Chapter 113: Chapter 113:Boss Battle [4]
As the four Imperial class students simultaneously attacked and diverted the crabawler’s attention from the small wound in its chest, Jett silently stood up.
Then, in the next moment, he disappeared.
Simultaneously, before any of the Imperial class students’ attacks could even touch any of the three tentacles, they suddenly split in half.
Just like a human head after decapitation, the tentacles were no longer connected to the main body of the crabawler.
As if cut by a sharp sword, they were chopped into small pieces, purple liquid squirting out of them as they lifelessly dropped to the sand below.
A moment later, a small figure, completely overshadowed by the massive figure of the crabawler, could be seen descending rapidly toward the ground.
The figure was desperately clutching their chest, blood leaking onto their face through their eyes.
Their shoes were torn, clearly as a result of attempting to scale the rough body of the crabawler, and bulging white veins appeared on their arms.
However, the figure’s eyes remained still and tranquil, and its mouth did not open for a moment despite its rapid descent toward the ground.
There was a more pressing problem at hand, though...
Although the three tentacles had been destroyed, the attacks on them hadn’t stopped.
Hitting the place where the three tangled tenacles used to be, the solar beam, created by Liam, extended further and further upward, moments away from hitting the figure.
Additionally, three ice crystals charged straight at the figure, sealing his fate.
Even if he miraculously managed to twist his body in the air so that the light beam only hit part of his body, not totally killing him, the ice crystals would deal the fatal blow.
He had gotten the tentacles, but at what cost..?
*BAM*
Most, if not all, of the students didn’t even notice Jett’s descending figure, focusing on the sliced tentacles falling toward the ground.
Even if they had noticed him on the crabawler’s body, the change in Jett’s position would have been instant, like teleportation, in their eyes, making it impossible for them to react.
Sighing, Jett spread his arms out, welcoming the beam of light flying toward him with a scowl, and sighed.
For a brief second before his demise, his entire body, with his arms spread out, was illuminated and shining.
Ironically, if one looked at Jett right now, they would probably think he was an angel floating in the sky.
Then...it happened.
All Jett could see was light, an infinite amount of it.
He was face-to-face with the beam.
"g-"
*BANG*
Acting as if Jett were nothing, the beam burst forward, and upon contact with the beam, Jett’s body...simply disintegrated completely, leaving no trace.
And the beam continued onward, extending further into the sky.
Back on the beach, the princess quickly wiped away her confusion about the three tentacles’ destruction and sprinted forward.
There were still two up for grabs!
A couple of moments later, Liam regained his composure as well, retracting his beam and sprinting to the backside of the crabawler where the final two tentacles stood.
Xero, however, simply stood still.
Perhaps, he had given up on fighting the prince and princess.
Behind Xero, the Worldly class students, with a renewed sense of motivation, followed the Imperial students.
They had just witnessed a miracle. fгeewebnovёl.com
Someone had stolen three tentacles right under the noses of the prince, princess, and two other Imperial Academy students!
Interestingly, the Imperial students actually seemed to act as bait, with the crabawler focusing on them while the Worldy students easily ran around the monster to its backside.
A couple of miles away, in the middle of the sea, a voice suddenly sounded from a girl holding a battleaxe.
"Alright, this is far enough."
The group of four students, all on separate rock surfboards, were extremely far from the crabawler, as they had simply followed Jett eastward in the ocean.
At this point, all they could see was the plain blue water with no land in sight.
Although Jade had no idea about the current fight with the crabawler, she naturally assumed that the prince and princess were close to taking down the beast.
And, when that happened, everyone would be kicked out of the portal.
Thus, her time was limited.
Behind Jade, Ren immediately halted, his hand on the hilt of his sheathed katana, and sighed.
"It’s nothing personal...Jett, was it? Unfortunately, the only way to progress in this world is to trample on the bodies of others."
"Haven’t you heard? The emperor’s throne lies on a million dead bodies."
Behind the two students, Kim finally grasped the situation, his expression transforming to one of pure anger.
