.
