Yellow Court Daoist-Chapter 465 - 441: The Utmost of the East Sea, Seize a Treasure First!
Chapter 465: Chapter 441: The Utmost of the East Sea, Seize a Treasure First!
Bing Yi Daoist settled down, looking into the sky where Lu Qingfeng had escaped without a trace and spoke with a wry smile to Ancestor Master Guyue, "Bing Yi was careless, allowing that demon to exploit an opening and nearly causing a disaster, bringing shame upon our mentor and the Immortal Sect. I ask for our mentor’s punishment!"
Ancestor Master Guyue’s face was filled with anger, but he ignored Bing Yi Daoist.
Instead, he looked skyward.
Two streaks of tunneling light flashed from the east, arriving above Soldier Book and Treasure Sword Gorge in an instant, opposing Ancestor Master Guyue and Bing Yi Daoist from afar. freēwēbηovel.c૦m
One was a short, fat old man with a green face and a flowing beard, his belly hanging over his waist; the other was an elderly Daoist woman, white-haired and weathered, leaning on a cane.
They were none other than the Primordial Spirit Practitioner Yue Zhong of Qingmu Valley and Daoist Woman Miao Yi.
"What a skillful hand you have, Brother Guyue."
"In your own sect, even a newly arisen Primordial Spirit can’t be caught!"
Yue Zhong looked into the sky, then shifted his gaze to Ancestor Master Guyue, snorting coldly through his mouth and nose, his tone quite unfriendly.
Hearing this, Bing Yi Daoist slightly furrowed his brow, also giving Yue Zhong and Daoist Woman Miao Yi an unfriendly look.
But Ancestor Master Guyue just sighed and said, "The demon’s tactics are quite varied. Even with Xuan Venerate taking action, using the Cold Jade Pearl, it was broken through by his Demon Flame. I only had the Heart Silkworm Divine Net which could barely trap someone, forgetting that the demon had the Nine Heavens Cloud Breaking Charge left by Yuu Mountain Daoist. I was not vigilant for a moment, and he escaped!"
Huff puff!
The Cold Jade Turtle beside them puffing out cold breaths from its nostrils, still appeared nonchalant.
"The monk flees but the temple remains!"
"His energy is exposed."
"This old man wants to see where that demon can flee to!"
Yue Zhong glanced at Ancestor Master Guyue and the Cold Jade Turtle, snorting coldly inside, speaking in a chilling voice.
The next moment.
He shot up into the sky and vanished into the Gang Wind.
Daoist Woman Miao Yi, lingering behind, apologized with a smile to Ancestor Master Guyue, "Please forgive my brother Yue’s impulsive nature, Brother Guyue."
"Sigh!"
Ancestor Master Guyue let out a long sigh, shaking his head.
Daoist Woman Miao Yi also transformed into Xuan Light and disappeared.
In Soldier Book and Treasure Sword Gorge.
Seeing Yue Zhong and Daoist Woman Miao Yi both leaving, the Cold Jade Turtle shook its head, turning around and slowly made its way back to the depths of Chengyang River. Having lived for tens of thousands of years, and having seen all sorts of spectacles, it was indifferent, with not a ripple in its heart.
In the gorge.
Bing Yi Daoist watched the two pursue Lu Qingfeng, his brow tightly furrowed, "Qingmu Valley is becoming more arrogant. Yue Zhong may seem rough but is calculating inside, speaking so unpleasantly!"
The Seven Gorges Immortal Sect is of one root and same branch.
But after all, they watch out for their own interests, and petty frictions and underhanded struggles are common, just not openly so.
Qingmu Valley was mighty, with nine Primordial Spirits, neither increasing nor decreasing.
And even counting the two Primordial Spirit demon beasts, the Cold Jade Turtle and the Vajra Long-Armed Ape, Ten Thousand Beasts Immortal Mountain had only four Primordial Spirits.
Compared to Qingmu Valley, the difference was vast.
One strong, the other weak.
Naturally, they couldn’t be harmonious.
"It doesn’t matter."
"Changqingzi took on the Yellow Robe and received the legacy from Yuu Mountain Daoist, obtained the Green Wood King Ding, Qingmu Valley will have to deal with that. This lad truly is enigmatic, possessing a great secret, and in just a mere thirty years, he has deciphered the twenty-fifth Star Constellation Tablet. I fear it won’t be easy for Qingmu Valley to restrain him."
