That evening, with no choice but to follow the royal command, Scarlet and some of her guards boarded a military space ship and set off for planet Zord. She was not alone, Fey went with her and so did Adler.

In addition to this group, reporter Jelly, news anchor Chris, and a camera crew also went with them. On Esong’s insistence, ten mecha warriors from his death thunder army also joined them.

Scarlet could not help thinking that she would be the second most protected person on this mission after the emperor.

Unlike the usual short trips, this one would be a long one, taking one whole day and a half. Planet Zord had been picked because the Xenoan empire and the Sun star empire were not very distant from it.

It was neutral territory that was close enough to home for everyone to have a sense of security and also near in case they needed to make a quick exist. If they used warp speed, the journey could be cut into half and they could arrive or leave in a few hours.

However, politics was at the heart of this meeting and everyone wanted to show off their authority. Apparently the last one to arrive would be making some kind of power move. It was one of those look I made you wait for me situations.

It was a stupid power move, in Scarlet’s opinion. The first to arrive could get a lay of the land, the best positions and more time to have fun, if fun was on the menu. The last was more vulnerable, but this was not her mission, she was simply tagging along.

In order to pass time on this long journey, Scarlet locked herself away in her cabin and went off to the underworld with Severus.

At this time, they were meeting with other guardian reapers who were going to another world for the mission. She was happy that there would be a familiar face accompanying her, Frost and they were engaged in conversation when the leader of the mission stood up.

"Who is that?" she asked.

He was a grim reaper whose face was all tattooed. It was not just the face, the arms too from what she could tell because his black tight sweater was folded up to his elbows. He was not a familiar one to her but again, the underworld was a very big place and she only knew a handful of reapers.

"Cipher, he is number ten on the leaderboard."

"Everyone, listen carefully to the details. We are going to a world called Nordem; it’s not a very nice world so bring your own pillows and food. We will be looking for this," He waved his hand and everyone got a look at a bird shaped silver artifact.

"It belongs to the god of strife; you all know what happens when the trinkets of a deity are lost on a world. It suffers greatly or receives great blessings until those blessings trigger the occupants in bad ways and turn them into monsters.

Now, Nordem is not on the blessed side, we all know what strife is, its misery. The world was bad enough before but it has literally gone to shit now. The number of death has catapulted so evil souls, soul eaters; monsters and many other things have made it their home. Our mission is to locate the artifact, bring it here and we will be rewarded greatly.

I am the leader of this mission and I will only sound one warning, no heroics and no surprises." He looked at Scarlet when he said, ’surprises.’ Everyone noticed and they laughed.

Scarlet also looked at the reaper behind her, "He is probably talking to you." She said.

"No, I am talking to you Scarlet hound and your hound." He looked at Severus.

In a very serious voice, he warned them, "If you give me problems I will throw you off the mission immediately. We will meet many teams of warrior reapers that are hunting monsters and evil souls, ignore them and let them do their duty as we do ours, we are not there to fight or exchange words."

Scarlet had not been in the underworld for long but she had already been involved in two entanglements with warrior reapers that involved Lythia intervening and punishing them. She had not earned the nickname Lythia’s pet for nothing.

But Lythia would not be on Nordem to save her ass if a fight was started and a high level warrior reaper beat her up. Of course, she would not be killed and she would recover within an hour from the beating but it would be a nuisance and a waste of time.

Scarlet raised her hand and Cipher sighed.

"What is it?" he asked her reluctantly.

"What if they start the fight?" she asked.

"Should we just sit back and allow ourselves to be beaten? Or do we run like the cowards they say we are."

Cipher took a deep breath, sighed and said, "Cowards live longer. I care more about the rewards from the mission than a pissing contest with warrior reapers. I swear on our lord deity, if you take one step wrong step..."

Severus growled and the room shook, he was warning Cipher.

Scarlet raised her hand and Cipher closed his eyes, moving his head around as if he was already exhausted.

"What is it now?" he asked in an irritated voice.

"If I am searching for the artifact and an evil soul attacks me or a human, am I allowed to fight it off or capture it?"

"You can defend yourself." He said.

"But can I pursue capture it?" she asked insistently.

"No, okay, no, you are not a warrior reaper so no, just do what we are there for." He raised his voice and pointed at her agitatedly.

Severus growled again, warning him.

Cipher coughed and glared at Scarlet. "Come and pick up your transportation devices, they will allow you to go in and out of Nordem as you please for the duration of the mission. When it’s over they will stop working so we must all leave once the mission is over.

It could take a month or a year, I hope we can do it in less time but Nordem is a big world, with many cities and the deity of strife has not given us a starting point because he claims that he was in human form and drunk when the artifact went missing."

Everyone stepped up and received the round glass ball, which had snow inside.

"This is a snow globe." She said as a matter of fact.

"Move along." Cipher told her.

She scoffed and left, returning to her seat.

"Making friends I see." Severus said.

Scarlet smirked and answered, "What can I say, I am pretty famous everywhere."

"You are enjoying annoying him, aren’t you?" Frost asked her.

She raised her hands defensively and said, "He was annoyed the moment he looked at me; I just figured that I would take it all the way. But hey, which of my questions did not make sense? I am not going to be some warrior reaper’s bitch, okay. They like to play with us guardians like dogs with balls. If one of them crosses me, I will defend myself and if I am kicked off the mission, so be it."
