True Alpha's Chosen Mate-Chapter 267: Finding love in the battlefield
"Elizabeth!"
Silas roared as he watched his sister Elizabeth get drunk with feral instinct. No good, he thought. She couldn’t hear them anymore, although they knew Elizabeth was still there, trapped in her own body.
"Silas!" yelled Cora, who was still in her human form. She was on her way to where Elizabeth and Cedrick were fighting, but on her way, she heard Garrett’s howl, calling for her. She would’ve ignored it if it was someone else, but her husband’s howl was full of worry. So she took a reroute and met Silas’s group.
Meanwhile, Reks whistled as he placed his hand across his chest, feeling his heartbeat race. This was the first time he had seen Elizabeth in her wolf form, and boy... she was beautiful — except that she was drooling and wanted to tear their limbs with her sharp teeth.
GRRR...
Elizabeth glossed her bloodshot eyes at the three, snarling as she stealthily took a step forth. In her eyes, these three were her foods. Something she should gnaw to sate the pain in her gums that was making her teeth wobble.
She needed to chew something, and they just looked good for that.
"Crap..." Silas breathed out as he studied Elizabeth’s aura. "Reminds me of when Hugo went berserk."
His remarks somehow left a bitter taste in his mouth. Back then, Silas, together with Alice, Tomas, and Daniel, had to subdue Hugo out of his feral state. But now... Alice and Tomas were gone.
"We have to kill her or she will kill us." After several seconds, Silas and Cora furrowed their brows as Reks spoke. "It breaks my heart that I want to confess my newfound love for Her Highness, but alas, she will come at us for a kill."
"Shut up!" Cora’s voice shook as her eyes flickered with malice, gazing at the wolf stealthily took steps to the side while they also took step backs. "I will not kill another sister of mine. Never."
Silas ground his teeth as he glanced at Cora and then at Reks. The latter was one of Hugo’s most trusted warriors, and even though he was a love-sick weirdo, Reks’ judgment was always rational.
"She’s still there," he shouted, directly at Reks, eyes at Elizabeth. "We’ll kill her if there’s no other way, but as long as our sister is still there and there’s a chance she can regain her consciousness, we’ll have to do everything, even if we have to risk our lives."
"Just assist us in a way that will not endanger your life," he continued solemnly, a rare tone he would use to Reks as the words they would usually spew were creative profanities to each other.
Reks glanced in Silas’ direction and chuckled. "Fine. I’ll assist you in a way I will not endanger my life." His eyes veered towards Elizabeth as her animal groans grew louder.
"As if I’d say that," he added with a snicker. "My Alpha gave me orders. I’m not doing this for you, I’m doing this for me. I will ask Alpha Hugo to set me up on a romantic date with Her Highness."
Silas could not help but scrunch his nose up, shooting Reks a look of disdain. It would have been better if Reks ended it with ’as if I’d say that.’ Cora also couldn’t help but glance at Reks with contempt in her eyes.
"As if I’d let any of the mad wolves be my in-law." She clicked her tongue before shifting her attention back to Elizabeth. "Once she emerges from here alive, I’m certain she will castrate you for the sake of all the ladies in Ronmin."
"That’s not horrible. At the very least, I get to feel her touch for once."
"Disgusting fuck." Silas spat out. "You’re lucky we’re in this situation. Lest I would’ve killed you first."
The corners of Reks’ lips stretched, feeling the disgusted look from his alpha’s siblings. Well, he gained some hate from the two, but this was enough to distract them from their worries.
"Enough with the chitchat, Your Highnesses," he crooned, narrowing his eyes as his canine grew longer. "My future wife is still angry. We still need to appease her."
Silas and Cora could only click their tongue as they set their focus back at Elizabeth, ignoring Reks. But deep in their heart, they promised they would beat him to death once everything was over.
Grr...
"What a beast," Reks whispered as he bent his knees, eyes glinting menacingly at the female wolf, trying to gain momentum before attacking. "If this isn’t true love, I don’t know what is."
HOWL!
Elizabeth howled loudly until it echoed in the air before she stomped her paws against the ground. At the same time, the three bolted forth, facing her head-on.
*******
Boogsh!
Cedrick was out of breath, meeting the ground for the nth time. He gazed up, wiping the blood off of the side of his lips with the back of his fist.
There, meters away from him, stood a man with a wolf’s head and glowing red eyes.
Elizabeth exhausted him and nearly killed him, but even in his best shape, he already knew the difference between him and Daniel. The thrill of overcoming such a hurdle was still there, but he was getting exhausted.
How would he break that wolf who was akin to an impregnable wall?
’I can’t even get close to him,’ he thought, pushing himself up and standing straight in his stature. His wing was broken, specks of blood covering his body. He stretched his neck from one side to the other, cracking his knuckles.
"Your High --" Just before Cedrick could stall time to figure out how to take down Daniel, the latter already bolted towards him like a bolt of lightning, and before Cedrick knew it, a pair of glowing crimson eyes hovered over him.
"This... is for Sally!" came out a growl before his fist met Cedrick’s face, causing the latter to fly back. But one punch was not enough as Daniel picked up his pace and appeared behind Azazel.
"For Elizabeth!" this time, Daniel grabbed Cedrick’s wing and kicked him, ripping it like a piece of paper. He tossed it without care as he leaped until he was above the vampire.
"And this... was for Tomas!"
No mercy. Daniel didn’t stop shredding him to satiate the fury in his heart. He would kill him.
