Cindy muttered to herself while clutching her hands together.

"Oh god, I overdid it... Why did I get so excited? Lucas must think I’m weird!"

Embarrassment crept across her face, but she tried her best to maintain her cheerful smile in front of Lucas.

Meanwhile, Lucas stared at Cindy with confusion.

"Does she... like me? But... why isn’t my passive skill Heartbound Desires activating?"

Lucas tried to read Cindy’s body language, but he couldn’t find any clear clues.

The atmosphere between them started to feel awkward. Both of them secretly glanced away, avoiding direct eye contact. After five minutes that felt like an eternity, Cindy finally stood up and grabbed her mask.

"Uhm... I think I should head home now, Lucas. Thanks for chatting with me!" she said with an awkward smile.

"Oh, yeah... sure." Lucas replied, scratching the back of his neck.

Without further small talk, Cindy hurriedly left Lucas’ apartment. Once the door closed behind her, she leaned against the hallway wall, covering her face with both hands.

"Oh god... what did I just do? Why does it feel like my heart’s about to explode?"

Cindy took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down. Her face was flushed, her eyes sparkling with a mixture of embarrassment and inexplicable excitement.

As she walked back to her apartment, her steps felt light, but her body felt weak, as if all her energy had been drained. Cindy smiled slightly behind her mask.
