Ultimate Spin System: Ero Spin?-Chapter 34 - Dominion Grimoire
Lucas stared at the black book with blood-red accents lying in his hands. The dark aura emanating from the book made the air around him feel heavy. The system then displayed additional explanations on a holographic panel in front of him:
---
[Dominion Grimoire (Special Item)]
A forbidden tome that allows its owner to write someone’s name and gain complete control over their body and actions. The effect activates if the owner maintains eye contact with the target for 10 consecutive seconds after writing their name.
There is no duration limit to the effect.
The target will fully comply with all commands, even those against their will or morals.
The target’s consciousness remains intact. They will be fully aware of what is happening to their body but unable to resist or stop the actions commanded by the owner.
The effect only applies if the target’s name is accurate and matches a clear mental image in the owner’s mind. An incorrect or ambiguous name will not trigger the effect.
Cooldown: 24 hours.
---
Lucas carefully read every word. This time, the explanation was far more detailed and... much more terrifying.
"So... they stay conscious? They’re fully aware, but their body will obey me... No matter how hard they try to resist inside their own mind?"
He felt chills run down his spine at the thought. Eyes of a fully conscious person being controlled, unable to resist—it sounded like a nightmare.
The system followed up with a brief line:
[This effect cannot be undone except by the owner of the Dominion Grimoire. Use wisely, Host.]
Lucas placed the book gently on the table. His fingers tapped lightly against its rough cover.
"This isn’t just a control tool... This literally makes me someone’s ruler. They’d be like a puppet trapped in their own body, watching everything happen from behind the screen of their mind..."
Lucas bit his lip. There was something both horrifying and intoxicating about this power. With the Dominion Grimoire, he could force anyone to do anything.
But on the other hand... their lingering consciousness made him feel uneasy. The image of someone’s face, their eyes filled with resignation while their body moved under his control, haunted him.
"Damn, I could be the real puppet master in real life."
Lucas took a deep breath and looked at the system with a serious expression.
"If they stay conscious, that means I still need to be careful. Every tiny command I give, they’ll remember every detail... and I’ll have to live with the knowledge that I forced them to do that."
He leaned back on the sofa and closed his eyes.
"If I’m going to use the Dominion Grimoire, I need a solid reason... or... heheh, an irresistible temptation."
Lucas glanced at the book once more before finally sliding it into a small drawer beside the sofa. With a click, the drawer locked tightly.
"Alright... now I need to make sure I don’t use this recklessly. But... in a world like this, I’m not sure how long I can hold myself back."
With his mind full of contemplation, Lucas lay down on the sofa and stared at the ceiling.
"The Dominion Grimoire, a power that could make me a ruler... or turn me into a tyrant."
Lucas stared warily at the drawer where he had stored the Dominion Grimoire. The book was far too dangerous to be hidden in an ordinary drawer. If someone—anyone—found that book, chaos could easily follow.
"I need a safer place to keep this. If someone gets their hands on it... I can’t even imagine the consequences."
Suddenly, the system notification chimed in his head:
[Ding! The system offers an option to unlock the first Inventory Slot for 100 points. With this, the Host can store items in a virtual storage space accessible only by the Host.]
Lucas froze for a moment before clicking his tongue in amazement. "System... are you serious? I thought these points were just for buying snacks from your virtual vending machine!"
A holographic panel appeared in front of him, displaying his current point balance:
[Points: 250]
Below it, a large button read:
[Unlock First Inventory Slot – 100 Points]
Without hesitation, Lucas pressed the button.
[Ding! First Inventory Slot successfully unlocked!]
A new screen popped up on his system display: Inventory (1/1 Slots). Inside the transparent box, one empty slot glowed faintly.
Lucas smirked slightly as he glanced at the drawer beside him. "Finally, a practical solution. I don’t need to worry about someone rummaging through this drawer and finding... well, something dangerous."
The system added another note:
[Note: Inventory slots can be upgraded at an increasing cost. The second slot requires 200 points, the third slot 400 points, and so on. The Host is advised to use points wisely.]
Lucas furrowed his brows and let out a small laugh. "So that’s what the points are for? At first, I thought they were just decorative numbers in the corner of the screen! Turns out this is just like a real RPG—incremental inventory upgrades. Classic."
Carefully, he opened the drawer, picked up the Dominion Grimoire, and stared at it briefly before placing it into the newly unlocked inventory slot. The book disappeared in a small flash of light, and a tiny black book icon with a chain symbol appeared inside the virtual slot.
Lucas exhaled deeply. "Phew... finally. Now I can sleep a little easier without worrying about this book falling into the wrong hands."
He slumped back onto the sofa and rested his head against the backrest.
"At this rate, I’ll need to start seriously figuring out how to earn more points. One slot isn’t going to be enough if I suddenly get my hands on another dangerous item."
The system flashed another notification:
[The Host is reminded that points can be earned through task completion, success in specific interactions, or transactions approved by the system.]
Lucas nodded slowly. "Alright, so from now on, I’ll need to explore the system’s features more thoroughly. I don’t want ridiculous situations like this catching me off guard again."
He closed the system panel and let out a long sigh. Although still a little anxious, at least one problem had been solved. The book was now safely stored somewhere only he could access.
"Now I just have to wait... and see what kind of absurd mess the system throws at me next," he said jokingly, though a faint hint of worry lingered in his voice.
