Chapter 64: Chapter 64; They are my children.
"I don’t want to sleep now! Let’s wait for the kids to wake up first!" She had a terrible nightmare sighting that she had lost her husband and kids, and now, she didn’t want to close her eyes again.
"Okay..." He aligned the bed covers covering her up to her shoulders to keep her warm before pecking her forehead. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ
Seeing she was struggling to stay awake, he decided to sit there and chat with her and try to accompany her.
"The kids want to join the military academy, which ain’t a bad decision, but they are still so young and tiny." He was worried and in his opinion, he didn’t want them to join that place as young as they were, maybe probably when they were around fourteen to eighteen years old.
"Why would they want to? They are so tiny to go there!" Tang Fei was worried that they would be bullied by those other older military kids. How could she let them pass through that? They should be living a soft life.
"I tried to talk to them and stop them but they said, you will understand and allow them to join the military academy!" He held her hands sitting on the hospital bed facing her as they conversed face to face! This was what he had been dreaming about, having a simple chat so amicably without insults or arguing.
"I will talk to them! Did you talk to Huo Zhihao? Did you solve your disagreements? Has he calmed down?" She was worried that Huo Zhihao would resent him but it wasn’t his fault to begin with. He was a good father.
"Yeah! We did talk, but it’s hard to decipher a kid’s feelings, so I let him relax for a few days and get better first before we can have a heart-to-heart chat with him! I actually don’t blame him, I contributed to this!" He loudly sighed gazing into those sleepy eyes. He knew he had let his son down and he could resent him for not being able to rescue them on time.
Tang Fei suddenly pitied him; for the last five years, he had been nothing but a perfect and present father; what about her? She was never present! She couldn’t see these two argue in any way, she needed to do something to bridge this gap.
"Okay, I will talk to him about it and see what he has to say!" Tang Fei promised to counsel him bit by bit. It wasn’t fair to him.
"Mnnh... It’s okay, don’t pressure him!" He knew she could change his mind, and Huo Zhihao would agree to her resolutions, but at the end of the day, if he wasn’t ready to reconcile, he would be talking to him just perfunctory to show his mother that they were on good terms.
"I won’t! I will be careful, and for the Military, I think he has decided on that! I will talk to them and if they don’t change their minds, we will just allow them to follow their chosen paths!" She was their mother but wasn’t going to restrict and force them to follow her chosen career for them; they had the right to forge their own paths so long as it was the right path!
Huo Ting Cheng wasn’t surprised about that! Could she not be bothered with them going there? Could it be she didn’t have any heartache towards them? Or could it be because they didn’t have a tight bond, she didn’t care what they decided if it was good for them or not?
"They are my children! And I would want the best for them, I’m trying to redeem and repent myself! I’m not going to be that strict and bitter mom, right? Give them a chance to explore! You will see, on the second day, they will be calling for me to take them back home! They won’t last to the second day!" She was certain that, they couldn’t withstand that cruel training.