"We should just sit back and watch; it would be better for our Xiling Gorge not to crowd into the fray."
Ancestor Master Guyue’s voice was clear and forceful.
He fiddled with the Bai Geng Ring on his hand, the earlier anger on his face long gone. As he spoke, he strode back to his cave abode, truly dismissing the matter.
Bing Yi Daoist stood in place, "In at most five hundred years, Mentor will ascend, having long since become detached from the ways of the world. Five hundred years later, Ten Thousand Beasts Immortal Mountain will have me as the sole Primordial Spirit Practitioner. There will be much hardship ahead, and we can ill afford to squander resources."
His mind preoccupied, Bing Yi Daoist glanced into the sky one last time, then with a sweep of his big sleeve, he too returned to his cave abode.
...
Within the Gang Wind Layer.
Lu Qingfeng, utilizing the ’Nine Heavens Cloud Breaking Charge,’ sped through wrapped in Gang Wind, moving as swift as a startled swan, covering tens of thousands of miles in a blink.
Now that his identity was exposed, he no longer needed to hide the magic artifacts he had obtained from Yuu Mountain Daoist and could openly use them. In a way, this also freed Lu Qingfeng from his previous restraints.
"With my current strength, I don’t even need to fear Qingmu Valley."
"However, I should not linger in the Nine Waters and Seven Gorges."
"If a battle is to be had, it should be in the East Sea."
Lu Qingfeng was neither panicked nor frightened.
Thirty years had flown by in the blink of an eye.
On the one hand, he cultivated in "Primordial," gaining more Scattered Characters, enhancing his cultivation and Dao ability. On the other hand, he practiced within Bai Geng Dark Star.
Mountains of Spirit Stones were being consumed continuously.
Lu Qingfeng’s cultivation was also rising rapidly.
In just thirty years, he had gone from approaching the mid-stage of Void Core to the peak of Solid Pill and True Body refinement, just one step away from entering the Gathering Law Realm.
Such speed of cultivation was truly astounding, at least three to five times faster than his previous steady progression!
However, as quickly as his cultivation advanced, the consumption was terrifying. In thirty years, not only were all the Spirit Stones and Spiritual Pearls in Bai Geng Ring used by Ancestor Master Guyue refined by Lu Qingfeng, but the Spirit Stones and Spiritual Pearls from the nineteen treasure mountains called forth by the Snow Soul Pearl from the Cold Jade Turtle were also exhausted.
Adding to Lu Qingfeng’s previous savings, and the recent earnings managed by his avatar with the Green Wood King Ding, they were nearly depleted.
At this rate, in another two to three years, Lu Qingfeng would be destitute.
However, according to Lu Qingfeng’s calculations, two to three years were enough for him to ascend to the Gathering Law Realm. By then, he would need to venture out, searching for Earth Evil Yin Veins and Heavenly Gang Qi, Condensing Evil and Refining Gang for his Gathering Law Realm cultivation.
While he cultivated, he would also accumulate Spirit Stones.
Once the Gang Sha was successfully refined, there would be no further delay; he could return to the Bai Geng star for arduous cultivation.
Alas, man’s plans can’t rival the heavens.
"Well then!"
"Let’s have a showdown with Green Wood Valley after all!"
Lu Qingfeng piloted his Nine Heavens Cloud Breaking Charge, fleeing straight to the west. Glancing back, he saw two auras, distant and somewhat hazy yet clear, doggedly trailing him without respite.
A chill shimmered in Lu Qingfeng’s eyes.
Thirteen days later.
Lu Qingfeng had traversed millions of miles, traversing the Spirit Extinguishing Land west of the Crying Swamp, spanning the boundless expanse without pause. Soaring through the air, he seemed to pierce through a thin membrane. As space whirled chaotically and upturned, he reappeared amidst an endless sea.
...
The East Sea stretched vast and majestic, with surging waves and awe-inspiring grandeur. Nature’s wonders were on full display, with all things of creation showcasing their profound mystery.
The East Sea, situated at the easternmost point of the Three Mountains and Nine Waters, as opposed to the Spirit Extinguishing vastness at the extreme west, should have been countless miles away. Yet, with just a step, he went from south to north.
From the Extreme West, in an instant, he arrived at the East Sea.
"Jinshan!"
Upon entering the East Sea, Lu Qingfeng didn’t stop and headed directly to a Sea Immortal Mountain in the eastern region of the East Sea.
