Unrivaled in another world-Chapter 194: A Worthy Challenge
[: 3rd POV :]
As soon as Melira had ended her fight with the Apostles, the Royal Families emerged from their Domains, stepping onto the fractured, trembling surface of Daniel’s manifested lamd.
The remnants of their battles hung in the air, shattered rocks, lingering flames, twisted roots, and floating shards of arcane energy.
Daniel observed silently, as always.
After all, he had created the domain.
Every struggle, every strike, every collapse of divine beings was visible to him.
"Ah! That was a good fight after a long time!" muttered the Demon King Xerath, stretching his arms lazily as if he had just finished a light afternoon jog.
"I almost forgot how satisfying it is to smash things... at planetary scale."
"You should control your strength dear" Lilith said.
"But I have to agree with father. That was quite fun" Kiel declared.
Kaelgor of the Ironclaw Family glanced at him, claws tapping the ground.
"Fun, yes... but messy. Look at this place—rivers misaligned, mountains fractured. I might need a nap before touching restoration."
Torren, arms crossed and fists smoldering, shook his head.
"Nap? We can rebuild rivers in a day. Give me a pickaxe and some Earthshatter Colossus energy and we’re done."
Vaelen smirked, shaking his hawk-feathered shoulder.
"Or I could just speed-build everything before you even grab the pickaxe. Fastest restoration in recorded history."
Draven, ever loud, bellowed:
"Or we could just blow it all up and pretend it never happened!"
Selena groaned. "Must you always suggest the nuclear option first, Draven?"
"Mother, don’t bother with them. They’re always like this" Rika sighed in defeat.
From the Elven side, Caelira and Aeriwen approached.
Caelira’s emerald-gold radiance glimmered against the devastation.
"Well, at least our part didn’t involve entire continents being vaporized," she said, surveying her recreated forests and islands.
"Small steps for mortals, giant leaps for everyone else."
Aeriwen twirled her Selenic Spear lazily.
"Honestly, Mother, the last few Apostles were almost cute"
"A little trembling, a little arrogance... like kittens trying to roar. I miss the cute ones sometimes."
Melira, calm and composed even after her obliteration of the Apostles, crossed her arms.
"Cute?" she murmured.
"I wonder what’s your definition of cute... but even cute ones would never touch my son again."
Xerath tilted his head.
"Ah, there she goes again"
Torren snorted.
"Again? The son probably gets a lecture on not breaking the sidewalk in the courtyard, and boom, planetary-level cleanups!"
Vaelen chuckled. "Imagine if we got homework after this. ’Restore shattered reality by Monday.’ I’d fail spectacularly."
Kaelgor growled.
"Enough jokes. The cracks in the land won’t repair themselves."
Selena’s eyes narrowed. "And speaking of cracks... anyone notice the sky?"
The clouds overhead twisted unnaturally, gathering like molten silk.
The air pulsed.
Then, from the heavens, numerous massive, gigantic gates appeared, suspended above them.
Each radiated an energy that made the ground tremble, the sky split, and even Daniel’s domain shiver.
"Uh... did anyone else get the memo that invaders apparently loves front doors?" Vaelen muttered.
"Why do they keep frequently likes to visit us?"
"Minor inconvenience," Draven said cheerfully.
Kaelgor bared his fangs.
"Those gates are bigger than some of the planets we’ve casually destroyed today. Minor is not the word I’d use."
Xerath waved a hand lazily, clearly annoyed.
"Oh, great. More gates. The Invaders really likes making entrances dramatic, huh?"
Caelira folded her arms.
"We can joke, but these gates aren’t going to wait for us to have a tea party. We need a plan fast."
Aeriwen leaned on her spear.
"How about you all of you leave this one to me?" Daniel suggested.
"I’ve been itching for a fight. So why don’t all of you rest?" He added.
"Well, if you say so Daniel, then go ahead" Xerath.
"I mean, I wouldn’t worry if it were you" Kaelgor said.
"I would love to see them suffer" Sylthara declared.
"Good luck with that!" Sylvene cheered.
"Go ahead son" Melira said with a smile.
"Alright, then don’t mind me"
As soon as Daniel said that, he leapt into the sky with his presence folding reality around him as he ascended.
The fractured land beneath him, the remnants of battles fought by the Emperors, Empresses and Apostles lay in ruin, but his attention was drawn elsewhere.
