Affinity: Chaos-Chapter 1834: None Of Interest
Grey slipped into a state of cultivation once again, shutting himself out from whatever was taking place outside.
A month went by in a flash without Grey taking a single step out of the cultivation chamber. On this day, the door to Grey's cultivation chamber opened with him walking out from the room. His aura was much more profound compared to when he entered this retreat. He broke through to the Seventh stage of the Sovereign Plane a few days after entering retreat, but decided to spend the rest of the time consolidating his cultivation while also practicing the spatial technique he recently acquired. The thought of being able to send things into space was thrilling, but reality proved to be a little complicated. When Grey tried out the technique the first time, its attack power was equivalent to a First stage Sovereign. It has been three weeks or so now, and the attack power is still only equal to a First stage Sovereign! Luckily, the attack speed has increased.
The technique sounds amazing, but its biggest drawback was its speed. A Venerable would've been able to dodge the attack given its previous speed. But after three weeks of consistent practice, Grey was confident that even a Fourth stage Sovereign would not be able to evade it. Of course, the attack power is still only equivalent to a First stage Sovereign. There is only so much he could do, he knew if he wanted to improve it, he would have to be patient.
Tossing the thought of the spatial technique to the back of his head, he decided to explore this place. According to Void and the bunny leader, they felt something strange about this Manor hence the reason they reported it to him. If not for their encounter with the Peak Sovereign Elemental Warrior, he would've investigated this place immediately after they left the underground cave. Now that he was free, it was time to find out just what attracted this Void and the bunny leader to this place.
A few hours later, Grey stared at the affinity stone standing in the middle of a secret room with a frown. The moment he laid eyes on the affinity stone, he felt a vague yet familiar feeling. He slowly started probing around and soon discovered why he had a faint sense of familiarity. Under this affinity stone was a beast core, just like the one in the McCall Manor, only, this one didn't have any strings attached to it, while giving off an even greater aura than the one he acquired in the McCall Manor.
He quickly retrieved the beast core. This wasn't the first time he was handling it, so it didn't take as long as the first time. In a short time, he kept the beast core in his space ring.
"What's the deal with these cores?"
Grey's interest had been piqued from the start, so seeing something related to it again in an abandoned Manor, he couldn't help but wonder who placed them there and what was the purpose behind it. Whatever it was, he knew that it was a horrible technique that would limit the growth of an entire Family.
Any Family or Faction with this strange beast core residing in their affinity stones will surely all eventually meet their end unless they leave their Faction grounds or Family Manor. Unless under the threat of complete annihilation, no Faction or Family will readily desert their homes of hundreds or even thousands of years.
Taking away the beast core, there was nothing else of interest in the Manor. Grey didn't waste any time, leaving as soon as possible. He had already spent about three months or so here, and according to their instructions, they could only stay here for one year.
Grey spent a few more days in the mountain range before deciding to leave. He tried to look around if he would see another abandoned Manor, but the ones he found weren't abandoned like the previous one, rather, they were mostly in ruins. This didn't deter him, any Manor he sees on the way, no matter the condition, he would take out time to inspect it.

Aurora Continent.

Lucas was currently seated with his wife sitting opposite him with a calm expression.
"What decision did they come to?" Martha asked, breaking the silence.
Lucas took a long look at his wife and sighed, "Some people will be sent to intercept the group if the information is true."
Lucas picked up the tea from his table and asked with a smile, "Would you like to join them on the journey to the Azure Continent? This will be a good opportunity for you to visit Red City."
"Are they sending any top experts?" Martha raised a brow. It has only been a few months since the Gnomes started to make appearances in the Aurora Continent once again. With the threat of the Gnomes reemerging, most of the hidden ancient Factions and Families had resurfaced. Along with these Factions and Families came vital information from the war thousands of years ago. According to this information, a part of the Aurora Continent was forcibly ripped off by an expert who was seemingly on the verge of becoming a God Plane Elementalist at the time.
The part of the Continent that was ripped off is precisely the place where the Gnomes' largest and most stable passage to their world. This expert didn't only ripped out this large mass of land, he also burnt his life essence as a means to seal the passage from the Gnome world to their world.
This mass of land later became the Azure Continent, the place the duo ran off to. They recently received intel that the Gnomes were reportedly planning to launch an attack, and their target was the place where the seal was located.
Lucas chuckled and shook his head, "None that will interest you."
"Then I'm not going." Martha replied offhandedly, her voice softened as she asked, "When did you say Grey will return again?"
"Sir Astarot said they'll stay there for a year, so in eight months." Lucas replied after some calculations.
