Chapter 63: Chapter 63:Festivities and Spirits [2]

Pushing my shoulder, Raven fell backward and whispered in my ear.

"Who’s that? Looks like he has a stick up his ass."

Before I could even turn to face Raven, a sudden cold and sharp voice echoed from in front of the two of us.

"Professor Snape. The Imperial class’s dormitory advisor."

Wasting no extra breaths or words, Professor Snape simply continued staring at me, seemingly trying to carve a hole through me.

As Raven peeled back, letting out a dry cough and looking back at the red pillar, I tilted my head, looked up at the professor, and casually asked.

"Need something?

Immediately flipping his gaze toward me upon hearing my relaxed and impolite tone, Raven stared at me with his eyes wide open.

I didn’t feel the need to use a formal tone.

If I had to describe my least favorite character in this novel, it would be, without a doubt, be Professor Snape.

There was no shortage of ruthless murderers and unethical criminals in the books, but despite all of that, Professor Snape was my least favorite.

It wasn’t his stuck-up personality or strict actions that pissed me off; though, they are annoying.

His clear biasm is what pissed me off.

As a high-school student, I had experienced countless incidents of clear bias where a teacher had treated a certain student better simply because they liked them better.

However, in the magical world, this bias was elevated to the maximum.

Professor Snape would not only treat students better because of their background, but also hurt students with a worse background.

Giving better grades to students he favored and worse to those he hated was just the start.

As a professor on Glaive’s teaching board, he would do everything in his power, both in and out of class, to prevent students with no background from receiving funding or influential positions.

I was an Imperial class student with absolutely no background, so by default, Professor Snape already despised me.

Thus, I felt no need to speak to him politely.

No matter how I acted toward him or the tone I used to talk to him, he would do everything in his power to hinder me.

Upon hearing my question, Professor Snape’s pupils slightly widened, but his expression remained the same.

His gaze colder than the entire continent of Antarctica, Snape nodded his head before answering.

"The Imperial Class is currently holding their own entrance ceremony so that students within the dorm can meet and connect with each other." ƒreewebɳovel.com

Turning around, the professor simply halted and stared ahead, seemingly waiting for me to follow him.

Yawning, I allowed myself to fall completely on the ground, lying on my back, and said.

"I’ll pass."

Almost instantly, a cold and curt response came.

"It’s not an option."

Raven, clearly sensing the animosity between us, scooted backward and raised his hands, acting as if he weren’t involved in the slightest.

I didn’t blame him.

I wouldn’t want to be involved with that asshole either.

As Professor Snape turned back around to face me, I raised my hands and mockingly moved them around.

"Oh yeah? What if I don’t go then?"

Getting in a fight with a student on the first day of school was a surefire way for him to ruin his reputation.

Beside me, Raven’s eyes widened to the point where his eyelids were no longer visible while he stared at me with an open face.

Leaning forward, he muttered.

"Just go. Do you want to get expelled on the first day!?"

Taking a step forward, Snape coldly looked at the two of us, as if we weren’t humans but savage animals, and said.

"You should listen to y-"

Raising my hand, I interrupted him mid-sentence before he could finish his cliche line.

"If you ask nicely, I might go."

Although this Imperial dormitory welcoming party may seem like an unimportant event from the outside, it was actually crucial to the dorm’s image.

The imperial class symbolized perfection to the rest of the school.

It was the end goal that everyone in the school strived to reach.

Without it, the students at Glaive would have no reason to continue working and growing stronger.

Thus, to keep the students’ motivation up, the imperial class had to display an image of perfection, even for small events like this.

This is why Imperial class students receive such special attention and expensive facilities.

Even if they’re from no background like me, Glavie is forced to take care of them to maintain the class’s reputation.

If even one student was absent from this event, Professor Snape’s reputation as an advisor would fall, as there would now be an impurity present.

After a couple of moments of awkward silence, where Raven stared at me with a worse expression than when he had first seen my blood-red eye, Professor Snape finally opened his mouth.

"Everyone is waiting for you back at the dorm. The emperor’s son’s food is getting cold while you are sitting here, covered with filthy dirt and grass."

In reality, I didn’t really have to be at the dorm.

I just had to be somewhere out of sight, as if my presence were spotted outside, people would realize that an imperial student was skipping the dorm’s ceremony.

Shaking my head, I stood back up, giving a short glance to the confused Raven, and walked toward Snape.

With a simple click, he could make me disappear, so I didn’t push my luck.

Anyways, I had just wanted to test the waters, not actually do anything drastic.

Turning his back to me, Professor Snape walked toward the crowded streets of the academy, pausing a couple of seconds before entering the crowd.

Then, raising his hand, he took a stone, which was colored a light blue like a sapphire gemstone, and threw it at the ground.

As the stone collided with the ground, it instantly dissolved, and a magical circle appeared in its place, surrounding the two of us.
