Transmigrated Into The True Heiress-Chapter 70: Grumpy Ass
Chapter 70: Grumpy Ass
"Do you think Ephyra should know about what Liam said?" Lyle’s words pulled Jania out of her reverie, and she looked up to see that he was seated, facing her.
Jania frowned as she understood what he was talking about. "I’m not sure, but if you wish to tell her, then you should because it could make it easier to get her cooperation. However, you will have to tell her about the connection you have with her. And it is not only a question of whether she would believe you but also of her being more suspicious and untrusting than she already is towards you."
Lyle was quiet for a moment before speaking in a low voice. "Then I guess I have to find a way to make her stay longer." Then he leaned forward, the expression on his face changing to a neutral one. "I’m sure you know why I called you here."
Jania immediately nodded. "Yes, of course. I already investigated it. I believe the time it happened was almost six months after Marriana became Ephyra’s stepmother, which was a year after Ephyra’s mother died. At first, she got sick frequently, and each time, she was taken to the hospital. But the day she got sick again and only Marriana was home, she didn’t take her to the hospital. Instead, she called a nurse over and treated her. Through some means, her father agreed to let her be treated at home, and the nanny also didn’t protest. Since then, Ephyra usually forgets things about herself and others. She was diagnosed at the hospital, but the doctors didn’t find anything causing her memory loss, so it was dismissed as a minor reaction in her brain, and the memories would come back." She paused. "When I found out that the nurse was still alive, I looked for her, but I haven’t found her yet. It seems she has a backer. Forgive me, Master Lyle."
"What about the one you sent Herrera to help you with?"
"Actually, Han informed me just before I came in that they will be here any minute—"
**Knock, knock.**
"Come in," Lyle said as he leaned forward.
The door opened, and Han stepped in. He immediately bowed to Lyle in greeting. "Master Aelion." He looked up and turned to Jania. "Herrera’s men are here."
Jania nodded and turned back to Lyle. "I will go and meet them right away, Master Lyle," she said, her voice calm.
Lyle gestured with a dismissive wave. "Go. Report back when you’re done, and don’t forget to call Ephyra."
"Of course." Jania nodded again and walked out, followed by Han, who bowed to Lyle again before following her out.
"They brought three people with them, whom I believe are associated with Marriana, the orphanage, and a former gang member of the Caso gang," Han told her as they hurriedly walked through the hallways.
Jania smiled. "Herrera’s men are as efficient as he says." She paused. "Now that they’re here, I’m suddenly very curious how Ephyra would react after finding out all the truth behind her past."
"Well, there’s something else I haven’t told you," Han said hesitantly as he pushed up his glasses.
Jania immediately halted and turned to face him. "What is it? Did something happen?" she asked, growing pensive at Han’s hesitant tone. Han never hesitated, and if he did, then something was wrong.
"Actually," he pushed his glasses upward again, "Herrera’s men weren’t the only ones who came."
Jania raised a brow. "Who else came?"
"Alessandro and..."
"Who the hell is it, Han?"
"Juan."
Jania blinked once, then twice, before chuckling. "You’re kidding, right?"
Han shook his head. "I was as surprised as you are. He was supposed to be in Columbia, according to the news I got."
"Fuck! What the fuck is that bastard doing here?!" Jania cursed as she ruffled her neatly styled hair. "And why the fuck did Herrera not tell me he was coming? That fucker knows how much I hate Juan. Of fucking course he did it on purpose!"
She groaned and sighed heavily. "Let’s go. We’ve got a job to do. But I promise, I’m going to kill that fucker if he tries anything," she stated as she turned around and marched towards the stairs.
Han sighed as he closed his eyes.
Jania never acted out of character or displayed strong emotions, except if something happened to Master Aelion or if she saw a certain someone—which happened to be Juan. He could understand her frustration. After all, Alessandro was also here with them, and that crazy sex addict was the last person Han wanted to see.
Still, he walked forward and followed her out.

