He had just managed to get back into his wife’s good books and he planned to keep it that way.

He too was puzzled as to why they were all here suddenly.

"Don’t mind us we are here to have fun separately." Her mother announced loudly making sure that Scarlet could hear her. "We brought our own food and drinks, we will not bother you at all."

They found different spots under different trees and set up chairs, tables and blankets, keeping a respectful distance between themselves and her.

"Mommy, hurry up." Justin whined.

He kept looking at the water slides inpatient, his entire body vibrating with excitement.

"Yes, yes, calm down my little munchkin." She pinched his puffed up cheeked.

"Wait for me, I am going to join you after speaking to my father." Esong lowered his head and said to her.

As she escorted Justin who was already in swimming shorts to the slides, Esong found his way to his father.

His grandparents, parents and siblings were sitting together.

His grandmother was laying out snacks on the table.

His father had his physical copy of stories about the Greek gods which he borrowed from Scarlet.

His mother was sulking and his siblings were watching a movie.

"Hello family." He greeted them at the same time.

"Hello son." His father replied first.

This was followed up by his grandparents and siblings. Emery did not bother to respond even though her voice had been restored according to his sister.

"So, how come you guys are here?" Esong asked them.

Cecily glared at him and hmphed. "You did not even tell us that you were planning to come to the park to have fun with our great grand baby.

If Mega Su had not told us about your plans and invited us to hang out at the park we would miss out on all the fun."

It was not a covert headquarters of some secret organization.

"So, what brings you by. Do you need something?" His grandfather asked him.

"Nothing, just curious. I should get back, we are going to play on the water slides." He pointed over to where Justin and Scarlet were already screaming as they fell into the pool of water with a splash.

"Is it safe?" Cecily frowned with worry all over her face.

"I taught him how to swim, don’t worry." He assured her.

Esong left his family and hopped over to the slides. There was a changing area in the buildings behind so he changed into shorts and joined his wife and son.

When others saw how much fun they were having, they joined in as well. It was the guys especially, Adler, Beord, Gregor and Elroy.

A few minutes later, Elon joined them too.

Carolyn and Markey stuck together, sharing ice cream and watching a movie.

Fey and Mega stayed on the blanket, playing with Illa while Dorian and Halley kicked a ball around.

Some time later, exhausted from a game of volley ball in the water with the others, Scarlet returned to the blanket to rest.

Not even ten seconds later, Adler joined her.

She barely raised her eyes to look at him and she kept her head down on a pillow. She eating small chocolate balls out of a red tin and relishing the rich taste on her tongue.

"Are we not on talking terms?" he asked her.

"With my favorite brother, never." she answered.

Still nudging him with her foot, she attempted to push him away lazily.

"Shouldn’t you be hanging out with your girlfriend? You should have brought her by the way. Now would be the perfect time to introduce her to everyone."

Adler groaned as if he was having a nightmare.

"Ooh, the horror!" he drawled.

"What is so horrifying about it?" she asked him.

Adler raised his head and looked furtively at Mega twice to see if she was paying attention to them. She was not, she was feeding Halley fruits.

He looked back at her and asked, "Can you imagine what would happen if mother found out that I was dating Arya?"

"She would be pleased that you have someone in your life to talk to besides me. She is great for you, not like that Amara who acted as if you were her possession.

You are older than me brother, it’s time somebody else in the family got married and had a child."

Adler chuckled and said, "You mean other than our mother."

Scarlet raised herself up, picked up a pillow and hit Adler in the face.

"Heeey!!" he slapped the pillow away.

"You just got back on my good side Brutus, don’t make me mad again." she warned.

"So speaking facts is wrong now." he replied defensively.

She rolled her eyes and kicked him again. "Speak on your facts. Do you want to be having babies when you are two hundred plus years? Or do you think that you will be this hot when you are two hundred fifty because I have got news for you..."

He shoved a phone in her face as she was explaining.

The man in the picture he was showing her was way too good looking for two hundred fifty seven. He was well groomed, had a head full of short grey and white hair.

She swatted the phone away with a pout.

"Hmph, he is an abnormality."

"He is a hunter." Adler informed her.

"Yeah well, give him ten years and he will be all wrinkly and pruny. Besides I don’t think Mr. abnormal over there is...." she stopped talking and sighed. "Oh what am I even saying. Just do what you want, you are a grown man."

She put the pillow back down and put her head down. It was better to sleep or visit the underworld for a while. She wanted to purchase a house in one of the villages before the children were born.

"Hey," Adler poked her.

She raised her head and sat up, and she looked at him with somewhat guilty eyes.

"I am sorry." she apologized.

She really hadn’t meant to take them all by surprise like that. It was just a heat of the moment thing.

"I know but I am not that easy, you have to send me meals and I mean breakfast, lunch and dinner for a month.

Watching them from a far, Carolyn rolled her eyes and whispered to Markay.

"Of course she forgives him and he forgives her. It’s like they have a secret club and the rest of us are not allowed in." She spoke with agitation in her voice.

"Baby, we can form our own secret club." Markay whispered to her.

She hissed at him, picked up a ball and hurled it at Scarlet and Adler.

It hit Adler on his back and he looked up.

"Hey!!" Scarlet at Carolyn.

She picked up the ball and threw it back.

"Who wants to play dodge ball?" Carolyn shouted as she threw the ball again, but this time, with much more force.

Scarlet caught it with one hand and gave Carolyn a fierce gaze.
