Transmigrated as the Novel's Final Boss-Chapter 53:Ten Shining Stars [2]
Chapter 53: Chapter 53:Ten Shining Stars [2]
From all the way back in the third row, I could only see her snow-white hair, which lay on the silver backrest of the seat.
Originally, Evangel had hidden her talents and had nearly zero achievements, so she was nowhere near the top ten.
Evangel’s deed of defeating a C-ranked troll must have spread throughout the adventurer’s guild, so the academy must have made a last-minute adjustment to their ranking.
While this wasn’t necessarily bad, it just meant things would speed up.
In the book, Evangel would only move to the top ten rankings after the first semester, allowing her to build connections with important figures and form a group.
However, now, she could start on that immediately...although some members from her cohort in the book may be missing, as she had only met them before her top ten ranking.
The rest of the entrance ceremony was a pain as Principal Ellie simply talked about respect and about how all of our actions now represented the intentions of Glaive.
It was so bad that Raven even muttered.
"When is this bullshit going to end!?"
Although I wanted to verbally agree with him, I didn’t dare speak out in the presence of a demi-god.
Finally moving on from the moral and ethical rant, Principal Ellie scanned the stage for a moment before saying.
"Now, it’s time to talk about classes and dorms."
"As you are all first-years, there will be no ranking exam, so the class you are put in will be solely dependent on one fact."
At those words, the girls beside me broke into conversation.
"I bet the deciding factor is intelligence."
"I’ll meet you guys at the top then!"
"No, no...the factor HAS to be wealth!"
Even Raven curiously looked at me, clearly wanting to express his guesses to someone.
While this entrance ceremony would normally be a nervous and exciting event for all students, I already knew everything, so it was more like a lecture.
Thus, when Principal Ellie ignored the chattering of the students and opened her mouth to speak, I wasn’t surprised.
"The deciding factor is enlightenment. Those who are enlightened will be placed in the top "Imperial" class, while everyone else will be in the common "Worldly" class."
Immediately, the audience broke into an uproar as students even stood up.
"Enlightenment..? People here are already enlightened!?"
"This has to be a bluff...I doubt there are more than ten enlightened students in the grade."
"Hey, I think I just enlightened...where’s my top class placement!?"
The reason why complaints came barrelling out one after another is that the small Imperial class has a massive advantage over the massive Worldly class.
Not only do all students live in private and luxurious dorm buildings with single rooms, but Imperial class students also have countless facilities, such as private dining halls and personal gyms.
However, the most important benefit is that those who graduate as Imperial class students automatically receive a noble position in the empire if they’d like to take it.
Essentially, you are guaranteed wealth and a lucrative career if you are in the Imperial class.
On the other hand, students in the Worldly class have to deal with overcrowded facilities due to their large class sizes and share small rooms with others.
If I had to guess, currently, there were probably around twenty enlightened students in the first year of Glaive.
That meant that the other thousand students would all be crammed into the Worldly Class.
While others sank into despair, I sighed and shook my head.
The Worldly Class would be the perfect place to build myself up.
At the end of each semester, the top five students within the Worldly Class would advance into the Imperial class, so there was always a fierce competition in the lower class.
Thus, this would be the perfect chance for me to improve my stats and compare my talents to others in my class.
If I started all the way at the top, in the Imperial Class, I would be left behind and ridiculed due to my terrible swordsmanship.
I would be playing catch-up the entire time.
But in the Worldly Class, I would be motivated to train more as my peers would be at the same level as me and training, as we all collectively attempted to obtain a top-five ranking.
Taking a step backward and slowly disappearing from sight, Principal Ellie waved at us before stating one last set of words.
"Dorms are now open."
"If you are enlightened, head to the Imperial Dorms on the west side of campus, and if not, head to the ten Worldly dorm buildings that are lined up on the east side."
As the curtains closed and the principal faded from sight, the top ten students were the first to stand up as they immediately moved westward.
Slowly but surely, students got out of their chairs and moved East, including Raven and I.
But...life was truly full of unexpected tricks.
As I stepped out of my row, Raven behind me, a familiar figure with black-hair suddenly appeared in front of me.
"You know you’re going the wrong way, right?"
Keeping a neutral expression on my face, I shook my head and answered.
"The right path for one man may be the wrong way for another. Do not be afraid of non-conformity. Embrace it."
Immediately, I felt myself being raised into the air as Daisy grabbed my shoulder and held me in the air like a balloon.
Despite wielding a small and light revolver, she still had a massive amount of strength.
As Raven stared at us two incredulously, Daise simply gestured for him to pass by.
Not understanding why Daisy had stopped me, Raven flashed me a grin, assuming I was in trouble, and walked by while saying.
"Don’t worry, I’ll save you a plate of food...if there’s any left!"
Letting me down, Daisy glanced at me for a moment before saying.
"Are you ready to quit being a philosophy major and join the real world as a sword wielder?"
