Transmigrated as the Novel's Final Boss-Chapter 68:The Imperial Dorm’s Ceremony [2]
Chapter 68: Chapter 68:The Imperial Dorm’s Ceremony [2]
The cake was good, but I doubted it would compare to the World-class food that the Imperial dormitory would serve later tonight.
Shrugging my shoulders, I leaned against the counter and said. freeweɓnovel.cøm
"Your choice."
Nodding her head, she simply stood there, staring at me with an expression that said, "Can you leave now?"
Shaking my head, I continued.
"I’ll stay here till the dinner starts."
All I had to do was be seen enough so that if Professor Snape asked someone, they could tell him I was there.
Honestly, I could just leave and head to my dorm right now as both Liam, the emperor’s son, and Zeke, the grand duke of the North’s son, had seen me.
But, it would be a waste not to at least try the world-class cuisine served by the greatest magical chefs in the world.
Sighing, I subconsciously reached into my pocket for my phone to entertain me, but there was nothing there besides my pen.
Without technology to entertain me, this world really could be quite boring at times.
Besides going to classes, training, and sleeping in my dorm...what could I do?
On the other side of the kitchen, where the microwave was, the girl began devouring her strawberry cake with a grin.
To make conversation or to not.
Pushing myself upward and sitting atop the kitchen counter with my back against the wall, I stared out the window to the right.
The fireworks had ended, but the magical particle drone show was still going on.
In just a few moments, the academy would erupt into absolute anarchy when the competition started.
Would the Imperial dorm be participating in the competition?
Snapping me out of my thoughts, a sudden voice echoed from in front of me.
"Why are you hiding here?"
Yawning and looking up at the lights hanging from the ceiling, I responded.
"Too tired to talk."
"You’re talking right now, though."
"Am I?"
Seemingly realizing that she wasn’t getting anything out of me, the girl turned around before saying.
"Someone named Zeke is looking for you in another room."
"Hm?"
Turning to face the hallway back to the common area, I cupped my hand over my right ear and attempted to listen, but I could only hear the piano.
Seeing me, the girl sighed before saying.
"I have good ears."
Pausing, I leaned forward, meeting her dark-blue eyes, and asked.
"Even you have good ears, how can you know someone is looking for me if you don’t know my name?"
Ignoring my question, she simply looked downwards and picked up another piece of her cake before muttering.
"You better go, Jett."
Falling off the counter and standing on the ground, I smiled before replying.
"An observation-related gift. Am I right, Mira?"
Although I hadn’t recognized her at first, since she had only been described as an adult in the book, there was only one important person in the book who possessed a speciality gift.
Instead of giving you an increase in power with a specific weapon, specialty gifts boosted one of your stats to the maximum.
For example, Mira, "The Silent Observer," had a gift that boosted her perception to the maximum.
She could be said to have the best ears and eyes in the world.
However, unlike my right eye, which could simply see more physical things around me and take in information, Mira could also see invisible things.
Like a status menu.
I doubted she had reached the level where she could view an entire system menu, but it was quite worrying to see her already seeing the first line of it.
Of course, there were ways to avoid her gaze, like anti-divination artifacts or smoke-element items, but I couldn’t even come close to affording those.
As my words echoed throughout the kitchen, the girl’s pupils suddenly dilated, almost filling up her eyelids, and she raised her hands, inadvertently letting go of her plate.
This was probably her first time being out-observed.
Expecting her surprise, I had already walked up in front of her, and before the plate with the cake hit the ground, I managed to place my hand under it.
As the plate crashed against my palm, I barely managed to hold my balance and slowly raised it up.
Ignoring her gaze, I placed the cake back on the counter and cut off a piece.
While I began eating, she finally managed to open her mouth and say something.
"Y-you have one too?"
It would probably destroy her confidence if she realized that someone without a special gift had managed to shock her, so I just kept silent.
Shrugging my shoulders, I wiped some frosting off my face and responded.
"You’ll find out soon enough."
At that moment, a familiar voice echoed throughout the hallways and into the kitchen, overpowering the piano.
It was Liam.
"Food’s ready."
Shaking my head and ignoring Mira’s frozen figure, I left the kitchen and headed toward the common area.
At the very front of the room, a large line of people stretched all the way to the staircase.
And, in front of that line, there was a massive vertical table with dozens of containers, each smelling exquisite, lined up atop it.
Liam and Zeke were sitting in the same place, but now, they had plates in front of them and were eating.
"..?"
Avoiding the line, I headed to the two familiar figures and asked.
"Is the food good?"
Instantly, the two boy looked up from their plates and nodded with their mouths full, looking like hamsters.
These two royals should have experienced every cuisine and quality of food with their riches, so for this food to impress even them, it had to be beyond amazing.
Letting my curiosity get the best of me, I was about to head to the back of the line when suddenly a voice echoed from in front of me.
"Who’s this?"
Looking up, I could see the boy Zeke had warned me about earlier, taking a seat on the couch next to Liam.
