Chapter 69: Chapter 69:The Imperial Dorm’s Ceremony [3]

Looking at the figure next to Liam now, I now recognized him from the book.

I hadn’t been fooled by the two nice figures I had met in the Imperial dorms, Liam and Zeke.

This dorm was supposed to be filled with elitist figures who looked down on those with no backgrounds.

You would expect this group of people to be small, considering the Imperial dormitory only consisted of 20 people; however, this elitist faction also contained people in the Worldly dorm.

It was funny to think about, but some royals, even the children of dukes, hadn’t made the cut and were in the Worldly class.

On the other hand, normal people without any background met the requirements and were placed into the Imperial class.

Thus, these royals in the Worldly class had become extremely furious that some "randoms" had taken "their rightful" place in the Imperial dorms.

So, they had joined the elitist faction with an intense anger toward commoners.

Hence, the goal of the faction was formed.

To push normal and regular people out of the Imperial class.

Of course, because of Glaive academy rules, they couldn’t do anything physical, but spreading rumors and shit talking were apperent.

Currently, I was looking at the future leader of this faction.

Xero.

Nodding my head, I answered.

"Jett."

Almost immediately, a cold voice replied.

"I wasn’t asking you."

Consequently, a cold mood enveloped the area as Zeke and Liam suddenly looked up from their plates, halting their eating.

Shrugging my shoulders and chuckling, I responded in a joking and sarcastic tone.

"What are you? Too afraid to ask me a question to my face?"

To Zeke and Liam, this was almost certainly seen as a joke to calm the mood; however, Xero obviously took a different way, as an insult.

Seeing him staring a hole in me, I simply waved my hands and headed to the buffet line.

He could actually be quite useful in the future.

Currently, they were just serving appetizers and small bites to eat while sitting, as the main meal was served in dishes on the elegant dining table.

Examining the common room while waiting, I could already see that the dorm had split into two factions, with the boys on the right side and the girls on the left.

Interestingly enough, the boy and girl’s awkward dynamic on Earth had remained in this world.

However, it went deeper than that.

By choosing to be on the male’s side, you essentially accepted Liam as your future emperor and supported his candidacy.

Alternatively, if you were on the left, you were endorsing Charlotte’s claim to the throne.

In the book, Liam would win this race without a doubt due to his superior strategy and more powerful backers; however, with the appearance of a white-haired figure, this could change.

Seeing that snow-white color suddenly flash across my vision, I immediately looked away and grabbed a plate.

She had watched me become enlightened, so she would know I was in this dorm as well.

I wonder what she was thinking.

After loading up a plate of small bites that included regular food from Earth like pigs in a blanket, crackers, chips, and guac, I simply returned to the kitchen.

Mira was also there, digging away at the last few pieces of her cake, but thankfully, we both stayed silent while occasionally glancing at each other.

After about five to ten minutes, I was done with my plate and bloated.

Peeking out of the kitchen, I stared through the hallway and at the dinner table, which now had people sitting down and talking.

Behind me, a sudden voice echoed.

"The competition is starting..."

As an observational aspect holder, this magical particle gathering challenge was practically meant for Mira.

With her insane eyesight and ears, she could easily find and discover magic particles anywhere.

However, Mira’s body wasn’t physically enhanced like the other enlightened people, so it would be hard for her to actually collect and touch the particles.

Fortunately, this competition was team-oriented.

She could spot while someone else grabbed

Seeing more and more figures sitting down at the table and dishes starting to be served, I sighed and turned around.

I had tried the food and met three important figures...that was enough, right?

Through the window, the principal’s familiar voice sounded, piercing through the glass.

"3!"

"2!"

"1"

"Students begin! All you have to do is touch the particle, and it will automatically disappear and be counted towards your team’s total!

"May the best students win!"

It seemed like the Imperial dorm wouldn’t participate.

To be fair, if they did, the result would be the same every year, so it was acceptable to the other Worldly students.

As a sigh escaped Mira’s cherry-red lips and her short black hair, in the form of a bob cut, blew backward, revealing her mana-blue eyes, I leaned forward.

Perhaps it was because I was too much of a coward to step back into the common room and sit down...perhaps facing her, or maybe my curiosity had gotten the best of me.

How skilled was the current Mira with her observation?

Shrugging my shoulders, I threw out a suggestion, finally breaking the awkward silence in the kitchen.

"Wanna go?"

Not even a moment later, an excited reply sounded.

"Out there..?"

Nodding my head, I walked toward the window above the counter we had been staring out of and slid it open.

"Yes, out there."

Alternating gazes between the hallway and the window, Mira paused and hesitantly asked.

"What if we’re caught?"

Looking through the drawers, I grabbed a white colored apron and threw it to her before finding a white chef’s coat for myself.

"Good enough?"

Instantly, the hesitation in her eyes disappeared, and her ocean-blue pupils began to race around her eyelids in excitement.

"Works for me."

As I put my head out of the window, my knees on the kitchen counter, a sudden barrage of noises entered my ears.

"OVER HERE!"

"I FOUND ONE, I FOUND ONE!"

"THERE ARE SO MANY OUT HERE!"
