Chapter 311: Chapter 314 Too Dirty

Friday, inside the ABC studio.

The female makeup artist was carefully arranging some blonde hair while quietly asking, "Mr. Donald, are you satisfied with this look?"

"Uh-huh," the real estate tycoon glanced at the mirror and casually replied.

After the makeup artist left, he closed his eyes and began recalling the speech he had prepared in his mind.

To be honest, Donald also knew that the role he was playing today would not be liked by most of the public.

He had decided to appear, partly because he truly craved Twitter, a platform where he could express his own views.

And the other reason was to curry favor with the extreme conservative political groups.

"I don’t need to raise campaign funds; as long as I can be welcomed by the members of the Republican Party, that’s good enough."

As someone not born into a political family and unwilling to climb the ladder of power step by step in the usual manner, he had no choice but to take an unconventional route to draw attention.

Donald looked down at his figure and sighed, "I really envy Schwarzenegger, being able to be welcomed by the women of the Kennedy family."

This inadvertently reminded him of the novels he had read online during his boring moments.

"Enemies could easily be killed, and all the women belonged to the protagonist. Honestly, I quite liked that."

"But politics is a very dirty thing."

"Mr. Wang, I can only say I’m very sorry!"

Meanwhile, in the neighboring makeup room.

Wang Jian was discussing his makeup with the makeup artist, "Don’t use white foundation, it’s better to use gray or dark yellow."

"Uh..." the makeup artist looked at Wang Jian, troubled, "But this way, you’ll look very lackluster and weak in front of the camera."

Nonsense, I know that!

If it hadn’t been for the fact that he had spent the night in an air-conditioned room without catching a cold, on top of not wanting to overdo it, Wang Jian would have wanted to prepare a bloodied handkerchief.

"It’s only this way that it fits the image of an artist oppressed by politics, to elicit public sympathy," Wang Jian thought to himself, waving his hand at the makeup artist, "Just do as I say!"

The makeup artist bit her lip and started fiddling with her makeup case.

About ten minutes later, she covered her eyes and walked out of the makeup room.

"Mr. Wang, you can make your entrance now," a crew member reminded him.

Wang Jian nodded his head, stood up, and was about to walk out.

But suddenly, it seemed like he remembered something.

Then, with a slight bend in his waist, he moved languidly to the studio.

Accompanied by sympathetic glances and rousing applause, Wang Jian seated himself in the reserved chair.

Soon, his debate opponent also arrived on the set, introduced by the host.

Donald heard the boos from the audience and scoffed disdainfully.

"The more you oppose, the easier it is to convert to support within the extreme conservative faction!"

"These people brainwashed by political correctness are just engaging in useless howling!"

But when he turned his gaze toward Wang Jian, he almost jumped in surprise.

"Fuck, what’s going on here?"

"Has this best-selling Asian author contracted some terminal illness?"

"Cough cough," noticing that both guests were seated, the host immediately posed today’s question.

"Gentlemen, do you believe that the ’Restriction of Online Literature Act’ passed by the House of Representatives should be supported?"

Wang Jian was too lazy to respond to this question.

He was only sighing internally, "I’m wearing too much today; the studio is really too hot."

Meanwhile, he pretended to shiver with cold due to poor health.

Donald grabbed the microphone eagerly to voice his opinion.

"I think it’s extremely appropriate because so-called online literature doesn’t have a single ounce of nutritional value!"

He was thinking of his target audience as he continued, "Many people spend a lot of time reading these so-called online literary works, but what do they ultimately get?"

"Everyone would be better off going to church more often, reading the ’Bible’ more, that way they could better bask in the Lord’s glory."

"Or study history more, to understand the difficulties faced by the United States and the greatness of its heroes."

The host couldn’t stand it any longer and turned to ask, "Mr. Wang, do you have anything to say?"

Wang Jian cleared his throat and slowly set down his iced coffee that he was using to warm his hands, "According to the First Amendment of the American Constitution, citizens have the right to freely express their opinions."

The host waited with an eager expression for him to continue, but unexpectedly, Wang Jian had already closed his eyes, looking as if he couldn’t bear the pressure.

"Uh... Indeed, artists are sensitive and fragile!"

The host, keeping in mind the day’s purpose, said, "So, Mr. Donald, do you think even the popular ABC series ’Anomalies’ is a meaningless work?"

"Of course!" the real estate tycoon affirmed as a matter of course, "A world filled with gold, life turned into information, could such things possibly exist?"

"But what about the Elf Clan who cherishes resources, the Demon’s yearning for the universe? Aren’t these very educational?" the host asked.

"Heh," Donald sneered, "And after that, isn’t it just because of the protagonist, not their own efforts, that they escape the Fate of civilization’s annihilation?"

"Are we to hope now that someone will give the United States a planet full of oil?"

Hearing this, including Wang Jian, everyone was stunned for a moment.

"This tycoon... has watched ’Anomalies and Creatures’?" fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓

Donald seemed to realize this and afterwards merely spoke superficially, avoiding further detailed discussion about the content’s improbability.

"As long as I don’t admit defeat, no one can beat me!" he thought to himself.

This dogged relentless spirit made even the host want to argue.

So, next, Wang Jian became a spectator.

The host and Donald started to argue.

"Who am I, where am I, what am I supposed to do?" Wang Jian, watching the two thrust and parry with words, felt a bit weird.

But about two or three minutes later, the host touched his earpiece and displayed a look of surprise.

"Our program team’s surprise guest has arrived at the scene."

"Please welcome him with applause!"

"Cut, it’s just a writer," Donald thought, "Even if Stephen King showed up, what of it?"

"What I want is support from within the Republican Party, not praise from writers!"

However, as the guest entered, his expression froze like ice.

"Hello everyone, I’m the Governor of Texas, George Bush."

"Of course, right now my identity is as Mr. Wang Jian’s fan."

He walked over to Wang Jian and said respectfully, "Mr. Wang, could you sign my book for me?"

This...

Donald watched as this politically promising rising star humbly offered several novels to the best-selling author.

Then he turned his head towards himself, "I disagree with Mr. Donald’s views. Online literature is an important supplement to literature!"

"The Senate should correct this shameful American error in a timely manner!"

"I speak for myself alone and hope the Republican Senators will vote against it in the next decision."

Fuck!

The real estate tycoon thought about the ins and outs of the situation and seemed to have a bit of an epiphany.

"Politics, indeed, is too dirty!"
