Chapter 433: Esong has a love problem

After a long day of fun, Justin went to sleep in his parents bed, dominantly taking the central position with his small head and arms holding his mother tightly.

While mother and son slept, the father was restless and fitful, so he gave up on the idea of sleep and flew in his mecha to the new, bigger and better headquarters of the mecha warrior’s association in London.

They were located on the outskirts of the city center, in a district that Scarlet had simply named district B.

Everything in the district was mecha warrior related, from the main offices, workers, housing to major shops. It had a population of about two and a half million people so far. That number was quickly rising as more retired mecha warriors, mecha crafters and combat schools opted to move in.

The headquarters of the mecha warriors never closed for a single minute, they were always open and active.

Esong was elated to find one of his close friends awake and at work. It was Folsom, and he was testing out new weapons in a closed testing room.

He went into the room, approaching carefully so that he would not end losing a finger or hand accidentally. Folsom was testing out a weapon which mimicked the movements of the crabs.

Anything that could injure or kill a mecha warrior was always studied and turned into a weapon.

Esong pressed a big white button and it made a loud noise.

Folsom turned off the weapon and turned around.

"Oh, why are you here?" he asked both surprised and not surprised at the same time.

Once upon a time, Esong was a workaholic who was always working, training or testing weapons. This had changed in the last six to eight months.

"I work here." Esong answered.

"No, you work here but sleep at home unless there is emergency duty." Folsom corrected.

"I couldn’t sleep." Esong answered as he sought out the nearest chair.

Folsom looked up at the corner and crossed his hands. All the cameras were turned off.

"Okay, let’s talk. What is bothering the happily married man who was pictured having fun in the park today? I can’t believe things like that make the news.

I mean, seriously, breaking news the governors and their families were seen having a fun day at the park!!

The media needs to take their work more seriously." He chuckled and pulled over a chair using kinesis.

He sat down next to Esong and crossed his legs. He also crossed his arms behind his neck and Esong frowned.

Folsom was exposing his overly hairy armpits that needed a trim, a desperate one.

"That is way too much pit hair." Esong said.

"No, this is the appropriate amount of recommended armpit hair for a man." Folsom assured him.

"Where do you get that bullshit? Are you still reading that nonsensical perfect noble man magazine?"

Folsom looked offended and he opened his mouth, gaping like a fish.

"Ah! do not slander the perfect noble man magazine. You are a hater because they said you have uneven eyes."

"A bunch of blind people." Esong mumbled.

What was uneven about his eyes? Did they come and measure them from his face? free𝑤ebnovel.com

"What is bothering you beside your uneven eyes? Why can’t you sleep? Please don’t tell me that we are going to be sent off on another one year long expedition."

Folsom groaned painfully at the thought of another long expedition.

"It’s not that." Esong told him.

Relieved Folsom took a slow breath and calmed himself.

"What is it then?" he asked curiously.

"I have a problem." Esong answered.

"Mm-hmm," Folsom encouraged him to talk.

Esong folded his arms across his chest and rotated his head from side to side, clearly agitated. He asked himself if talking to Folsom was even worth it.

Would he understand his quagmire or make fun of him? Occasionally Folsom spoke sense but half the time, he uttered pure balderdash.

Folsom was now intrigued, extremely because of Esong’s reactions. "Now I know for sure that this has nothing to do with work because you don’t agonize like this when it comes to it. It’s a personal matter, huh.

What is it? Is it the increasing number of admirers your wife has, did you have a fight with her? Is there more drama in the family outside the usual or did little Esong fail to rise to the occasion?"

He wiggled his eyebrows and smiled, looking directly at Esong’s crotch.

"Where are you looking?" Esong barked at Folsom. "Lift your eyes you dirty bastard. And for your information there is nothing little about me."

Folsom’s eyes moved down again and Esong bellowed loudly.

"Hey, eyes up."

Folsom chuckled as he took two beers out of his storage bracelet, he opened both and gave one to Esong.

Esong took two sips and set down the bottle.

"Isn’t this my wife’s booze?" he asked.

"I bought a few bottles from her." Folsom answered. "Stop diverting, out with it or leave me to my work."

"It’s not even your work." Esong mumbled.

Testing weapons was the duty of weapons and technical officers which Folsom was not. He did not even work in that branch of the army.

"I have to use these weapons in the field. I will be crazy to trust some desk worker’s opinion on it’s efficiency in the battle field. If I have not tested a weapon personally, I don’t use it."

Folsom explained himself passionately, looking at Esong and enduring that his point was driven home.

He waited for Esong to respond to this because he had ten examples lined up of how weapons had failed them in the field, occasionally.

"I think I love my wife." Esong blurted in a deadpan voice.

He was certainly expressionless when he said it, which Folsom did not understand. Was this a good or bad thing?

Folsom chose to go with a god thing.

"Well, err, congratulations." he answered in an unsure voice.

Esong groaned and buried his head in his hands.

"This is nuts, crazy, crazy crazy." he said repeatedly.

Folsom scratched his hair and took a sip of his beer, eyeing Esong in a confused manner.

"My guy, you are going to need to explain this to me. Isn’t it a good thing that you are in love with your wife? In fact, isn’t it supposed to be that way, a husband and wife should love each other."

Esong groaned again, face still in hands and Folsom shook his head. This was so confusing, it was best perhaps to let his friend explain himself.

It took another ten minutes of groaning and drinking for him to speak up.

"It’s terrifying Folsom, I am so tense and nervous. Most of all I am scared out of mind. She was angry with me for less than an hour today and in that time I almost lost my mind.

I wanted to grab her by the neck, kiss the shit out of her and command her to forgive me.

I don’t even know how to talk to her since I came to the realization that I love her. I have been trying to act normal but in my head I am second guessing everything I say.

Second guessing things is not a quality of a good mecha warrior, Folsom, you and I know that.

I deliberately made sure that our son slept with us tonight because I was trembling and scared to share the bed with her.

Ho!! this is crazy, crazy. What am I going to do?"

Esong groaned again and once more buried his head in his hands.

His bottle of beer was also empty.

"Oh boy, we are going to need to more alcohol, the strong kind." Folsom said.

This was going to be a long night.
