Urban Super Soldier King-Chapter 514: Are They Really Brothers?
Chapter 514: Chapter 514: Are They Really Brothers?
"He Jiang, stop pretending. Everyone knows what’s up. Watch out or those three bosses might come and beat you up," Wang Li coldly snorted as he watched He Jiang.
Xiang Yu and the others were untouchable, but He Jiang was an easy target, and they couldn’t resist bullying him a bit.
"Who’s pretending? Those three are actually my underlings, brothers," He Jiang boasted, then sneakily glanced at Xiang Yu. Seeing that Xiang Yu paid them no attention, he felt relieved.
The people around had heard He Jiang’s words and started mocking him. It was clearly nonsense. How could it be that a boss stands while his underlings sit?
Besides, if Xiang Yu really was his brother, why didn’t he step up and stop it?
"I really want to see if your ’brother’ will step in or not when I beat you today," Wang Li said. He rolled up his sleeves, then approached He Jiang.
In his eyes, He Jiang was just trying to borrow tiger’s fierceness by showing off. He simply couldn’t stand it and wanted to expose him.
Seeing Wang Li walking towards him, He Jiang actually felt a bit hairy inside. Although he claimed Xiang Yu as his brother, he wasn’t sure if Xiang Yu would intervene if he got beaten. If Xiang Yu didn’t step in, the shame would be immense.
He Jiang sneakily glanced at Xiang Yu again, only to see Xiang Yu still sitting there with a casual smile, showing no intention to intervene.
At this point, He Jiang couldn’t help but regret his earlier bravado, which had put him in a tight spot. But since things had come this far, he had no choice but to tough it out.
Though everyone thought He Jiang was a pushover, he was still a minor boss who had come up from the bottom; there were no real cowards among them.
He Jiang also twisted his neck, then walked forward. The crowd consciously cleared the way for the two, eagerly anticipating the drama, all the while murmuring to themselves.
Some said He Jiang was no match, others said He Jiang would go down within two strikes—nobody had faith in him.
He Jiang twisted his neck, saw his opponent approaching, then suddenly charged forward, kicking Wang Li in the chest and sending him flying.
The surprise attack worked. Seizing the chance, He Jiang rushed in again and landed another punch on Wang Li before he could regain his balance.
"I fuck your grandpa, you dare to attack..."
Wang Li was about to throw some harsh words, but He Jiang, having started fighting, didn’t care about anything else and threw another punch.
Poor Wang Li, despite his skills, didn’t get a chance to react and received punch after punch from He Jiang in the face. Those who had misjudged earlier cursed He Jiang for his shameless sneak attack.
They knew Wang Li was far superior to He Jiang in skills, and now he was getting beaten.
A fierce punch by He Jiang landed on Wang Li’s face, knocking him down, his face swelling beyond recognition.
"What are you waiting for? Teach him a lesson. He doesn’t play fair, so we won’t go easy on him either," Wang Li shouted as he lay there.
At that moment, two more men, hearing the call, charged at He Jiang.
He Jiang didn’t bring any other brothers and didn’t have close friends either. Managing to deal with Wang Li was just a fluke—now with two more, he stood no chance.
Everyone was cheerfully waiting to see He Jiang get beaten when suddenly an ashtray flew towards one of the men, hitting him squarely on the head.
With a ’bang,’ the man was knocked out instantly, and the ashtray hit the ground with a piercing noise.
"What are you trying to do, bullying my big brother?" Xiang Yu suddenly said with a smile, having just thrown the ashtray.
Xiang Yu stood up, then walked over to He Jiang and asked, "Big brother, are you alright, how should we deal with him?"
He Jiang was deeply moved and extremely pleased. He truly hadn’t expected Xiang Yu to stand up for him at that moment, and the onlookers were all staring agape, obviously shocked.
This was indeed true; He Jiang was actually their big brother, which was simply outrageous.
At that moment, He Jiang lifted his head and walked over to the man. With a ’smack,’ he slapped him, then grabbing the man by the collar, he said, "Be more careful next time, don’t go around pretending to be something you’re not when you’re out and about."
The man who was slapped quickly nodded, showing a very fearful demeanor.
After hitting the man, He Jiang ignored everyone else and walked to the sofa to sit down. The room fell silent, everyone relieved they hadn’t provoked He Jiang.
"Thank you!" He Jiang said quietly to Xiang Yu while sitting there.
"It’s what brothers should do," Xiang Yu replied with a secretive smile.
Xiang Yu was about to leave for a while, and there were many things that still needed He Jiang’s help to cover up. His assistance today was also a way to buy people’s loyalty.
"Damn, what time is it now, why haven’t they arrived?" Tie Zhuzi looked at his watch and said. The meeting was supposed to start precisely at eight, and now it was nearly nine, yet they still weren’t letting them in.
"Eight o’clock was for the bosses; they discuss things first, then it’s our turn," He Jiang replied cautiously, looking around, afraid of saying the wrong thing and being overheard.
"What?" Tie Zhuzi, angered, slammed his hand on the table, drawing the attention of everyone around who thought there might be more drama to watch.
Xiang Yu quickly stopped Tie Zhuzi from shouting. Since they had nothing to do at the moment, they might as well sit down and eat some fruit while waiting.
They certainly fared better than those foolishly standing around. Meanwhile, He Jiang sat there somewhat uneasily—most of the standing figures around him were more formidable, and he felt somewhat insecure sitting there.
Around half-past nine, the sounds of Tie Zhuzi’s snoring filled the air, loud enough to draw the looks of those around them.
He Jiang felt particularly embarrassed and then looked to Xiang Yu, hoping he would wake Tie Zhuzi since this was the headquarters, and the Sect Hierarch was upstairs. A slight negligence could lead to dire consequences.
But when he turned to look at Xiang Yu, he was speechless; Xiang Yu had also fallen asleep there. What a time to sleep—it was truly heartless.
He Jiang, feeling awkward, glanced at Xiao Xuan, hoping Xiao Xuan would wake them up. Xiao Xuan just sat there coldly and glanced at him.
He Jiang didn’t speak but closed his mouth and sat still, feeling stuck inside the sofa, unable to leave. He had to sit straight and wait for Xiang Yu to wake up.
Around ten o’clock, a young man dressed in a black suit walked over, looking very sharp and wearing earbuds, clearly someone from the boss’s immediate circle.
"All bosses, the Sect Hierarch invites you now," the man stated boldly. Though his words were polite, his tone carried an arrogance that seemed to disregard those present altogether.
Many of the bosses were visiting for the first time and were somewhat nervous; naturally, they wouldn’t mind the man’s tone and carefully started walking in the direction the man in black had indicated.
Meanwhile, Xiang Yu and his companion ... were still sound asleep.
