Trapped In A Marriage I Never Wanted-Chapter 88: I Beg You!
Matthias’s heart pounded as he felt his wife’s warm embrace. Initially, he’d been afraid she would scold him for what happened at the airport, but the reality was completely unexpected. Was what she was doing just an act to keep their relationship going? For some reason, seeing her suddenly acting sweet after her previously gloomy expression made him feel something was off.
His right hand slowly stroked his wife’s beautiful hair. "I went out with Sawyer earlier. I really wasn’t lying to you, honey."
"Did you think I would misunderstand seeing you suddenly hugged by Amber at the airport?"
Matthias immediately let go of the hug and knelt in front of his wife.
Victoria’s eyes widened when she saw her husband take the initiative to kneel before her. "Why are you kneeling all of a sudden?" She grabbed his hand. "Stand up, Matthias!"
"Why aren’t you angry like usual, Victoria? You always get angry whenever Amber hugs or almost kisses me. Why can’t you take your anger out on me this time?"
Victoria sighed sharply, crossing her arms. "I actually want to be mad at you. When Amber dragged you away, I was alone at the airport until Ansel picked me up. Luckily, I asked him to pick me up."
"If you want to be angry, just be angry, Victoria! If necessary, throw me out of this house! You can’t sleep with me tonight."
"I actually want to. But, on the other hand, I can’t." Victoria knelt before her husband and hugged him tightly. "Because I know you’re not the type of man who would betray me."
"Tory..."
"I saw it with my own eyes while we were on vacation yesterday. You got contacted by Amber out of the blue, yet you still chose me. You even yelled at her and treated her like an intruder in your life."
"Actually, I just felt uncomfortable with her bothering me while we were on our honeymoon. That’s what made me start to hate her."
"I loved how assertive you were back then." Her brow furrowed instantly as she realized what her husband had said. "By the way, what we’re doing isn’t really a honeymoon! It’s a vacation!"
In the end, they laughed happily and hugged each other tightly. Now Matthias didn’t have to worry about his wife holding a grudge against him for the incident at the airport. Likewise, Victoria felt comfortable in her husband’s embrace. Her decision not to scold him out of jealousy was the right one. Honestly, since their fun activities in Guam, Victoria had grown less resentful of her husband.
Matthias pursed his lips. "Speaking of which, should I scold you now? Why did you have Ansel pick you up?"
"Because I don’t want to bother Jennifer. She must be busy with Sawyer."
"But you want to trouble your ex-fiancé. I really don’t understand this," Matthias said in a high-pitched voice.
"Are you jealous?"
"Yes, now I’m jealous. I even want to punish you right now!"
Victoria rolled her eyes. "Can you stop doing that?"
"Do you really expect me to do that to you?" Matthias asked with an innocent face.
"No!" Victoria immediately released the hug while helping her husband stand.
Matthias smiled mischievously as he carried his light wife up the stairs to their bedroom. He immediately locked the door tightly and laid his wife and himself on the bed.
Matthias was right; this time, he didn’t punish his wife by assaulting her all night. Instead, they simply cuddled in bed.
"So, are you disappointed with what I did now?" Matthias asked, rubbing his nose against his wife’s.
"Thank goodness you really did keep your promise." Victoria gently touched her husband’s cheek. "Keep up the same attitude."
"I also want our relationship to continue like this."
"Really? You don’t want our relationship to progress?"
Matthias widened his eyes. "This time, are you serious about taking our relationship to the next level?"
Victoria averted her eyes and shifted her body away from her husband. "If you never lied to me, betrayed me, or deceived me, then I’ll consider it."
Matthias immediately kissed his wife’s cheek repeatedly with joy. "Thank you, honey."
Ding...dong...
In the midst of their sweet moment, someone suddenly rang the doorbell, causing them to pause. This time, Matthias openly held his wife’s hand and walked down the stairs to the main door to greet the mysterious visitor who had unexpectedly visited them.
At first, Matthias thought it was Amber visiting him again, but he didn’t expect it to be Sawyer and Jennifer. Matthias immediately opened the door wide and invited his special guests into his luxurious home.
Now the two lovers were sitting side by side on the sofa. Matthias wondered why the couple had suddenly approached him even though he hadn’t invited them. Has something gone wrong with the couple?
"Matthias, I suggest you don’t fight with Victoria," Sawyer said frantically.
Jennifer nodded. "Sawyer’s right. Especially since you just got back from vacation in Guam, it would be a shame to ruin your relationship again."
Victoria furrowed her eyebrows. "Wait a minute! Why did you assume I was going to fight with Matthias?"
Sawyer rolled his eyes. "So, you guys really weren’t fighting?"
Matthias immediately kicked his friend’s leg with some force. "Should I scold you for ruining our time together?"
Jennifer stroked her chest calmly. "Thank goodness. At first, we thought you were going to fight again because of Amber."
"So, the reason you suddenly came to us was just because you were worried about us?"
Sawyer nodded. "Since you guys really aren’t fighting, we’ll be going home now."
"Wait a minute, Sawyer! Looks like you’re the one who needs to be taught a lesson now!"
"You want to give me an extra task?" Sawyer swallowed nervously.
"From now on, if you bother me at inappropriate times, I will not hesitate to give you additional tasks!"
Sawyer snapped his fingers. "Speaking of assignments, I almost forgot to report to you! Aren’t you supposed to visit the project site in Yanmang City in three days?"
