Transmigrated to Game World with SSS Wife-Chapter 88: Path of Annihilation—Finality
"Progenitor, wake up dammit!!" Elise screamed as she constructed another barrier.
Moments after Nick had killed Yck, he went catatonic and lay on the ground, useless and sleeping. To make matters worse, 2 other commanders decided to make their appearance right there and then.
Due to her natural affinity to necromantic and common Elven magic, Elise was fairly strong in her own right. However, a single commander was worth at least 5 A-Rank raiders. She was in the small space between an A-Rank and S-Rank mage, so if she faced just one commander she probably could win.
Against 2 at the same time though? The only hope was to survive long enough for the Progenitor to wake up.
'You have to be the one who can eradicate demons... you have to.' Elise silently begged as she constructed yet another barrier around the civilians and herself.
The commanders were relentless in their attacks, draining Elise's magic with a violent fury. She screamed as she held out her hands, doing her best to support the barrier.
Cracks formed around it like a spiderweb, threatening the entire constitution of this feeble defense. She had to condense it, or else...
Elise looked behind her at the civilians: elders, children, mothers and fathers and sisters. Even though sacrificing some of them to condense and strengthen her barrier made sense, she couldn't.
The stupid Progenitor was rubbing off on her!
Taking one glance down to the stupid Progenitor, a small hope that he'd wake up flashed through her mind. This hope was quickly crushed, of course.
Screaming as even more cracks formed on the barrier, Elise focused all of the energy she had left into reinforcing it. The cracks began mending together, returning to its former state as an appropriate shield.
For now.
'Please wake up...'
...
'What the... this isn't real!'
Amelia whimpered as the 4 commanders descended from Oblivion. Even though their eyes were blocked by their armor, somehow Amelia knew that they were scanning the area, trying to find the people who killed their army.
A shuffling on her back alerted her to Juliana. She was squirming in Amelia's grasp, trying to break free.
"Hey, put me down! You think we can beat them playing piggy back?!" Juliana screamed, though it was more out of fear than her usual abrasive attitude. Even if she'd say otherwise.
Though, it didn't make much sense to drop her right now. They were still on top of a tree, after all.
"Let's get to the ground first, Juls." Amelia said right before the entire world turned upside down.
Swoosh!
One of the commanders raised their hand and with a simple flick of the wrist sent a blast so powerful it cleaved the tree in half.
Amelia screamed as she tried to set herself straight, at the same time reaching through the air for Juliana. She couldn't see her, all Amelia could see was the cracked sky overhead and some branches thrown by the broken trees. However, she knew that Juliana had to be close by.
Air whistled between her fingertips, followed closely by loose branches. They cut at her hand, but this time she wouldn't falter. Amelia simply closed her eyes and willed Juliana's connection into existence.
'Come on, come on, come on!'
"Ahh!" She let out a soft sigh of relief as she felt Juliana's fingers connect with her own, an interlocking promise of protection.
Juliana had always been the hero so far, the closest thing to a savior besides only Nick. However, it was Amelia's turn.
She knew climbing trees better than anyone. And even if the demons destroyed her childhood hobby, that wasn't a fact that was going to change anytime soon.
Feeling her armor switch, that recent aura of instinct and confidence washed over Amelia. The same one that helped her ascend would allow her to descend.
Squinting her eyes, Amelia took the image of branches flying into her face in stride. She held Juliana close to her, trying to ignore the fact that Juls breasts were bigger than her own.
'What kind of thought is that!'
Amelia squealed as she willed herself to focus. The trunk beneath her feet became a blur as she ran, weaving through branches left and right.
Within just a few seconds the ground had become visible again. Though she swore she could see... people?
Crack!!
The demon had sent another blast, sending hundreds of tree crowns into the sky and crashing down. Now that she was reaching the surface, Amelia could truly appreciate the damage this demon was causing.
Thousands of branches were crashing into the canopy. Most of them were stopped by the branches that still remained, but a few of them still remained.
Amelia could hear one of those people below scream a command, and although the voice sounded familiar she couldn't exactly remember his name. Just a second after his command, a buzzing sound filled the air. Turning her head just slightly out of curiosity, she saw that a barrier had been erected.
'Are they raiders?' Amelia wondered, momentarily distracted just as a branch came into view.

"Ow, FUCK!!!" Juliana screamed as her back was slammed into the branch. It was a thick one since they were practically at the forest floor now.
A sickening crunch could be heard as Juliana absorbed most of the contact. Her back arched unnaturally as blood involuntarily flew from her mouth, covering Amelia's nose, eyes, and mouth.
Amelia didn't have a chance to process this or freak out. The impact caused them to topple off the branch uncontrollably, and this time Amelia was the one to slam into a hard surface.
Pain flared through her back as the taste of iron filled her mouth. Breathing became a Herculean task, each in and out feeling as though her stomach was filled with rocks.
Amelia looked up as black spots began dancing through her vision. Because she was so hazy, it almost looked like the 4 commanders attacking the barrier were just one of those spots.
Then the barrier broke.
