Transmigrated to Game World with SSS Wife-Chapter 87: Path of Annihilation—Ruins Pt.2
"What the fuck is going on? You understand me still, don't you? Or should I twist this blade in deeper, and maybe then you'll understand?"
Nick growled as he held the hilt of his Fang, already feeling the blood soak through his leather gloves. A small, small part of his heart twitched as he saw pain enter Juliana's face. Even though he knew it was a fake, that didn't mean he enjoyed this expression on her face.
When he made it home, he was going to make it up to the real Juliana.
'I'm going to get you the biggest pint of ice cream, I promise.'
Nick's steely gaze never betrayed this inner turmoil. All Juliana could see was a wild warrior, one who couldn't wait to vanquish this enemy in front of him.
As she stared, she realized that he was truly the king. That he was the one who would usher in a new age after the gods. More than that, she knew...
That she would not live to see this age.
"Are you deaf now? Tell me what the fuck is going on, and I'll kill you for real."
Averting the glare of her true king, Juliana knew that what he was saying was true. Somehow, he was already precise with his destruction. When he struck her with his blade, he had made sure to hit a nonlethal part so that he could maximize the amount of pain inflicted.

Even though she tried to hide from his glare, it burned through her skin all the same. Anger was emanating from him like a malleable weapon, as if it was a second sword. If she didn't fight back right now...
He must not enter that monolith, Valkyrie. Not until the ants finish gathering their food.
An intense pain flared through Juliana's mind. This pain was far worse than anything the [King of the Cosmos] in front of her could inflict. It was the pain of a Progenitor imprinting their command upon his Valkyrie's mind.
If she disobeyed, if she failed, her very essence would be scattered across Oblivion where the... others would feast on it.
Which made it clear what she had to do. If she could not fight, she would talk. After a few millennia, she was confident in her abilities to—
"I see you need more encouragement!" Nick screamed, almost beside himself with rage.
In one quick jerk of his hand, he sliced apart half of her intestine, dealing far more damage than he had expected to.
Blood poured like a waterfall, covering his hands and body and face within seconds. He watched with a complete lack of mercy as this doppelganger's face turned a sickening blue, losing its life more by the second.
She wanted to talk now; she really, really wanted to. It was just that her mouth was filled with blood. Grabbing onto his arm for support as she fell to the ground, she could feel the nasty tendrils of Oblivion reaching already.
Long, dark hands reached into her mind, squeezing each reflection as it shattered. A million thoughts defining her personality were ripped from her within just a second. Even Nick could see that she was little more than braindead now.
'What the hell?!' Nick thought, certain that death did not have this profound of a side effect. He had seen plenty of dead people in his life, and none of them looked quite as empty as this.
They looked like they had found some kind of peace in the next life. They looked like, after a long life of struggle, they finally found real joy. Like their existence still mattered.
Nick let out a low sigh of disbelief as he whispered, "What the fuck?"
His fang had done quite a bit of damage in just a short amount of time. After ripping her intestines open, blood had turned even her raven-black dress into an unsettling dark red. Her normally bright red hair now sat in a puddle of her own blood, becoming far darker as a result.
None of that compared to the emptiness of her eyes. An indescribable nothingness.
'She's not going to be giving any answers then.' Nick thought as he looked past her to the monolith. That kind of fate... it would never happen to any of his Valkyries. Not a single one.
Whatever it was that did this to the fake Juliana... was an enemy of Nick now. For eternity.
Taking in one last deep breath, Nick took the care to walk around her corpse before placing his hand on the monolith. The next second, he was teleported away once again.

'A boss fight?' Nick thought as he surveyed the room.
The sight instantly reminded him of some grim boss fights from a souls-like game. Blood seemed to be the definitive choice of design for the room.
Blood dripped from the ceiling and matted the floors and walls. Off in the distance was some kind of construct he figured was a type of throne. This one was circular by design and had no back though.
Of course, its surface was also matted with blood.
Behind the throne, 3 tattered banners fell from the wall. Although they were heavily damaged, somehow, each of the insignias was completely visible. More than that, some sort of knowledge inside him arose as he saw these insignias.
'Hesta?' Nick wondered, knowing that she had something to do with his system ever since she talked to him in the Oblivion throne room thing.
But no, she was silent.
He was certain he never saw these insignias in the game though. However, their meanings were as clear as day to him.
The one on the left signaled bravery, the one in the middle signaled nihilism, and the one on the right signaled treachery.
For some reason, he knew one more thing. These were the 3 sins that Asmodeus embodied.
Nick braced himself as the entire secret room began shaking.
