Transmigrating from a zombie world to become the mecha kings wife-Chapter 426: Mother-daughter date__2
Chapter 426: Mother-daughter date__2
"What a faithful stomach my son-in-law has!" Mega said with an eye roll.
Does this mean he never eats out? What does he do when he is away for work?
She did not believe that he only ate what her daughter cooked.
"I want crab cakes." Scarlet said.
If they looked as good as they did in the image on the menu they were bound to be tasty.
"I will get meat balls and spaghetti." Esong said.
Scarlet stuck her tongue out playfully and then laughed at Esong’s choice.
"That’s my man, always faithful to meat." She joked.
"I am, and they have grilled Buffalo on their menu. Isn’t it too soon for anyone to be selling Buffalo already?"
He frowned, his eyebrows folding inwards as his thoughts worked out all the scenarios under which a restaurant could have meat from animals that so far only existed on Zord.
Even the Buffalo meant to be imported had yet to arrive.
"Maybe someone really connected owns this restaurant." She suggested.
"Or a Zordin invested in this restaurant and is providing the meat." Mega alternatively suggested.
"Do I need to look into this?" Esong asked himself.
If someone had made a secret trade agreement behind the empire’s back it was a crime of significant proportions.
Scarlet could see Esong’s mind spinning and calculating. She didn’t like it, he had been home for less than a day, more work meant less family time. In six days he would be gone again.
"Can we eat first, the restaurant will be here tomorrow. Also, that would be RGB territory, forward your doubts to captain Zorl.
Don’t be involved any more than you have to be."
Their food was delivered quickly by a robot butler, Esong paid and they set out to having a wonderful dinner.
After food, they ordered for dessert, ice cream in all their cases.
From the restaurant it was on to a shopping spree and Scarlet bought for Mega clothes and jewelry.
They even bought matching mother-daughter outfits which they tried on and took pictures which she shared immediately on star net.
After this, they went to the bowling alley as planned.
The first easiest and most notable thing was the design of this bowling alley. On earth, lanes were straight, here, some went all the way up, others were curved and there were even lanes built like obstacle courses.
The other most notable thing was the warning notice projected from different holograms.
"Use of mental strength to play is strictly forbidden."
The warning went on to show players who had destroyed lanes, crushed balls into walls, or hit others as they used kinesis to control the ball.
When it came to the population, one of the easiest things to notice was that most of the people here were bowling in pairs of two or groups of three, four and the numbers went up from there. Nobody appeared to be there on their own.
The lanes went all the way from easy mode to impossible mode.
"What the heck is impossible mode?" Asked Esong.
Esong cracked his knuckles and answered, "It is the thing I am going to destroy tonight."
’Aah, what a cocky guy.’ she thought.
She tapped him on the back and encouraged him with a smile. "Go on darling, leave nothing standing. Mother and I will play the easy mode first then come and support you."
"Alright." He nodded, kissed her on the cheek and left.
As soon as he left, Mega unwrapped her arm from around Scarlet’s. She looked in the direction Esong was moving and sighed pitifully.
"I really hope they have that thing....er...insurance, or they mecha warrior proofed the game. Those guys are trained to tear ten thousand foot monsters apart with their arms and minds if it comes down to it. What do you think he will do to that impossible course if it proves stubborn?"
Scarlet looked away from Esong’s disappearing back and sighed. He liked to break things, of that she was certain. "Well, it’s a good thing we own ten percent of this bowling alley then. If he ruins anything they can take it out of our dividends."
Her mother pulled her over to the easy section which was mostly occupied by parents and children.
She had flashbacks of attending class with Justin and his friends. She had dropped that class for a reason.
Some of the children were sitting in chairs with helmets on their heads and controlling their aim using technology.
Others were handing their balls to small creepy one eyed robots with stick thin arms to bowl for them.
"Mother, maybe we should try the average lane. You can come back with Illa or Justin and do the easy mode. I think it’s too easy for me to have a good time."
They used an escalator , standing still until it deliver them to an entirely new section of the bowling alley.
Here, even solo rooms were available for those who wanted a more intimate bowling experience. Of course, technology was included as well making it immersive and thrilling, connected to the virtual world. One could compete from here with someone in the capital or another planet.
Scarlet and Mega started playing, choosing manual mode at Scarlet’s encouragement.
"Mother, do you need me to teach you?" Scarlet asked her.
"No way, I am a former hunter, if I cannot throw one ball to hit a target then I am useless."
With the way her mother was boasting, Scarlet stepped aside and watched with a sly smile on her face.
Mega picked up a ball, lifted it high and raised on leg as well.
Scarlet tilted her neck and thought it was an oddly familiar stance, resembling that of someone playing dodge ball not bowling.
"You are doing it wrong mother." she called out.
"Shush, I have been doing this longer than you. I was aiming and hitting things before you were born." Mega replied.
Oh really, you have been bowling longer than me? Did this empire have a bowling alley before I came along? In her mind, this thought danced around, dipped in the sweet sugars of sarcasm.
How many times had her mother used that you were not yet born when I was accomplishing this line? Or you were in the womb when I killed this or that?
"Suit yourself," Scarlet replied sonorously with a cheeky grin on her face.freewebnøvel.com
