Transmigrating from a zombie world to become the mecha kings wife-Chapter 431: Baby’s first picnic
Chapter 431: Baby’s first picnic
Putting aside what looked like petty jealousy on Esong’s side, Scarlet took Justin’s small hand and led the way to the temple.
As they climbed the steps, Justin chattered on and on about all the things which Cecily and him had been up to. He even told her about his crafting project and Eden’s paintings.
"They are pretty mommy, I want to draw pretty pictures too." he smiled like a beautiful little silver haired angel.
"Does this mean you want to learn how to paint?" she asked him.
"Yes, I want to learn. I want to draw Koko." he answered.
She stopped walking, tugged lightly on his arm and waited for him to look up at her.
"Baby, why would you draw Koko when you can draw me, your mommy?" she asked him.
Was he falling in love already? He was too young, she was not ready to lose her position as his favorite person in the whole world.
She touched her forehead dramatically as if the shock was too much for her to process.
Justin looked at Esong. Esong shrugged and shook his head, completely lost as well.
"Mommy, I will draw you first." Justin cleverly changed his words. "Then daddy, Illa, uncle Adler and Koko." he added.
Following the others lazily, Markay and Carolyn tagged along at the back. They were holding hands and speaking in hushed tones.
"She did not look at me even once, I bet she is still angry with me." Carolyn said.
"Don’t worry, I am sure she will forgive you if we explain." Markay assured her. freeweɓnovel.cѳm
A new addition to the Sunday temple worshipping ritual was Elroy. Using the excuse of training or soreness, he often dodged the prayer and incense lighting session.
He was even further back behind Markay and Carolyn. He was walking with Beord who had not stopped smiling since morning. His good mood agitated Elroy for some reason.
"Do you know that she has not replied to any of my texts since yesterday?" Elroy asked Beord.
With a worn out sigh, Beord increased his pace to put a distance between himself and Elroy.
Elroy jogged and caught up with him.
"I don’t understand why she is so mad at me. How does the way I live my life affect hers?" he continued.
Beord stilled his feet and grabbed Elroy’s arm roughly. He was about to say something when he noticed just how ripped Elroy had become. He had grown in size, he was taller and his biceps were bigger and well defined.
"Good lord, do you live in the gym?" he blurted out.
"Duh! I am sports man." Elroy answered. It was obvious that working out was a part of his daily routine due to his line of work.
Beord shrugged that off with a wave of his hand. What Elroy did with his body was not his business. If he wanted to resemble a mecha warrior, good for him.
"Forget it, I wanted to tell to quit nagging us and bombarding us with texts about Scarlet and her nosiness into your life style. If you hate it so much go and talk to her. She is your older sister, what are you afraid of?"
Elroy lifted his hand and showed Beord two fingers, "One Esong Wu, two, Adler Su."
Not to mention Tion, their mother, father, Beord himself and Carolyn. No one in the family was more protected than Scarlet even though that protection was now unwarranted in his opinion because she had mental strength.
"Then stuff it down your throat and do what you want." Beord slapped him on the back and pushed him forward.
They arrived inside the temple and the priest led them through a round of prayers, they lit incense and made donations.
As soon as they finished, Scarlet, Esong and Justin went to the park. Even then, she did not say a word to her siblings.
It was the perfect day for an adventure in the park. The sun was warm, peeking through the leaves on the trees. It gave life to the grass, flowers and butterflies all around the park.
The family of three arrived quickly at the Sunny side park in London. It was both a park and a water sports adventure ground. It had been built in the middle of the city so that workers could steal a few moments in there in the breaking hours of their long monotonous days.
They were not the only ones in the park, it was a famous place for tourists, families, couples and anyone who simply wanted to relax outdoors so it was filled with life before they arrived.
It was a heartwarming scene that Scarlet saw, children running around with parents, balloons and kites high in the air, the sound of an ice cream shop. All that was lacking were animals, pets to be exact, which is why Severus had come with them.
"Let’s have a picnic." Scarlet suggested.
"I packed a blanket, pillows and a tent." Esong said.
They settled under a willow tree, it’s drooping branches created a natural shade that shielded them from the direct rays of the sun. On the picnic blanket which Esong laid out, Scarlet spread out goodies. Cookies, sandwiches, milk, homemade lemonade, sweets, pizza, fruits in jars, a bottle of wine and cup cakes.
Esong whistled and rubbed his hands as he licked his bottom lip.
"You went all out my dear."
"Of course I did, it’s my baby’s first picnic." Scarlet replied.
Justin was so used to being around a variety of foods that this did not even excite him anymore. His eyes were on the slides which led to the kiddie swimming pool. Children of all ages were already playing and screaming at the tops of their lungs.
"The Carlzon’s are here." Esong mentioned.
She noticed Tion and his family, his wife Catherine had come too.
"Eden, do you want to slide and swim?" Justin shouted out the moment he saw his little study buddy.
Eden was holding a painting brush and a small foldable metal easel. In Scarlet’s opinion, the boy was not here to play but paint.
Justin’s request caused a fracture on the boy’s face as he frowned and looked at his parents with aggrieved and accusing eyes.
Tion nudged him forward, while Catherine took away the easel and paint brush. Little Eden was being forced to play even though he didn’t want to.
She wondered if this was being done because Justin was the governor’s son or if they wanted Eden to play.
"Tion let Eden do what he wants. If he doesn’t want to play, allow him to paint. Baby, I will slide and swim with you." Scarlet volunteered eagerly. She had already planned to spend all day playing with him. If she got exhausted, she would sleep under the shade.
By her side, Severus barked like a playful dog.
"I want to play too." he told her.
His longing to play in the water reminded her of the hounds she saw once in the dark rune village playing in a waterfall.
"Baby, Severus too wants to play. We can all play together, I even have a ball, let’s play with the ball."
"And the rest of the family is here as well." Esong whispered to her.
She tilted her head to the left slightly and saw her family and his. Everyone was here, including his mother, Emory.