The mansion’s expansive compound featured a grand fountain at its center, its water jets gracefully spraying arcs of crystal-clear water. Surrounding the fountain was a meticulously maintained garden, lush with vibrant blooms and manicured hedges. Along the far walls of the compound, numerous cars were neatly lined up, their exteriors gleaming in the sunlight. Closer to the entrance, three vehicles were parked with precision: two sleek luxury cars and a rugged off-road vehicle positioned horizontally, one behind the other.
The one at the front which was a sleek black Rolls-Royce Phantom had its doors open, a man casually leaning against it. He was tall, dressed in a crisp gray suit that complemented his olive skin and dark, long hair packed into a low bun with fringes by the side of his head. His presence exuded a charm which was almost irresistible, and his piercing green eyes scanned the surroundings like a eager child waiting to his gifts for Christmas. Juan was twirling a pen in his hand as he stared intently at the mansion, waiting.
Behind him, another figure sat sideways in the open front seat of the second car, a deep navy Maserati. The contrast between the two men was stark. Where Juan looked refined, this man was rugged and wild. Alessandro’s features were shadowed by a faint stubble, and his unbuttoned black shirt revealed a chain resting against his chest.
"Are you going to keep doing that?" Alessandro asked, exhaling a plume of smoke as he leaned back against the car seat, one hand resting on his raised knee.
Juan smiled, his gaze flicking to him. "It’s been a while since I’ve been here, and even longer since I saw Master Aelion. What about you?"
Alessandro took another drag from his cigar and shrugged. "I got here recently, but not to the mansion. Came to help Han deliver someone to the dungeon."
"I see. Think we’ll get to see him?"
Alessandro laughed, shaking his head. "Not a chance. The guy doesn’t waste time with the likes of us. He only bothers with people like grumpy Jania—which, let’s be honest, is why you’re really here, isn’t it?" He raised a brow, a smirk tugging at his lips.
Juan’s grin widened. "You know me so well, Andro."
Alessandro snorted. "Don’t flatter yourself. Everyone here knows you’re crazy about that grumpy-ass woman."
"Your mother is the grumpy ass," a sharp voice cut in before Juan could respond. "And it’s definitely not me, you bastard."
Jania strode out of the mansion, her irritation etched into every deliberate step. Her gaze landed on Juan, who leaned casually against the car, smirking as if her annoyance was a personal victory.
"Jania, my day is instantly brighter with your lovely greetings," Juan teased, turning his grin toward Han, who had followed behind her. "And Han! What a pleasure. My day is truly perfect now."
Han didn’t spare him a glance, walking behind Jania without a word.
Jania ignored Han’s indifference, narrowing her eyes at Juan. "Maybe I wouldn’t have to greet you so lovingly if you’d just shut the hell up for once," she shot back, her words accompanied with an icy smile before turning serious. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm
"Juan," she snapped, her tone biting. "I didn’t realize we were hosting stray dogs today. Why the hell aren’t you in Columbia?"
Juan’s smirk widened as he straightened up. "Always a pleasure to see you too, Jania. Still as charming as ever, I see. You know, I missed your sharp tongue." His gaze swept over her, unbothered by the daggers she was glaring at him.
"Answer the damn question."
Juan sighed theatrically, holding his chest as if her words had wounded him. "I missed you, querida. Couldn’t stay away any longer. I asked my uncle for permission to come help out, and as luck would have it, I heard a few deliveries were scheduled for the mansion. It’s destiny, don’t you think?"
Jania’s glare hardened. "Too bad I don’t believe in destiny, because if I had my way, I’d never see your face again. Unfortunately, now that you’re here, I’ll just have to endure it. Now, are you going to do the job you were sent here to do, or should I do it for you?"
Juan took a slow step forward, his grin never faltering. "Jania, my heart–"
"Don’t call me that," she cut him off sharply, her voice like steel. "And don’t come any closer."
Juan chuckled, raising his hands in mock surrender. "As you wish, my love. I’ll keep my distance. Seems there’s a long list of things you’d like me not to do today."
Jania sneered. "You’d be doing me a favor if you just didn’t do anything at all."