"We haven’t even found the boss, while the other groups are probably killing it! Why are we fighting each other!? We still have a c-"
Interrupting Kim mid-sentence, Jade immediately noticed his hot-headed nature and smiled.
Looking away from Jett and turning backward, she smiled and loudly asked.
"Hey, Kim, what do you really think happened to that girl? Sage, was it?"
Raising his head and pointing at Jett, Kim immediately answered.
"Don’t be stupid. She was a healer, so Jett left her on the shore to be safe. And, since she already casted boosting spells on us for speed, she will receive individual contribution alongside us when we defeat the boss!"
As Ren mockingly shook his head, holding back a snort, Jade placed her hand on her forehead and drifted closer to Kim.
Reaching her hand out to grip Kim’s right shoulder, she glanced backward at Ren and said in a loud voice.
"Do you really believe that? Do you really think that an Imperial student like him would give a portion of HIS individual contribution to Sage?"
Seeing Kim’s eyebrows raise and his mouth open, Jade immediately continued, fanning the fire inside his heart.
"Don’t you remember...he indicated Sage had chosen to stay behind. But we saw her clearly asking Jett to get on his surfboard and ride forward."
Initially, Kim had subconsciously accepted Jett’s gestures, as he internally didn’t want to see Sage sharing a surfboard with him.
But now with the facts in front of him, he had to accept reality.
Weakly pointing forward at Jett, whose back was facing the group while he continued to drift eastward, Kim demanded, his entire body trembling.
"Answer me! Is what she’s saying true!? Did you abandon Sage!? Where is she!?"
"..."
No response came.
Like a robot, Jett simply looked forward at the ocean, allowing his surfboard to ride the current Eastward.
Taking advantage of the silence, Jade softly patted Kim on the shoulder before saying.
"This is why we, Worldly students, have to stick together. Otherwise...imperials like him will take advantage!"
Snorting and looking at Jett’s back with a disgusted expression, Ren continued.
"Just because they got lucky and became enlightened first, they think they’re better than us. They have no right to boss us around and control us!"
Kim, his anger at a breaking point, immediately took out his bow, nocking an arrow on the unstable and shaking surface of the surfboard.
"We’ll get rid of him, then take out the boss!"
Clapping their hands like excited spectators, Jade and Ren said in excited voices.
"Look how the tables have turned! Soon, he’ll be begging for our mercy!"
According to orders, Jade and Ren didn’t just have to make Jett achieve a low place in the practical exam.
That wasn’t enough to get him kicked out of the Imperial dorm.
The two Worldly students had to completely humiliate him, to the point where he smeared the reputation of the Imperial class itself.
If Jett’s existence itself had a negative impact on the Imperial class, the academy administration would, without a doubt, take action to protect the Imperial class’s reputation.
As Jade took out her battleaxe, which had been resting on her back, and Ren unsheathed his katana, the two made eye contact.
The Imperial dorm was all about power and superiority.
Thus, if an Imperial student, representing the dorm, lost to some Worldly students, their reputation would be tarnished.
Fighting and defeating him was their way!
While Kim finally released the bowstring, sending an arrow flying toward Jett, the duo of Ren and Jade smiled and jumped forward.
When the conversation had been going on, distracting Jett, they had been slowly paddling forward with an increasing strength, getting nearer and nearer to Jett’s surfboard.
The time was now right.
Unsurprisingly, Kim’s arrow veered off course due to the surfboard’s rocking back and forth, completely missing Jett’s body.
*SPLASH*
Landing on the edge of Jett’s rocky surfboard, Ren looked back, only to see Jade in the water a few inches away.
She had missed the jump.
Shivering in the near-freezing water, Jade desperately grabbed onto the edge of Jett’s surfboard and yelled.
"GO!"
Finally, Jett turned around so that he could face his teammates.
There was a grim expression on his face as he raised his hand and attempted to tear the bandage covering his right eye off.
Though not skipping a beat, Ren turned around and sprinted across the surfboard, keeping his balance, and thrust his katana forward right at Jett’s body.
