Transmigrated as the Novel's Final Boss-Chapter 95:Contractually Obligated [4]
Chapter 95: Chapter 95:Contractually Obligated [4]
Such an outcome was to be expected considering my rise to fame today, but that didn’t mean I had to accept it.
Putting on another clean white collared shirt and a pair of black pants, I gazed out the massive glass window to my right.
The academy was dead as it could be.
Besides the brightness of the faraway plaza square, not a single other building was lighting up the dark night.
Opening the dorm door and descending the winding staircase, I was surprised to see that the group of students previously here had disappeared.
In the common room, there was not a single other person besides me.
Shaking my head, I headed to the table lined up against the wall opposite the entrance and grabbed a plate, filling it up with a variety of food.
...
...
...
The night really had ended there.
In the entire thirty minutes I had spent downstairs, not a single person had come down or teleported inside.
After dropping off my plate, I re-entered my dorm room and collapsed on the bed, exhausted from the day’s events.
Of course, I didn’t actually fall asleep.
*KNOCK~KNOCK*
Jumping out of bed without a second of hesitation, I rushed to the door with my mouth open and right hand on my pen.
Why did I have to wait for those idiots?
They would come right to me.
With my right leg back and left leg forward, I was completely prepared to sprint forward as I aggressively swung open the door, almost knocking it off its hinges.
However, I was only met with a brick wall.
A...smug and tall brick wall.
Letting out a dry cough, I awkwardly removed my hand from my pocket and stood up normally.
"Is there a problem, Professor Snape?"
After staring at me in silence for a solid moment, Snape took a deep breath in before revealing his right hand.
"Your reward for yesterday has arrived."
Handing me a silk pouch, with the academy’s phoenix emblem on its center, Snape nodded his head and turned around.
But before I could close the door, he added in his normal sharp tone.
"A replacement door for you will arrive tomorrow and be in place before the end of classes. The academy has already sent its finest investigator to figure out the perpetrators."
Nodding my head, I sarcastically replied.
"Are you the ’finest investigator’ by any chance?"
Ignoring me, Snape ascended the winding staircase with another pouch, leaving me to close my door.
Not wasting a second, I immediately opened the pouch, almost collapsing upon seeing the dozens of silver and gold colored coins inside.
"Money..."
*KNOCK~KNOCK*
Snapping me out of my trance, the door in front of me suddenly vibrated as if there were an earthquake going on.
Was it them!?
Throwing the closed pouch behind me onto the bed, I casually placed one hand in my right pocket...before swinging the door open with all my strength.
It was getting replaced tomorrow, so who cared?
Basically flying off its hinges, the door opened to a 90-degree angle, revealing a familiar figure in front of me.
"For fucks s-"
Interrupting my complaint, the figure reached their hand forward, with their palm facing me, and said in a completely serious tone.
"Where’s my half of your portion? I did most of the work, didn’t I?"
As I stood there in silence, Mira casually pushed by me and walked into my room, adding as she passed by me.
"What’s up with your door, anyway? Did you think you were being cool or something by messing up your own door?"
My anger reaching its peak, I furiously yelled, allowing the door to close behind me.
"DO YOU REALLY THINK TH-"
Interrupting me mid-yell, she nonchalantly sat in my chair and picked up the piece of paper lying on my desk.
"Oh look, classes for tomorrow are out!"
Cupping my fist and taking a deep breath, I walked behind her and...yanked the chair out from under her as fast as I could, like a magician pulling a tablecloth off a table.
However, unlike a magician’s trick where everything remains on the table, Mira fell straight down onto the floor, letting go of the paper in her hands.
Grabbing the paper out of the air, I leisurely sat down in my chair, leaning against its backrest, and examined it.

Holding her back and groaning, Mira stood back up and complained.
"What was t-"
Interrupting her mid-sentence, I said.
"Look, we have our first practical on Friday!"
Glancing at me with a furious expression, Mira shrugged her shoulders and jumped backward onto my sturdy desk, still facing me, before replying.
"Well...I was going to help you find the people behind your door...but I guess not anymore."
"..."
A real investigator to help me!
Of course, I knew that the early form of Imperial Faction was behind this, but I couldn’t just blame them without any proof.
Anyway, I didn’t really care about evidence and getting them in trouble with the academy.
An eye for an eye, you say?
Handing her the paper and gazing up at her, I nodded my head and sarcastically replied.
"Will you...please assist me in this extremely difficult case, detective?"
Gazing up at the ceiling and pretending to think for a moment, she answered.
"I’ll take my payment in the form of answers from you."
Accepting, I rolled back in my chair and grabbed the pouch on my bed before asking.
"How’d you know where to find my room?"
"I was leaving my room when Professor Snape came up the stairs to hand me my pouch and saw him leaving your room."
Pausing for a moment, Mira looked to her left at my window and questioned.
"The night really is dead, huh?"