Above, the clouds churned violently, torn between storm and shadow, a canvas upon which dozens of enormous gates now hung suspended like impossible cities in the sky.
Each gate radiated a power so colossal that the air itself quivered, the ground below trembling under the strain of their existence.
Daniel’s eyes narrowed.
He could feel it, the threat this time was unlike anything he had encountered before.
It was even more dangerous than Forbidden Continent or when he had hunt for the Zero Organization.
It had even dwarfed the threats of hundreds of Apostles that had flooded the world.
The very essence of danger radiated from each of those gates, pressing down on the world as if the universe itself was warning him to pay attention.
He spread his distance further and hovered, analyzing the gates, calculating the scale of the incoming threat.
Even the debris of fallen mountains, rivers rerouted in chaos, and floating islands that had just been restored seemed insignificant compared to the energy pouring from those portals. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
"System," Daniel muttered, his tone calm but edged with curiosity and alertness.
"What exactly is going on here?"
[: Beings that are far beyond the Apostles are making their entrance into this world :]
[: After their Lords, Gods, Sovereigns, or whatever they are called sacrificed their divine essences to the Universe Law, these entities were summoned. :]
Daniel froze mid-air.
"Wait... they can actually do that?"
[: Normally, a god would never unhesitatingly use such a method to attack a low-ranked planet like this. :]
Daniel’s eyes narrowed further, glinting with intrigue and a hint of amusement.
"Then why here? Why this world?"
[: This planet has been deemed both dangerous and abnormal :]
[: Moreover, with such treasure that this Planet possessed, the Divine Beings have determined it is an anomaly that warrants the sacrifice of divine essences :]
[: In turn, they summoned beings far greater than Apostles, capable of destroying entire galsxies without hesitation. :]
Daniel tilted his head slightly, voice calm but carrying that subtle undertone that always made everything he said feel like a promise of inevitability.
"And these beings... what are they?"
[: They are known as the Conquerors. :]
"Conquerors?" Daniel repeated, his lips curling into a faint, knowing smile.
"Sounds impressive."
[: To simplify... Apostles are like messengers, meant to send warnings and possessing over powers that they are limited to :]
[: And when they act, their capacity is limited :]
[: However, Conquerors... they are the executors :]
[: They carry out the will of the Lords, Gods, Sovereigns themselves :]
[: They leave nothing standing, and nothing alive, unless their mission demands it. :]
Daniel’s pupils constricted slightly.
"So if they’re on a mission... it’s not just reconnaissance. They’re here to annihilate this entire planet. Right?"
[: Correct. :]
He exhaled slowly, the wind of his aura bending around him, scattering the clouds and rippling the space between gates.
His lips curved into a smile, not of fear, but of anticipation.
"Well..." he muttered under his breath, the tone playful, almost like a student staring at an unsolvable equation.
"This isn’t a threat. Not really."
Daniel’s voice hardened, carrying a weight that made the air itself tremble.
"This... is a challenge and I have been waiting for one like this for far too long."
"Wouldn’t it be disrespectful if I don’t accept this with a warm welcome?’,
His mind raced as he gazed at the gates, each one an entry point for entities far stronger than Apostles.
The energy radiating from them was alien, layered, and harmonized in ways he hadn’t seen even in the deepest threads of his skills...at least not yet.
It was overwhelming, yes, but in the way a master anticipates a storm before it hits, savoring the moment before he throws himself into the chaos.
"System," he murmured, almost conversationally, "let me understand this clearly"
"These Conquerors... they are completely loyal to whoever summoned them? No hesitation, no errors? A direct execution of their Lords’ will?"
[: Exactly. They are instruments of absolute judgment. Their existence is singularly focused. They will not deviate. They will not hesitate. :]
Daniel tilted his head again, observing the shimmering runes and energy signatures around the gates.
"So... no mercy. No halfway attempts. They’re the final hammer. And they’re coming to break this world entirely."
[: Precisely. :]
A faint chuckle escaped him, a sound that rippled across the domain and made even the residual energy of Daniel’s own creation shiver.
"Interesting. That makes it all the more worthwhile"
"After all, it’s been... boring lately. Hundreds of Apostles, countless minor entities, and yet nothing... meaningful"
"But now? Now, this might actually be fun."
The gates above pulsed in resonance with his words, almost as if the universe itself responded to his perception of the threat.
Massive figures could already be seen moving beyond the shimmering thresholds, though their forms were veiled, energy shimmering over them in patterns of both divine and mortal geometries.
