Transmigration:The Villain Wants A Happy End Without His BeastHusbands-Chapter 51: A Pitiful Fox
The journey to Sunland City was fast.
The carriage, drawn by four spirit horses, cut through the blizzard without slowing, unaffected by the biting cold that swallowed the forest paths as they left the Heavenly Realm and crossed back into the Beast Realm.
Ningyan slept through most of it.
Exhaustion clung to him ever since his beast soul awakened, dragging him under no matter how hard he tried to stay alert. He only stirred when the cold seeped through even the thick, fur-lined robes wrapped snugly around his body.
He rubbed his eyes and turned his head.
Yan Wuhen leaned by the window across from him, gazing out at the white-drowned landscape beyond the glass.
"Are we there yet?" Ningyan asked, his voice rough with sleep.
Wuhen closed the window and turned to him, his expression serious.
"We are." He leaned closer. "And you’re not leaving my side, Yan’er. Not for a moment. We know Wuyin tried to poison me but whoever shot those arrows at you is still unknown."
Ningyan frowned. "I can take care of myself."
Wuhen smirked. "Indeed you can."
In the next instant, he moved, grabbing Ningyan by the waist and pulling him onto his lap.
Ningyan scowled, planting both palms against Wuhen’s chest and trying to push away. Wuhen only laughed, catching his wrist effortlessly and tightening his grip as he leaned in close.
"You know," he murmured, his breath warm against Ningyan’s cheek, "I haven’t gotten what I want from you yet, Yan’er. Don’t think I’ve forgotten."
Ningyan clicked his tongue internally.
He has been distracted, he thought grimly. Please. Let him stay distracted.
"There are more important matters," he said aloud.
Wuhen chuckled and leaned in, pressing a light kiss to his lips.
Ningyan stiffened but Wuhen didn’t deepen it. He simply smiled against his mouth and whispered, "Nothing is more important than you."
Ningyan rolled his eyes and tilted his head back, leaving a narrow space between them.
"How romantic," he said flatly.
The nine-tailed fox prince laughed and pulled him into a tight embrace, burying his face in the crook of Ningyan’s neck as if he never intended to let go.
Ningyan exhaled slowly.
Why keep resisting when it wasn’t working?
For now, he could rely on himself... on the faint hope of breaking the chain someday.
Only he could save himself. But.. how long?

As the carriages arrived at the Snow Fox Clan Lord’s manor, the estate rose before them in stark, wintry grandeur.
Pure white snow coated the rooftops, untouched and pristine, while fresh flakes continued to fall through the night sky. Ice-blue banners bearing the Snow Fox sigil hung from the eaves, snapping sharply in the wind.
A young fox beastman stepped into the inner courtyard gracefully. He was dressed in flowing white and ice-blue robes that matched his snowy hair and striking turquoise eyes. His white fox ears twitched faintly, and a long, bushy tail swayed lazily behind him as he walked forward, two guards flanking him.
Behind them emerged Tu Lanyin, looking as elegant and composed as ever.
Yan Wuyin was the first to disembark from the carriage. The attendants immediately moved to open the carriage behind him. The one carrying Ningyan and Yan Wuhen.
The Snow Fox Clan members approached, but Tu Lanyin remained standing at the entrance, her serene gaze focused on the visitors.
When Ningyan spotted her, he almost lifted a hand to wave but before he could, the Snow Foxes reached them.
The clan heir stepped forward, a gentle smile on his face, his pale skin tinged faintly pink from the cold. He bowed respectfully to Wuhen, his guards following suit.
"It is a pleasure to welcome you, Your Highness."
Ningyan hesitated, then bowed awkwardly as well.
"Yu Xuanli," Wuhen said coolly. "I won’t pretend the feeling is mutual. I came bearing bad news regarding my sister."
Yu Xuanli’s smile tightened. "I offer my condolences."
Despite himself, Ningyan couldn’t help but admire the Snow Fox heir. He was beautiful, almost unreal in an ethereal way.
He quickly caught himself staring and cleared his throat softly.
Yu Xuanli’s gaze shifted to him, lingering with open curiosity.
"I wasn’t aware you would be bringing a visitor," he said gently though there was something beneath his tone that made Ningyan straighten.
"This is Su Ningyan," Wuhen said, resting a possessive hand at Ningyan’s waist. "He is my lover."
"Oh." Yu Xuanli’s smile returned, thinner this time. "Then it’s a pleasure to have you here."
Ningyan smiled back, though he didn’t miss the way those turquoise fox eyes narrowed slightly.
"The pleasure is mine," Ningyan replied.
Yu Xuanli gestured toward the manor. "Please. Let us go inside."
They entered together, guards following close behind. Wuyin cast Wuhen a wary look before frowning and turning away.
The sleeping chambers were prepared quickly. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Once inside with just Ningyan and Wuhen, Yu Xuanli paused, his gaze flicking briefly between them.
"You don’t mind sharing?" he asked, just as Ningyan sat on the edge of the bed.
Yan Wuhen didn’t answer.
He was already removing his outer robe.
Yu Xuanli stared his cheeks, flushing a deeper pink than before.
Ningyan held back a laugh.
It seemed the Snow Fox heir had a crush on Wuhen. It was... almost adorable.
Maybe I should just pair them up, he thought idly. At least then Wuhen would be bound to him instead of me.
Out loud, however, he simply said, "Yes. We’ll be sharing chambers."
That earned him a sharp, spiteful look from Yu Xuanli.
Ningyan blinked, momentarily surprised. Though he recovered quickly. He had noticed the one-sided crush almost immediately, but he hadn’t expected the hostility to surface so fast.
He met Yu Xuanli’s gaze calmly.
"What’s the issue?" he asked. "Didn’t you hear him say that we’re lovers?"
Yu Xuanli’s hand clenched at his side.
"I did, but I didn’t—" He stopped himself and took a slow, steady breath before bowing slightly. "Your Highness... would you like to see Qinghe now?"
Wuhen looked at him, though his expression suggested his thoughts were elsewhere.
"Yes," he said after a moment. "But I need a favor first."
Ningyan straightened, curiosity piqued.
Yu Xuanli, on the other hand, looked eager.
"What is it?" he asked immediately. "I am always at your service."
Ningyan rolled his eyes.
"Make sure Wuyin does not enter Qinghe’s chamber," Wuhen said coolly. "Not under any circumstances."
Yu Xuanli frowned, clearly confused but he bowed nonetheless. "As you wish."
With that, he turned and left the chamber, his steps reluctant.
The moment the door closed, Ningyan’s gaze met Wuhen’s.
"Won’t that make him realize you know?" Ningyan asked quietly.
Wuhen nodded slowly. "The moment he saw me alive in the Dragon Manor this morning, I saw his shock, smelled his fear and disappointment."
"You think he’ll try to hurt Qinghe,"
Wuhen exhaled, a tired sound. "I just want to know why he did what he did."
And for the first time since meeting him, Ningyan felt genuine pity for Yan Wuhen.
