100 Days to Seduce the Devil-Chapter 928: Pulling the Trigger
Day Ninety-Nine...
Alexander and his men began searching for Hanabi. Spade used his tracking skills to locate her. After an hour, he finally found her location.
Boss! I’ve found her," Spade reported, his voice sharp with urgency. "She’s in a residential area not far from here. We’re in position and ready to move in. Just give the word. We’re waiting for your command."
He handed over the tablet, showing the live location pinned on the screen.
In the back seat of the car, Alexander sat in silence, his gaze fixed on the glowing device, but his expression unreadable. The tension in the vehicle was evident.
From the front seat, Jack glanced at him through the rearview mirror, watching closely.
"Boss?" Jack prompted cautiously. "What are your orders?"
"Catch her... Alive." Alexander finally gave his command.
Jack and Spade exchanged glances with one another. They sensed that Alexander put emphasis on the word "Alive".
’Is our boss hesitating to kill her?’ Jack pondered to himself.
The two men delivered Alexander’s command to every man on the ground. They both stepped out of the car, heading to Hanabi’s location.
However, to their surprise, Alexander suddenly stepped out of the vehicle.
"Boss, what are you doing?" Jack called out, hurrying after him. "You should stay inside. We don’t know how many Sawada Clan members might be inside the building. It’s dangerous out there!"
Alexander didn’t even flinch.
"I’m coming with you," he said firmly, his voice as cold and steady as steel. "I’ll catch her myself."
His tone left no room for argument. The decision was made and final.
Jack and Spade met each other’s gazes once more, looking uneasy, but neither dared to stop him. They knew better than to stand in his way once his mind was set.
’Tch... if she dares to lay a finger on him,’ Jack thought, his eyes narrowing as he followed close behind. ’I’ll strike her down first.’
"Alexander’s safety is our priority!" Jack whispered to Spade.
Spade just nodded in agreement.
The three of them moved swiftly toward the building, flanked by elite members of the Red Dragon Mafia.
"The snipers are in position!" Jack reported, his voice steady as he kept his eyes on the building’s upper floors.
"She is in unit 444," Spade chimed in, checking the live feed from their surveillance drone. "No visible movement so far, but she’s definitely in there."
Alexander raised his hand, signaling everyone to halt. He pressed the button on his communication device, his tone calm but authoritative.
"Everyone, standby. Hold your positions and wait for my signal. No one moves until I give the order."
The building was surrounded by armed men. They gripped their weapons tightly, waiting for their leader’s further instructions.
Meanwhile, Alexander walked ahead, followed by Jack and Spade. They made sure to stay close, watching him as they stayed alert.
As they headed to unit 444, they couldn’t sense any presence of other members of the Sawada Clan.
"This is strange..." Jack muttered, his eyes scanning every corner of the hallway. "I can’t sense anyone else here, aside from us. The whole place feels deserted. Even the hallway is empty. Did she anticipate our arrival? Are they hiding somewhere? Or... is this a trap?"
He had his suspicion while his hand instinctively moved toward the weapon holstered at his side.
Alexander paused on his track when he heard that. They were just a few doors away from Unit 444.
He didn’t respond right away. He just cautiously observed their surroundings and listened to any noise. However, the silence was very unsettling.
"Proceed with caution," Alexander said to them as a warning.
Despite the danger that lay ahead, Alexander was still having conflicting thoughts. He couldn’t wait to know Hanabi’s motive for kidnapping his grandpa.
"Boss, let me go first. You should stay behind me," Jack volunteered as soon as they reached the door of Unit 444.
However, Alexander shook his head, rejecting his offer. "No. I’ll go first."
He was about to turn the doorknob when Spade stopped him.
"You’re our leader. Your safety is our top priority!" Spade said urgently, stepping closer to Alexander. "We can’t allow you to put yourself at risk like this." Spade could no longer tolerate Alexander’s stubbornness.
"Hanabi isn’t just anyone. She’s one of the most skilled operatives in the entire Sawada Clan. If she catches you off guard... she could kill you in an instant." He reminded him, putting emphasis on Hanabi’s capability.
Spade’s eyes met Alexander’s eyes. "You know I’ll follow you into any battlefield without hesitation, but this? You’re walking straight into the lion’s den. Let us handle the danger. Please, listen to us for once. Step back," he begged him desperately.
Alexander narrowed his eyes at Spade’s words. He could feel his genuine concern for him. But he couldn’t comply with his request. He wanted to confront Hanabi personally. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
"Spade," Alexander mumbled, grabbing Spade’s shoulders. "Nothing bad will happen to me. I’m also a trained fighter, before I became your new leader. I’m not going to die easily. Besides, you are also accompanying me inside."
Spade and Jack could only heave a sigh of defeat.
Without further ado, Alexander stepped forward and turned the knob. The door creaked open slowly under his hand.
He pushed the door wide, and the three of them entered with silent precision, only to be greeted by the chilling sight of Hanabi standing at the center of the room, her gun already drawn and aimed directly at them.
"Well, you’re finally here," Hanabi said with a cold smirk, her eyes glinting with amusement.
In an instant, Jack and Spade raised their weapons, stepping protectively in front of Alexander.
"Drop the weapon, Hanabi," Jack warned. "You can’t escape from us now. This building is already surrounded by our men."
"If you want to stay alive, tell us where you hid Alexander’s grandpa?!" Spade also spoke up, interrogating Hanabi.
Hanabi just let out a sarcastic laugh, maintaining her cold and indifferent aura. "Just shoot me then. Because you will never see Mr. Wayne again."
She glanced at Alexander with a challenging look on her face. She was deliberately provoking him. However, he stood silently, rooted to the spot, his piercing eyes locked onto hers. There was no rage in his expression, only a quiet intensity that spoke volumes... seeking an answer.
Alexander’s silence and penetrating gaze made her more unsettled. Hanabi’s confident facade began to crack. The longer he stared, the heavier the weight of her guilt became.
Unable to bear the look in his eyes, she quickly shifted her gaze away.
’Damn it! Endure this, Hanabi. Everything will end once they pull the trigger,’ she murmured to herself.
"Why did you take my grandpa? Tell me the reason why you did this." Alexander’s deep voice echoed inside the unit as he broke his silence.
He demanded answers. Part of him wanted to understand Hanabi’s actions.
At that moment, Hanabi chuckled once more. She decided to give him the answer he was seeking.
"Fine. I’ll tell you." Hanabi took a deep sigh.
"Your grandpa is the one who called the hit on our clan leader’s wife. My sister Jane lost her mother because of your grandpa. He had to pay for his crime."
Alexander was dumbfounded upon hearing that.
"I’m also here to kill you as part of our revenge," Hanabi added as she pulled the trigger.
Bang!
Bang!
