Transmigrated As The Final Villain of a Death Game-Chapter 183: Sun Purification Ritual [ 6 ]
I looked around again. Using my Mystic Eyes, I soon found a few faint traces of energy, and all of them led directly into the palace.
Deciding not to dawdle around any longer, I walked up the luxurious staircase and arrived in the main garden. There was a cobblestone path leading straight to the palace.
Honestly?
I was a little skeptical.
Staying here and waiting was an option.
But I was way too curious.
After all, what if it’s someone I know from the game?
Taking a deep breath, I eventually made up my mind and walked along the path. Once I stepped into the palace, I was met with a pleasant aroma that seemed to be leading me to the main dining hall of sorts.
And once I followed that aroma and pushed the golden door open, there was a long table filled with all sorts of dishes.
Most importantly, at the other end of the table was a white-haired and white-eyed woman. Her bangs were perfect, and her simplistic white dress oddly fit her slim body.
Still...
I couldn’t help but feel like she was dangerous.
"Who are you?"
The woman tilted her head slowly.
"Don’t you think you should put on some clothes first, then sit down and eat?"
I narrowed my eyes and approached her. As I stood over her, I said:
"Are you the one responsible for the Sun Purification Ritual?"
She let out a sigh and rose from her seat. Pulling a cane out of nowhere, she pushed me with the dull end, as if telling me not to get close to her.
"I am hardly pleased by you waving that thing around at me. Moreover, you come into my home and demand answers? Do you want me to teach you a lesson in manners?"
"Come on, if I could put on clothes, I would. They’ve all burned."
Hearing that, she lowered her cane and thumped it onto the ground. In the next instant, a pair of fashionable white clothes wrapped around my body.
Then, with another thump, my bones cracked as my body suddenly began moving on its own, sitting down at the table and then grabbing a knife and fork.
After 5 whole seconds, I was back in control. Just this time, I was a little more cautious about what I said.
Clearly, this woman was powerful. Very~ powerful.
"My name’s Elise. And yes, I’m the one responsible for the ritual."
She sat back down in her seat and crossed her arms.
"Now as for you... How did you even survive going through the boundary? You’re nothing like any of the other Sun Vampires."
"That’s because I’m not a vampire," I said.
Elise paused for a moment. Just then, her eyes widened. She leaned over the table, her eyes sparkling.
"Dragon? Wow... Are you actually a dragon? Did you descend from a dragon? Did you eat a dragon heart? Did you transplant a dragon heart into your body? Did you—"
"O-One question at a time..." I interrupted, startled.
Elise pouted slightly.
"Fine. Then you’re a dragon, right?"
"I am."
"Oh... Then, can you transform into a dragon right now?"
I shook my head.
"My proficiency’s a bit too low for that, so I can’t."
A gloomy look appeared on her face.
"That’s a pity. I was hoping to see a dragon again."
I really couldn’t read her expression.
But if I were to guess, she’s old.
If she’s taking care of the ritual, could she be one of the ancient Sun Vampires?
I decided to pry a little further by enveloping her in my Telekinesis. To my surprise, there was no demonic core, which means...
"Ha? You think I’m a vampire? Well, sorry to disappoint. I’m just an abandoned Divine Beast who’s sooo~ bored. Anyways... Wait a moment."
Her eyes narrowed as a deadly glint appeared in them.
And the same went for me, as I realized what she had just said.
A divine beast.
"..."
The words the Eldritch monster once said to me played out in my mind, alongside my loudly thumping heart.
[Because I was deemed hideous by the standards of humans.]
[I was once referred to as a divine beast...]
[Now look at me.]
This... isn’t good.
Elise is an Eldritch monster too.
One of the five.
And clearly, one of the five who’s still active.
Shit.
"I smell my sister on you."
Elise stood up once again. Except this time, her beautiful face turned lifeless and then began abruptly cracking. It almost seemed like something was trying to peek out through the cracks.
My heart felt like it was being crushed, forcing me to turn into lightning and blast off into another corner of the room. Yet when I glanced around, her whole figure turned blurry, and my Mystic Eyes could no longer keep up, forcing me to look away from her.
I heard a loud squelching sound, followed by the familiar clicking that I had heard earlier. The clicking of her boots as she approached me was louder than I expected, and when Elise arrived in front of me, I felt like I could barely control my energy.
This was the overwhelming difference between Grades. It was just more apparent now that I was dealing with someone of such a high Grade.
And to think that at any moment... the Eldritch monster I faced could emit such pressure and suppress me made a shiver go down my spine.
Even so, I managed to muster up the courage to look up and meet her eyes.
But she didn’t have eyes anymore.
Instead, her face opened outward as tiny teeth ran along the flesh. The flesh flapped around, but a couple dozen tentacles from within held her face together, making sure it maintained the same weird shape. Yet the longer I stared into her face, the more I felt like my mind was slowly collapsing.
Just then, I saw a white glow in the back of her ’throat,’ which almost looked like it was calling out to me.
I took a step forward instinctively.
But before things could get too out of hand, a raven appeared out of nowhere, creating a pitch black lightning wall and snapping me out of it.
[Focus up you fool...]
