Chapter 102: Shocking Thoughts of the Gods
"UUUARROOOOOOGHHHH!!!"
The sudden shout of the Savrit Spider and the disgusting smell of burning that began to form in the arena showed that Atlas’ plan had worked quite effectively.
The colours of the flames surprised everyone watching the arena from the outside. Every single person who had started cheering at the sight of the flames instantly shut up and fell silent.
Atlas looked up at the sky and then said, "Sorry master, I completely forgot to tell you those other stuff."
Cordelia’s eyes widened as she watched from outside the arena. There was no way this couldn’t have happened.
The colours of the flames coming out of the runes created by Atlas were red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, white and black.
Even the yellow flame itself, which had the ability to heal, obeyed its owner and continued to burn the monster inside the rune.
Cordelia was not the only one surprised. Talon and Constantine couldn’t take it anymore and started laughing, the twins who were in the top two in the ranking lost their jealousy and started laughing seriously as if they were having fun.
Aether and Aelia started laughing along with the heads of the other three ducal houses, and Eva continued to watch Atlas with tears of pride in her eyes.
The mages in the Colosseum, including those who knew anything about the history of magic, were dumbfounded.
They were all aware that there had never been a mage in history who could use 8 Sacred Fires at once.
Atlas had apologised for that very reason. Even Cordelia herself had never encountered anything like this in her two million years of life, and perhaps in her long life of unknown history.
Even the great fire gods and goddesses Hephaestus, Hestia, Amaterasu, Agni and similar holy beings had tried to watch what was happening with their mouths open.
It did not make sense to anyone that a person, especially a human being, could carry such power in his body.
Some of the higher gods and goddesses seemed to have realised something.
Even Gaia and Chronos, who were right next to Nyx and her husband Erebus, were aware of what was happening. The time spell that had been cast upon the young man, the time spell that had been cast upon his soul, had turned the eyes of the trio to Chronos.
Atlas, however, was resting and watching the colourful flames at his service, close at hand, as he waited for his renewed mana and aura to come to him.
No colour of flame hurt Atlas even though he was at the bottom of it. It seemed as if Atlas was the only owner of the fire element on Earth.
"What now? All four of us realise that you are not the only one who sees what I see," Gaia complained. She was sitting in the blessed temple of Nyx and looking at the trio right next to her.
Nyx and Erebus, unable to answer this question, turned to Chronos.
Chronos shook his head as he realised this and said, "The young man has done a very foolish thing. I am well aware that we are not the only holy beings who have checked his soul to see if he is a god-born or not. To unleash such a power... And to carry crumbs of the time element in his soul..."
"Don’t play dumb with me, Chronos, we both know you’re the only one who can use that element, I demand an explanation!" Nyx suddenly complained, her face twisted as if she was a mother worried about her child.
Chronos stood where he was for a few seconds. He stared stoically at the monitoring screen open in front of him and then turned to Nyx and uttered the following words:
"My dear friend...I don’t remember casting such a spell."
After Ancient Time himself had spoken these words to Mother of the Night, the two looked at each other as if they were a puddle of stagnant water.
Not only the two of them but even Erebus and Gaia stood there, frowning. At that moment, Nyx stood up and shouted as if she was angry:
"ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!"
Nyx’s sudden shout shook Zeus, Hera, and even Thanatos and Moros, the other Chaos-Born outside the temple.
They didn’t dare wonder what had angered the High Goddess so much.
"Chronos!" Nyx muttered, putting her anger aside. Immediately afterwards, she took a deep breath and added the following words:
"My old friend, you are time itself. You are almost as old as I am and have not forgotten anything that has ever existed, who knows even the future, which is constantly branching and reaching different realities. How can you tell such a lie?"
Chronos shook his head from side to side after these words and then looked directly into Nyx’s eyes and replied, "I swear by my soul that such a thing does not exist in my memories and time."
Chronos’ words hit the trio next to him like a nail. None of them could understand what was going on.
"I think we should question Atlas," Chronos said.
Nyx sat back down after these words and said, "How? It is impossible to block the views of all the gods. It would be against the rules."
"Not if we ask your old man..." replied Chronos with a shrug.
Nyx and Erebus let out a deep breath, and then Erebus said, "It will be difficult. Even if he likes us a lot...Chaos is Chaos you know?"
Nyx shook her head and looked at Gaia, "Can you hold the other gods? You know...I don’t want Hyperion to go crazy."
Gaia took Nyx’s hand in hers and nodded, "Anything you want, sister."
"Alright...I’ll go consult with my father when this test is over, if he won’t give me the answers, at least block the footage," Nyx muttered.
The end of the test was going to have to wait. At least for them to get something.
