Alpha's Bite Between My Legs-Chapter 547: The Horse Kick
Lucia stared at Gastone in disbelief. "You want me, a girl, to help you carry that large man?
Gastone raised an eyebrow, "A girl? You?"
Lucia crossed her arms. "Why, don’t you think I’m a girl?"
"No," Gastone chuckled. "I believe you’re a woman rather than a girl." 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
Lucia opened her mouth to speak, but no words came out. Her face blushed as she thought Gastone saw her as a real woman instead.
"So are you going to help me or not?" Gastone said with a smirk. He knew how his words affected Lucia, and he liked it.
"Alright!" Lucia sneered to cover up her embarrassment.
Together, they dragged Joseph toward the bed, his limp body bouncing comically every time Gastone’s patience ran thin.
"Be careful with his head!" Lucia scolded as Joseph’s arm flopped off the edge of the bed.
"I am careful," Gastone muttered, shoving Joseph onto the mattress like an oversized sack of flour. "There. He’s alive, isn’t he?"
Joseph let out a faint groan, rolling to one side.
"See?" Gastone dusted off his hands. "Healthy as ever."
Lucia sighed, shaking her head but smiling despite herself. "You’re impossible."
Gastone turned toward Lucia, and his expression softened for the first time since the door opened. "Come on. I’ll show you to another room. You shouldn’t stay here."
Gastone led Lucia down a quiet corridor, his footsteps heavy but slower than usual, almost hesitant.
Lucia followed closely, her fingers brushing the stone walls. She felt her heart flutter from earlier, but she forced herself to keep her voice steady.
"Gastone..." Lucia said quietly.
Gastone glanced at her. "Hm?"
"You really didn’t have to punch him," Lucia stated softly.
Gastone looked away, his jaw tightening. "...I know."
Lucia tilted her head, studying Gastone’s profile in the dim light. "But you did anyway, because you were jealous."
Gastone exhaled, almost a sigh, and after a pause admitted, "Yes."
Lucia bit her lip, hiding a smile. She loved how his voice lowered when he was being honest, as if he hated exposing too much but couldn’t lie to her either.
At last, Gastine stopped before a wooden door and pushed it open. Inside was a guest chamber lit by the faint glow of lanterns, warm and far more inviting than she expected.
Lucia stepped inside, turning to face him with a playful smile. "So, do I have to worry about you punching anyone else who gets too close to me?"
Gastone leaned against the doorframe, his arms crossed but his eyes softer than before. "...Only if they don’t know when to back off."
Lucia chuckled, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. "You’re really hopeless, you know that?"
Gastone tilted his head, studying her in silence for a moment. Then, with the faintest ghost of a smile tugging his lips, he said, "Hopeless for you."
Lucia froze, heat rushing up her cheeks. His witty reply tangled in her throat, leaving her completely flustered.
Gastone seemed satisfied with Lucia’s silence, his rare smile deepening just a little before he stepped back. "Rest. I’ll be outside."
And with that, Gastone closed the door gently behind him, leaving Lucia to collapse onto the bed, clutching her pillow, her face burning as she whispered to herself—
"...Hopeless for me."
The morning sun slipped through the curtains, painting soft gold across the room. Joseph groaned, his head pounding like a drum as he slowly blinked awake.
"Ugh..." Joseph clutched his cheek, wincing. "Did a horse kick me last night?"
From the chair by the window, Gastone—arms crossed, legs stretched out—lifted a brow. "Close enough."
Joseph’s eyes snapped open. He froze at the sight of Gastone looming like a stone gargoyle, clearly having sat guard the entire night.
"YOU—!" Joseph pointed accusingly. "You knocked me out!"
Lucia hurried in at that exact moment with a tray of bread and tea. "Oh, good, you’re awake!"
Joseph turned to her with teary eyes. "Lucia, your... your jealous caveman nearly murdered me!"
Gastone muttered under his breath, "You’re still alive, aren’t you?"
Lucia shot Gastone a look, then set the tray down. "Joseph, stop being dramatic. He only hit you once."
"Once!? I flew!" Joseph protested, throwing his arms up. "I saw my ancestors waving at me before I landed!"
Lucia couldn’t help it—she burst into laughter, covering her mouth. "Okay, that’s... actually kind of impressive."
Gastone, meanwhile, leaned back smugly. "See? Even she admits it."
Joseph’s jaw dropped. "You’re proud of it?!"
Lucia sighed and tried to keep the peace. "Joseph, Gastobe didn’t mean to go that far. He was just... jealous."
Joseph blinked. Then slowly, a mischievous smile spread across his face. "Ohhhh. I see how it is."
"What? "Lucia exclaimed loudly. She seemed rather anxious and scared.
Joseph frowned, studying Lucia’s face. "Did something happen while I was knocked out?" His voice sounded playful, but his eyes showed sadness.
"What? No!" Lucia screamed a little bit too loudly. "Nothing happened! Don’t think too much about it. Here, drink some tea." She handed Joseph a cup of tea.
Lucia breathed deeply while trying to compose herself.
"You’re doing too much," Gastone stated after observing how they communicated, and he didn’t like it at all.
Lucia’s eyes snapped at Gastone. She didn’t say a word, but when her stare met his, Gastone looked away to prevent her from getting angry at him.
On the other hand, Joseph sipped his tea while looking at them silently. The room was silent, and it was getting a bit awkward.
"So, what should we do now? Should we just stay here the whole day?" Joseph broke the silence with a question.
Gastone sighed heavily. He stood up from his seat with a stressed expression. Dark circles surrounded his eyes, and he looked so tired.
"I have something to do. You two can stay here, but don’t leave, or we will be in trouble." Gastone warned them, looking intently.
"Can I come with you?" Lucia asked excitedly, but she just wanted to spend time with Gastone.