Where all islands come to an end, it is called Jinshan!
This place lay at the East Extreme of the East Sea. Eastward lay the turbulent and chaotic sea realm. Even a Jiedan True Man venturing within would lose direction, swept away by gales, battered by waves, and pulverized by thunder.
Only a Primordial Spirit True One could enter.
But even after a prolonged stay, they would still find it difficult to endure and would have to retreat.
Hence, it was seldom visited by humans.
The precipitous peaks of Jinshan stretched tall and high, spanning across the Qingming.
The mountain fell abruptly from its waist into the sea, forming steep cliffs rising hundreds of feet, stretching for three hundred miles. The coastal scenery was fantastically spectacular - it was soul-stirring.
The deep sea azure birthed a chill, stone walls plunged into the sea, boulders lay sprawling at the cliff edge, with rocks standing as if swords thrust and daggers poised; shrubs, wild grass, and mountain flowers fell from high slopes, clinging to the rock face.
Below the cliffs, thunder roared continuously, shaking the mountain at its base.
Boulders crashed, floating amongst the azure waves; rock gaps and chasms, with white waves spewing forth.
Around Jinshan, several dozen large and small islands spanned.
By the time Lu Qingfeng arrived, a great array had already been raised both inside and outside Jinshan. There was a Daoist presiding over the center of the formation, with generals in armor and Daoists in Daoist robes positioned atop various islands.
Some held swords and spears; others shook big flags.
Swords pointed to the heavens, banners fluttered in the breeze.
Between heaven and earth, winds converged, thunder sparked. Bolts of lightning crisscrossed within and outside the array, sweeping through and colliding with the two figures outside the array.
One of them, a red-faced man, wielded a Star Sand Sword.
When deployed, it resembled a waterfall made of countless rice-sized starry specks, merging and separating at will, endless in creation - indeed, he was a force to be reckoned with, marvelously mysterious.
Boom!
The luminous rainbow of the sword light shattered myriads of thunderbolts, striking the great array continuously.
The formation roared.
The main array Daoist remained expressionless, but the generals and Daoists in the supporting array were flushed, evidently under unimaginable pressure. One by one, whether their blood roiled or their aura was abstruse, they were unlike ordinary Immortal Daoist Practitioners.
Their cultivation was equivalent to that of an Immortal Daoist.
But the red-faced Daoist outside was too strong, and even within the array, they were merely struggling to hold on.
Besides the red-faced Daoist.
Outside Jinshan, there was a peculiar-looking one-eyed youth with a broken blade in hand; his random chops landed on the array, cleaving open many of the thunderbolts.
This caused the array to fluctuate.
"Huo Shanzi!"
"Feng Hanzi!"
At the East Sea’s edge, a loud sound carried across.
The ears of the red-faced Daoist Huo Shanzi and the one-eyed youth Feng Hanzi exploded with the sound, then they saw beyond the East Extreme, a Golden Carriage roaring forth, descending from Above Nine Heavens.
Two Demon Gods, one before the other, escorted it. A Daoist clad in a Profound Green Daoist robe stood at the center, and above his head, Five-colored light glittered like an Ancient Divine Mountain, stirring and trembling the land.
It swiped fiercely toward the starry waterfall rainbow formed by the countless rice-sized starry specks outside the formation!
"Hmm?!"
Huo Shanzi’s red face trembled as he recognized the newcomer, "Changqingzi!"
"How dare you come!"
Huo Shanzi saw and furiously narrowed his eyes, fingers forming a sword technique, ready to sweep the starry river over to attack Lu Qingfeng. The Jinshan Formation was resilient; he and Feng Hanzi had been bombarding it for three days, yet were still at a deadlock. Now, with Lu Qingfeng outside, Huo Shanzi immediately switched targets, determined to capture Lu Qingfeng first.
"Demon, meet your demise!"
He bellowed.
But in the next instant.
He saw the Five-colored light filling the sky, shaking down from Nine Heavens.
"The Five-Colored Divine Light!"
Huo Shanzi’s heart flipped, considering this technique peculiar and not to be taken lightly. He reached out, and the waterfall made of rice-sized starry specks of light coalesced into a Star Sand Sword, which he was about to grasp.
But how swift was the Five-Colored Divine Light?
With its appearance, it quickly descended.
The Star Sand Sword had barely formed, and before Huo Shanzi could touch it, the Divine Light had already descended upon him.
