Chapter 62: Chapter 62:Festivities and Spirits [1]

Shrugging my shoulders, I simply smirked and replied.

"It’s fine, I’ll wash it off in my own PRIVATE shower AND bathroom."

Looking down at the ground, Raven muttered.

"I’ll be there by tomorrow."

*POP*

At that moment, as the two of us stepped back onto the ground and left the training hall steps, a deafening sound of what seemed to be a massive balloon popping echoed throughout the entire academy.

My entire body shook just from the sound alone, and Raven almost fell off my shoulder and onto the ground.

"What the hell was t-"

Before Raven could even finish his sentence, the entire sky suddenly lit up with thousands of light-blue particles.

It was as bright as the sun.

Placing a hand over my eyes, I glanced upward, seeing the particles gather up and move around until they created a massive dome around the entire academy.

Then, in the next second, all the millions of blue particles floating in the air merged together, creating a solid semicircle that encapsulated the entire academy.

The very top of the bubble stretched thousands of meters in the air, seemingly reaching outer space.

The ground, the trees, the building, and even our bodies started shining a light-blue, exterminating the darkness around us.

It was as if we were on fire...blue fire.

Magical...that was the only way to describe it.

It seemed the festivities had started.

Looking at Raven, I considered just leaving him and running to my dorm before the streets were crowded, but the thought quickly left my head.

That bastard would find a way to get back at me.

For the rest of my life, I would have to look over my shoulder and constantly worry about when Raven would strike for his revenge.

Unfortunately, Raven was in a comatose state, and I didn’t have the strength to fully carry him while running.

Thus, the two of us walked forward as the stone path below and the trees around us glowed a light blue, highlighting our way ahead.

In the distance, the celestial phoenix floating above the colosseum was even colored a light blue instead of red.

The fire in front of the phoenix’s beak had also been heated to the point where it was also colored a dark blue.

On my right shoulder, Raven was awestruckly looking around, his mouth wide open as he caught sight of the phoenix in the distance.

As we approached the academy’s main streets, the sounds of students excitedly talking and pushing through crowds to get a spot began blaring in our ears.

By the time we had passed the colossuem and reached the path leading onto the street, the area was already filled to the brim.

In the crowd of over ten thousand students, there was not a single gap or hole we could squeeze through.

My head, already aching from the fight earlier, dropped to the ground, and an exhausted sigh escaped my mouth.

We would be stuck here for the remainder of the night.

Even worse, the sound of fireworks popping and students eagerly screaming while catching blue particles would constantly sound, worsening my head pain.

Although I did enjoy fireworks, after this exhausting day, I was in no mood to do anything but sleep.

As my mouth inadvertently opened upon seeing the streets packed, a mutter suddenly escaped.

"If only she were here."

This crowd wouldn’t be a problem in the slightest.

Raven, who had gotten off my shoulder and was now standing behind me, tilted his head toward me with a questioning gaze.

"What? You’re already missing your family already? We haven’t even been away from home for a day."

Pointing at the packed streets ahead, I turned to Raven and said.

"You’re a raven, right? Can you fly me back to my dorm, or perhaps create a wind current?"

"...are you mental? Who the hell do you think I am? Even if I could fly, am I your personal carriage service!? I’d fly up to the moon and drop you before delivering you back to your dorm."

"Was worth a try. Guess you’re better suited to being a dog."

Falling to the ground and sitting down with my hands stretched out behind me and my legs forward, I looked up.

Looking at my figure, Raven incoherently muttered some more insults before asking.

"You’re a ...wait, what is your name?"

Opening my mouth, I casually replied.

"Kairo-"

Immediately raising my hand over my mouth and leaning backward, I hesitated before continuing.

"It’s Jett, yeah, Jett."

Nodding his head, Raven attempted to find a way to insult my name before eventually giving up and sitting down beside me.

"Hey, is the Imperial dormitory nice?"

Watching a single firework, the precursor to the entire show, suddenly appear above the trees before rocketing upward at a speed too fast for most people to catch, I answered.

"It’s alright. The people inside it are pretty bad, though."

Wrinkling his nose, Raven followed my gaze, also spotting the firework, which was about to reach its apex.

"If they’re all like you, I’d have to agree."

Raising my hand, I grabbed Raven’s shoulder and replied.

"You know I’m down for another spar; I think I’ve recovered enough energy."

*BANG*

Before Raven could even answer, the firework suddenly imploded in the air, and a cascade of crimson-red light rained down from the sky.

Outshining the light-blue glow of the bubble, the red light waterfalled down from the firework’s highest positions, falling all the way to the ground of the academy.

After a couple of seconds, at the very center of the academy, an infinite pillar of blood-red light appeared, attracting everyone’s attention.

The firework emitted an infinite amount of red light at an incredible speed, creating the illusion that the light was solid.

*STEP*

Immediately catching my attention, the sound of footsteps getting closer and closer echoed.

Who was walking this way, to the middle of nowhere, instead of watching the fireworks?

As Raven also glanced away from the blood-red pillar, a figure finally came into view, nearing us with every passing second.

With short-black hair, black-eyes, and a pair of round-shaped glasses, the figure halted upon seeing us.

His eyes were as sharp as a hawk as he gazed downward at us, holding a small book in his hands.

From his full suit and serious expression, I could immediately tell who he was.

The signature advisor of the Imperial dormitory.
