Chapter 140: Don’t you dare touch my kill!

Ethan glanced at her serious expression and realized they wouldn’t make love until he learned to swim today, and he almost cursed aloud at missing his chance—unless he could learn to swim faster, maybe there was still a shot.

Eva wasn’t aware of his thoughts and pulled him into the stream, "Since you’re already comfortable in the water, I’ll teach you...." Eva began explaining and calmly guiding him through the water.

Ethan cleared his mind of distractions and focused on her teaching. Over time, he gradually learned to float, hold his breath, and perform basic strokes to swim forward a little.

His hands and legs ached after hours of practice. He turned to the side and saw Eva bathing on the other side.

Beads of water slide down her pale back, disappearing at her waistline, which looks smaller and curves sensually under the haze of the evening light, shimmering on the water’s surface.

Ethan’s throat went dry as he glimpsed the curve of her breasts when she turned slightly. He didn’t realize when he started floating toward her, but before he could reach...

"Are you guys done with your bath?! Dinner is served already!" Aaron’s abrupt shout snapped Ethan out of his daze, and he tsked under his breath, feeling Aaron must have interrupted on purpose.

Upon hearing the word food, Eva quickly rinsed her body and hair, then took a bath, her stomach growling in response.

"I’m coming! Tell the chef to add more meat! I’m starving!" Eva shouted, but received no reply. Aaron had already left.

Turning to the side, she accidentally caught Ethan’s wrong expression, and Eva remembered what they had planned to do before she started teaching him how to swim, and a flash of guilt flickered in her eyes.

"Tonight, I’ll wait for you in my tent," Eva promised and rushed quickly to the shore, her face so red like a ripe tomato.

"You promised!" Ethan called after her, a satisfied smile lighting up his face, and he couldn’t wait for dinner to be over.

Eva ignored him and grabbed the change of clothes he brought back with the soap. She quickly put on the pants and crop top and squeezed the excess water out of her hair before turning to Ethan.

"Wipe that grin off your face or I’ll change my mind." Eva threatened in what she thought was a serious expression, not realizing she looked cute in Ethan’s eyes.

He suppressed his grin, but his eyes still gleamed brightly as he swam to the shore. He emerged from the water slowly, enjoying Eva’s momentarily dazed expression as she looked at him.

He cleaned himself, the towel gliding over his firm shoulders and sliding shyly down his abs.

Eva drooled, wishing she were the towel sliding on his skin. Her hand moved instinctively, nearly reaching his chest. Her mind cleared, and upon meeting his smug smile, she instantly knew he was trying to seduce her.

"You!" Eva yelled, dashing through the trees with a red face full of embarrassment, nearly stumbling as Ethan’s deep laughter echoed behind her.

During their meal, Eva ignored Ethan until she became immersed in the food’s flavor, forgetting she was supposed feel embarrassed.

While Eva and the others enjoyed a cozy dinner, her cousins were engaged in a fierce fight with two giant pigs.

"Why is everything so damn huge in this place?! How do they expect humans to survive when we look like dwarves in front of every beast we face!" Daniel hollered as he dodged the beast’s horn. His own beast slashed its claws across the creature, leaving a deep gash on its back.

The beast let out a sharp squeal of pain, thrashing around with a grunt. Then the pig lifted its hoof and was about to stomp on Daniel, but Alex pulled him out just in time.

"Stop whining and focus," Alex chided him with a frown before shooting an arrow directly into the beast’s eyes, successfully wounding it.

The giant pig had a healthy pink body, looking mouthwatering—tempting enough if it weren’t so dangerous and challenging to kill.

The other three had already taken down the other pig with the help of their beasts, but did nothing to assist Alex and Daniel.

"You two must have been slacking off in your training—or else why would fighting this beast have nearly killed you!" Marvin called from the side, his tone tinged with disappointment. He had been watching them and noticed Daniel’s costly mistake.

His deep voice echoed through the clearing over the loud grunts of the pig, and Daniel snapped under Marvin’s harsh tone.

"Stop using that high-and-mighty tone just because you’re stronger and older!" Daniel snapped, irritated by Marvin’s sense of superiority, and unleashed his flames at the pig.

Fire blazed around him. Controlling the flames, he launched fireballs at the pig. They exploded on impact, engulfing the beast entirely. A sharp squeal and the harsh thud of its hooves echoed through the clearing as it roasted. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

Daniel dodged the rampaging beasts, intensifying his attack. The blue flame burned with fervor, lighting the surrounding trees, while smoke and the crackle of burning wood echoed through the clearing.

"You damn idiot! Don’t burn us along with the beast!" Adrian cursed, brushing a spark of fire off the tip of his brown hair.

He tore a rift in space and reappeared behind Daniel, delivering a hard smack to the back of his head.

"Tone it the f*CK down!" Adrian yelled into Daniel’s ears before his nose twitched at the mouthwatering roasted meat smell wafting through the clearing.

The others swallowed hard, their stomachs growling loudly, as they all stared at the burning pig, which had ceased its struggle and collapsed onto the ground with a heavy thud.

"I want to eat..." a blue-haired man muttered and gulped repeatedly under the overpowering smell of roasted meat filling the air—he dashed toward the roasted pig before any of them could react.

"Cole! Don’t you dare touch my kill! I roasted it myself, and I’ll be the one to eat it," Daniel yelled, and it was like a switch flipped. Everyone immediately moved, all dashing toward the roasted pig.

Alex used his speed to arrive before Cole. He sliced off a piece of meat with his dagger, nodded in satisfaction at its perfect roast, and took a bite.

"Hmm~" Alex moaned in surprise. Though the meat was unseasoned, it had a rich, natural flavor with a fresh taste—he could only imagine how delicious it would be once seasoned.

At the thought, Alex’s eating pace quickened as he eyed the other death pig at the side, mentally planning to take it with him—and he wasn’t the only one with such thoughts.

Five of them ate the pig like starving beasts, not fearing it might be poisonous; they concluded that since the air was pure, a beast breathing the same air couldn’t be that harmful to them.

"Daniel, your power has never been more useful than it is now." Cole’s muffled praise made the others nod in approval, except for Daniel, who was tempted to punch Cole in the face but held back and tore into the meat to vent his anger.

Time passed, and the five of them lay in the clearing with bulging stomachs, burping in satisfaction as they looked over their masterpiece—where the giant pig had once stood, now reduced to piles of bones, its innards still scattered nearby.

"Phew...I’m so full... I can’t even move." Adrian wheezed, his hand thrown over his bloated stomach as he looked at the moon high in the sky.

Marvin patted Daniel on the head with a smug smile. "If I hadn’t motivated you through anger, you wouldn’t have eaten such delicious, filling meat. You should be thanking me."

Daniel frowned at his touch. He raised his hand to punch the smug smile off his lips, but Marvin easily blocked it, as if he’d read his mind.

"Tsk, always so easily angered," Alex clicked his tongue, amused at how effortlessly Marvin got under Daniel’s skin.
