Wrong Love, Final Goodbye: She'll Never Look Back-Chapter 313: Tanya, Don’t Get the Wrong Idea
Then, Mrs. Bobby enthusiastically pulled Tanya Sinclair into their parents’ group chat.
Because Caden was the genius in the genius class, Tanya received a warm welcome as soon as she joined.
She felt a bit overwhelmed.
Fortunately, at this moment, the homeroom teacher, Ms. Keene, walked in to manage the event. Today’s parent-child activity was mainly held on the outdoor playground. But before that, each class had a warm-up game.
To help parents get to know each other and quickly integrate into the group.
Regular classes played games like word chains or singing, but the genius class had an intellectual competition where the homeroom teacher posed questions and students teamed up with their parents to answer them.
For each correct answer, they scored a point; for each wrong answer, they lost a point. The team with the most points at the end would receive a small gift.
After hearing the rules, Bobby said cheerfully, "Mom, we are definitely going to win!"
Mrs. Bobby was also cheerful, "That’s great. I’ve never come in first when I was in school! Bobby’s dad is smart, but he’s in some secret office, so he can’t appear here. I was worried that I might hold my son back in this intelligence section! But now, we have two geniuses on our team! We’ll win easily!"
The Bobby mother and son looked at Tanya and Caden, their eyes full of hopeful little stars.
Tanya smiled and said, "We’ll do our best."
The homeroom teacher’s question bank covered a broad range of topics, and the difficulty gradually increased. At first, everyone was almost taking turns answering, but the further it went, the fewer people were answering. Bobby and Mrs. Bobby began to cheer for Tanya and Caden.
In the end, Tanya and Caden led the way with a small margin, bringing Bobby and Mrs. Bobby to an easy victory.
They received two small gold medals.
Mrs. Bobby happily took a photo, "Oh, I’m a mother who won a gold medal in the genius class! Thank you, Caden’s Mother, you’re amazing!"
"You’re too kind." Tanya’s mind was preoccupied with Abby, "Mrs. Bobby, could you please watch over Caden for me? I need to go..."
"I know!" Mrs. Bobby said, "You want to check on your daughter, Joy, right? The two kids are twins, and although Joy doesn’t study as well as Caden, she’s a pretty and lively little girl. I’ve seen her several times! But..."
Some things weren’t appropriate to say in front of the kids, so Mrs. Bobby quietly pulled Tanya to the door to continue.
"Caden’s Mother, Joy is particularly reliant on that Cindy Lynn, calling her ’mom’ directly!" Mrs. Bobby sneered disdainfully, "Must be taught by adults! Kids are simple-minded; if they keep calling her that, they might actually start thinking of another woman as their mom! You really need to keep an eye on your husband and be careful!"
Apparently, Mrs. Bobby didn’t know about Tanya and Vincent’s divorce.
Tanya knew she meant well, so she smiled and said, "I’ve already divorced Caden’s father. Caden’s custody is with me."
"Divorced, huh?" Mrs. Bobby, also a wife of a first marriage, looked at Tanya with more sympathy and cursed, "Those homewreckers, they don’t deserve a good end! If I ever run into one, she’ll regret it! But it’s better to divorce early—the fly won’t stick to a seamless egg, so your husband is a rotten egg, and it’s better to throw him away. You go ahead, I’ll look after Caden and save a seat for you."
"Thank you."
Tanya glanced into the classroom; Caden was still sitting in his seat, but several kids were gathered around him, clearly popular with the class and not needing her attention.
Tanya then turned and quickly made her way to Abby’s class. She peered in through the corridor window and saw the children playing musical chairs inside.
Abby wasn’t among them; Tanya looked around and found her in a corner of the classroom.
Abby stood there all alone, the chair beside her reserved for parents was empty. But all the other kids had their parents with them. As a mother, Tanya felt a pang of heartache seeing her pitiful Abby like this.
At this moment, it seemed Abby sensed something and looked up to see Tanya in the hallway, her gloomy expression immediately turned bright as she happily waved.
Tanya smiled warmly and waved back.
"Tanya!" Suddenly, a familiar voice called from behind.
Tanya paused slightly and, when she turned around, the smile on her lips faded.
Vincent Hawthorne was walking over with Joy in tow, and Ms. Underwood was with them. Upon seeing Tanya, Ms. Underwood was pleasantly surprised.
"Mrs. Hawthorne, I was just asking Mr. Hawthorne why you hadn’t come today."
Hearing her called Mrs. Hawthorne, Tanya knew Vincent hadn’t mentioned their divorce.
Tanya looked at Ms. Underwood, calmly explaining, "Ms. Underwood, Vincent and I have been officially divorced for quite some time now. You can call me Ms. Sinclair."
"Oh, I see..." Ms. Underwood appeared a bit embarrassed.
"It hasn’t been that long," Vincent interjected, "According to current regulations, if we wanted to remarry now, this divorce could be nullified." As he said this, Vincent stared unblinkingly at Tanya.
Tanya had no intention of responding to him, simply ignoring his words and not even offering a direct glance.
After greeting Ms. Underwood, she redirected her focus to Joy.
To Tanya’s surprise, it seemed deliberate or accidental that Joy was wearing the dress Tanya had bought for her today.
"Joy," Tanya smiled, ready to say something, but Joy purposely avoided her gaze and urged Vincent.
"Dad, let’s go in quickly! It’s almost our turn in the musical chairs game, and I’m the group leader!"
Hmph!
She saw Tanya smile and was sure it was for Abby!
Since Tanya liked Abby so much, she should just be Abby’s mom! She didn’t care!
Joy dragged Vincent forward, but as she looked up, she suddenly spotted a very familiar figure walking toward her.
—It was Cindy Lynn, whom she hadn’t seen in a long time!
"Mommy Cindy!" Joy exclaimed excitedly. She broke free from Vincent’s hand and ran towards the approaching Cindy Lynn, feeling an inexplicable sense of satisfaction!
—See, if Tanya didn’t want to be her mom, someone else would!
She wasn’t an unloved child!
"Joy darling!" Cindy Lynn hugged Joy tightly, appearing just like a real mother and daughter.
"Ahem, I’ll head inside first," Ms. Underwood quickly excused herself from this crucible, stepping swiftly into the classroom.
Vincent hadn’t expected Cindy would dare to come, and his face darkened to the extreme. He glanced at Tanya, a bit guilty and seeking to explain.
"Tanya, don’t misunderstand..."
Tanya coldly retorted, "Vincent Hawthorne, I don’t care how much you love Cindy Lynn, but Joy is your daughter too! If you still consider yourself a person, don’t let her near Joy again! If you can’t do it, then give me custody of our daughter! I accept that Joy doesn’t love me, but the child I risked my life to bring into this world is not a tool for you and Cindy Lynn’s disgusting extramarital affair!"
