Chapter 425: Mother-daughter date

In the desirable time, Scarlet finished her broadcast, prepared foods to give out to winners of the lottery, fed Justin and put him down for an afternoon nap then prepared herself for the mother-daughter date.

The three of them met downstairs in the lobby, a maid that worked for her mother tagged along with Illa.

Her father had come as well, whether it was to tag along or simply ensure that Mega did not chicken out, Scarlet was unsure.

"Bring my wife home safely." He told Scarlet.

"Yes Mr. Su." Scarlet sonorously replied.

"Okay, let’s go teach some kiddos how to bowl like professionals." Mega stretched her arms, and then cracked her knuckles.

"No, no, I told you, Illa my little precious darling is staying with me." Dorian persisted.

He took Illa who was sucking her thumb from the maid.

As he cuddled his daughter and hummed a song to her, Illa laughed and clapped. freewebnøvel.coɱ

"We will meet you in London, we are going to have a father-daughter date as well. We are going to watch chicken patrol, eat some pumpkin porridge, take a bath, try to crawl and wait for mommy. If you return late then we will be in bed."

Scarlet could see her mother melting with a sudden sadness and desire not to part with her baby. Not on my watch, she thought.

She tugged on her mother’s arm forcefully and pulled her to the car.

Esong took the driver’s seat, choosing to drive so that Scarlet and Mega could get a chance to talk if they wished.

As for himself, he turned on some of Scarlet’s music and distract himself.

"Mother, you look beautiful." Scarlet looked over her mother’s outfit and said.

Mega had taken her advise and she was dressed in jeans and an orange shirt. She even had danglers in her ears, and her hair had been styled in a pony tail but two curls were falling down the left side of her face.

"Your sister Fey helped me do the hair, how is it?" Mega asked.

"On point." Scarlet said.

"Carolyn picked out the jeans." Her mother added.

"That’s great." Scarlet replied.

What she wanted to ask was did they apologize for their actions?

"She told me that you ripped into them like a baby bull when I left." Mega laughed and touched Scarlet’s head gently.

"My sweet girl, you have finally grown up enough to understand the heart of a parent."

"Mother," she drawled.

Scarlet smiled sweetly and wheedled like a little child, saying in a childish voice. "Mother, I am sorry if I was not a good daughter before."

"Tch, when have you not been a good daughter? I don’t recall that at all." Mega chuckled and gently rubbed her thumb along Scarlet’s ears.

"I am grateful that you have a memory like that of a bee. In that case, I can keep misbehaving as I wish and you will never remember."

Mega hissed at Scarlet and tugged on her ear.

"You dare!" She snarled at her.

Hiss

Scarlet winced and raised her head up. "Mother what happened to you never beating me?"

Mega pinched her cheek softly and Scarlet pouted.

"Esong, mother is pinching me." She complained.

Esong turned back briefly with a smile on his face.

"You must have done something bad, I am standing with mother on this one."

"Mmm, I have been betrayed. Mother, Esong is betraying me right now." She turned around and reported to her mother.

Again, she pouted playfully.

"Ooh, who dares to betray my beloved daughter? Should I beat him up for you?" Mega played along.

"Mother, that’s a betrayal to me who is loyal to you." from the front, Esong said.

With light banter, a positive vibe and lots of laughter, they soon arrived in London.

The lights in London were brighter, the streets busier and the noise certainly louder.

It was if they had transitioned from a small to a big city.

"No wonder we are being told to move here this place is filled with life. Its not even my first time seeing it and yet I am still blown away."

Scarlet lowered the window of the car and stuck her hand out.

The slightly cold wind passed through her fingers, travelled over her hand and entered the car.

"It’s cold, close the window." Her mother complained.

Scarlet did as her mother wished but she could help but wonder if Mega would be able to keep up tonight.

If this little chill in the air was uncomfortable to her, then the night fun would need to be wrapped up in an hour.

"Should we eat first?" She asked.

"I could eat." Mega answered.

Esong drove them straight to one of the restaurants near the bowling alley. It was in a mall, that was busy with crowds of people going from one shop to the other.

Scarlet also saw people with posters, glow sticks and other things used in concerts or fan meetings.

"What’s going on here?" She asked Esong.

He looked at the girls who were waiting for the elevator and replied, "There is some kind of private concert for someone’s birthday in the restaurant at the top most floor.

I wanted us to have dinner there but I was a minute late in booking.

I thought about grabbing it using my authority as the governor but you wouldn’t like it if you found out so I settled for this place. I hear their deserts are excellent though."

Walking hand in hand with Scarlet, Mega listened to all that Esong said. What he said, she had an opinion about.

"She is uncomfortable using her authority to order others around. Even using nobility or royalty gives her a headache."

Scarlet shrugged, it was who she was.

"It just feels wrong sometimes, that’s just me. We have over fifty restaurants now on the Blue star so why commandeer one using my office as a governor?

When I was dropping Justin off to school on Saturday we met a bit of traffic at the school gate. This one woman rolled down the windows of her car and shouted at the school guards, why are nobles and commoners using the same entrance? Do you know how much of my time you are wasting?

So, I rolled my window down as well and shouted at her, if I can wait, so can you."

"Woooo! That’s my girl."

Mega slapped Scarlet on the ass abruptly.

Scarlet’s eyes widened in shock and she hissed.

"Mother," she uttered in a surprised voice. "Are you drunk?" She added.

"Have you seen me drinking?" Mega asked her.

They found seats in a private area of the restaurant next to a large window with a view of a statue of one of the empire’s legendary battleships.

On top of the statue was a hologram showing its legendary battles and the pilots who flew it.

"It’s nice to see other professions glorified for a change rather than mecha warriors, no offense hubby."

Scarlet hastily added her intension not to insult his profession.

Esong shrugged and tilted as his head slightly before righting it.

"That’s cool, we already know that we are the best. This statues in honor of every profession thing is a new law made by the emperor to instill a feeling of pride in everyone at every level.

I heard the farmers are getting one too, in Blue city."

As he explained, they all tapped a few icons on the high tech table they were sharing which had a menu.

"Look, they have added omurice already." Mega noted. "Esong do you want to try it?"

"I only want the one my wife makes." Esong answered.
