She was silent for a little while, even though she could feel the waves of need wafting off of him. He needed reassurance, it seemed.

She smiled at him as convincingly as she could and answered, "You know the answer to that already. There is none for me but you. Didn’t you just hear what Nyx said, i am the one, the one for you and the one for him which makes you the one for me.

If you want, we can take an oath and wish upon a star or tie a string. We can even lock a padlock or something like humans do and swear to love each other forever."

She raised her head and righted her body. She kept her back against his, leaning against his chest.

He breathed easier when he heard her words. It eased his heart when he heard her say it.

"I will always be good to you." He promised.

"I will make sure that you keep that promise." she answered.

The crowd below started to disperse and she figured it was time for them to do the same. She got rid of the green fireflies, sending them in the direction of the sky. They would burn out slowly as they continued flying.

Suddenly she heard Esong say, "Hey look, if it isn’t my human rival, out on a date with our favorite reporter."

Was this really a coincidence? What were the odds of Esong, newly turned grim reaper looking for someone to scare meeting his long term rival in a place where they had randomly landed. He was going to make trouble for sure. The two were like cat and mouse whenever they happened to be within touching distance of each other.

"Don’t..."

The word was barely out of her mouth when she felt the hold on her waist loosen. Helplessly, she watched him fly up to Zorl and Jelly who were unaware.

He grinned like a menace and then slapped Zorl on the back of his head. As expected, Zorl looked around wildly, shooting accusing glances to the people closest to them first.

"Who did that?" he touched the back of his head and asked.

Esong chuckled, directly into Zorl’s ear. In a girlish voice he said, "I did, me, Esong Wu."

Zorl looked around again, confused. "Did you hear that?" he asked Jelly.

Jelly shook her head and look around, confusion on her face as well. She tugged on his arm and pulled him, making her follow him as she hastened her steps. "You are hearing things now big baby, that’s why i have been telling you to slow down. You are working way too hard. It is not your duty to train the new RGB officers of the empire." frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓

Zorl shook his head. He was not hearing things, he was always focused no matter what he was doing. It had to be Esong, that bastard was somehow messing with me.

He disconnected his self shield and looked at the device. Maybe Esong had hacked into it somehow. There was also a rumor that he had armor or a mecha with invisibility abilities.

Zorl was sure, extremely certain that Esong Wu was the one messing with him.

Esong returned to Scarlet, a proud grin on his face. The satisfaction it held was more than any she had ever seen after he killed a mutated beast in the past.

"Are you proud of yourself?" she asked him.

Without shame, he nodded. "Very much my dear. When i see that man, it’s like all my cells scream, get him. He is very annoying, do you know that he is annoying?"

Scarlet rolled her eyes.

"He eats the food from our house when he visits and he takes left overs too but in public, he acts as if he barely knows us. He goes around saying bad things happen when the RGB mixes with nobility."

The more he complained, the more she smiled. None of the reasons he was giving was the true reason behind his rivalry with captain Zorl.

"Let’s go before you decide to ruin their date." she told him. "I think everyone is on a date tonight."

She waved her hand and in a green cloud, showed him an image on Carolyn and Markay. "These two are discussing their wedding at an amusement park."

"Who does that?" Esong muttered?

Scarlet moved on to Fey and Lloyd. "These two are.." she leaned forward. "Are they discussing a new mangosteen flavored snack?"

Esong looked closer and he shook his head. "I think it’s candy."

Both of them watched the couple and shook their heads in disapproval. These two were boring, even worse than Markay and Carolyn.

"Let’s see what Beord and Lanta are....." she froze and got rid of the image immediately. "They have sex every chance they get. Don’t they ever get tired of it?"

"She is the bird, right?" he asked.

"A harpy." she told him.

"A birdwoman." Two voices responded at the same time. "Are you really letting your brother marry a birdwoman?" Esong asked, alone this time.

"He is her the one." She replied and used air quotes when she said the one.

She created another crowd and peeped in on Adler and Arya. The two were training as if they were preparing for battle.

"I don’t think there is a difference between these two and the last two." she said.

Esong looked at those two with approval on his face. "She is training hard because she plans to be the second woman to become a member of my thunder death army. Your brother plans to put a ring on her finger before she does. I heard that he is going to ask your mother for the Su family ring."

Scarlet looked up in surprise. She had not heard about Adler wanting the family ring. Then again, as the next head of the family, he was entitled to it.

She peeped in on her parents. They were cozied up in front of a fire place. They were sitting down on a soft rug and besides them was a basket with wine and snacks. her father was reading to her mother. He was reading from an old copy of pride and prejudice with a torn cover.

"They win." Scarlet declared.

"The undisputed lord and lady of romance in the empire." He concurred. Then he frowned a little and said, "Of course, we don’t know what the emperor and empress are up to."

Scarlet didn’t waste a moment in looking in on them. The emperor was was laying facedown on a massage table, naked completely and the empress was giving him an oil massage. She was as naked as he was.

"Damn, she has worked for that throne." Scarlet giggled and got rid of the image.

When she turned to Esong, he had his eyes covered. He had covered them the moment he saw the first two seconds of naked bodies.

"Is it gone?" he asked.

"Yes." Scarlet giggled.

He peeped through gaps in his fingers and sighed in relief when he confirmed that the image was gone indeed. Looking at those two naked was just like looking at his parents naked and he never wanted to see that. "I think they have ruined the game. Let’s find something else to do." he suggested.
