Transmigrated as the Novel's Final Boss-Chapter 70:The Imperial Dorm’s Ceremony [4]
Chapter 70: Chapter 70:The Imperial Dorm’s Ceremony [4]
With my head peaking out the window and the rest of my body inside, barely balancing, I turned backward and asked.
"Seems we’re a bit late; everyone’s going to be ahead of us. Still want to g-"
Before I could even finish my sentence, I felt a sudden pressure push against the bottom of my shoes, causing my entire body to fall forward out the window.
I had no time to even react.
Falling headfirst toward the ground, I immediately cupped my hands around my head and prayed for the best.
However, mere moments before my head hit the dirty garden floor surrounding the building, a sudden pressure gripped my ankle.
As I hung in the air, held up by Mira’s weak grip on my ankle and pushed down by the overwhelming force of gravity, a voice echoed from above me.
"Hurry up!"
Pressing my palms to the ground, I stabilized my body in the air before rolling forward and performing a somersault.
Although it wasn’t as graceful as the other one I’d seen, it still managed to get me on my feet without much pain.
A couple of moments later, Mira called out.
"Help me down."
Seeing her dive head-first out of the window like a dolphin, I simply stood still like a wooden dummy, allowing her head to crash against my stomach.
As I fell backward due to the impact, she fell forward onto my body, but thankfully, before we hit the ground, I looked backward and managed to grasp onto the garden fence.
With my back against the fence, I gazed forward, seeing Mira’s head pressed against my stomach. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com
At that moment, she suddenly tilted her head upward, her calm and tranquil ocean-blue eyes meeting my violent and arrogant blood-red eye.
Silently staying still, enduring the pressure of her entire body against mine, I waited for her to stand back up, but she didn’t.
Instead, Mira looked at my face with an ever deeper expression before finally saying.
"Your right eye; what happened?"
Not wasting a moment, I immediately stood back up, slightly pushing her forward so that she was standing upright.
My blood-red eye was a demon’s lineage ability.
If she found anything out about the reason my right eye was damaged, she could connect two and two.
If it were anyone else, I would have answered the question by saying it had bled, but this was Mira, "The Silent Observer."
Seemingly noticing my reluctance to answer, Mira stepped forward and pointed to the academy streets beyond the fence.
"All the particles on the academy street will be taken by now, or there’ll be too much competition."
"So, let’s go there first."
Following Mira’s hand, I saw her pointing away from the academy’s main area at the forest that surrounded the entire academy.
Shrugging my shoulders, I simply said.
"You tell me where, and I’ll get."
After the two of us easily climbed over the garden fence, we returned to the pathway and began walking right and southward, instead of left, toward where the academy’s main street was.
As we leisurely strolled, students both ran past and in front of us, prompting me to ask.
"Shouldn’t we hurry it up a bit?"
"..."
Hearing no answer, I awkwardly turned to my right, just to see Mira in a world of her own with a map in front of her head, completely covering her face.
Where did she get a map?
A moment later, she lowered the map and pointed at the tall trees which could now be seen in the distance.
"Since we’re inside a bubble, there should be no wind, and therefore, all the particles should be spread out evenly throughout the academy."
"However...to project her words across the academy at the start of the ceremony, the principal must have created a wind current or some elemental current that interacts with air to carry her voice."
"Her voice should have had no effect, considering the particles were released after her words, but the lingering elemental particles are still here."
"Mana particles naturally flock to elemental particles; that’s how enlightened people are able to use their elemental ability so easily without having much control of the mana inside the body."
"The principal spoke from the very center of the academy; however, based on the time and direction of her voice, we heard... she should have been facing southwest."
"The most elemental particles, and therefore, mana particles, should be spread out along the southwest part of the academy."
"Conveniently, the only dorms located on the western part of the academy area are for Imperial academy students, who don’t usually participate in this competition."
Shaking her head, Mira pointed forward and narrowed her eyes.
"There’s a trail of residue particles here."
Looking ahead, I sighed upon not seeing anything, but refused to take the bandage off my blood-red right eye.
Suddenly, Mira rushed forward, toward the southeastern part of the forest, and yelled while looking back.
"Hurry up! Don’t forget our deal!"
Feeling a surge of energy rush through my body, I sprinted after her, catching up with her by the time we reached the forefront of the trees.
Out of breath, I looked at Mira, who was simply standing still while staring up into the sky.
Her eyes shone a dark blue, making it seem as if her blue pupils were as deep as the ocean, as she looked upward.
Then, a second later, she suddenly raised her hand and started yelling.
"There!"
Not skipping a beat, I followed the direction of her outstretched finger, finding a particle there every time.
"Two steps to your right"
"Done."
"Two trees east!"
"Done."
"Above you!"
The particles were either sitting atop tree branches, just relaxing on the tree floor, or levitating slightly above the top of the forest.
None of them tried to run when I touched them; they simply sat still, waiting to be claimed.
Every time I would touch a particle and watch it disappear before me, a loud pair of directions would echo.
"Down on the floor, ten steps right!"
They were perfect every time; I didn’t even have to look down once.
I was like a robot, being completely controlled and told where to go by Mira.
