Chapter 128: Letter

After a short while, Atlas looked at Cordelia, who had finally come to him, and asked, "Are you going to tell me exactly why you left, my lady?"

There seemed to be a few things to listen to.

Cordelia rolled her eyes when she heard Atlas’ question and then said, "I may have given the King of Akairon a bit of a telling off. If you’re going somewhere, it has to be a little safe, after all."

Hearing these words, Atlas smiled and then looked at Cordelia rather angrily. The fact that someone like Cordelia was averting her eyes to avoid being scolded by Atlas was an incredibly funny sight.

Atlas exhaled as if he didn’t care anymore and muttered, "All right..."

With that, he sat back on the seat, then leaned back and said, "I plan to leave tomorrow."

At Atlas’ words, the other Sages turned to each other and exchanged glances.

"Are you sure you don’t want us to come with you?" Cordelia asked.

"Yes," replied Atlas.

With that, there was a sudden knock on the door to Cordelia’s room and it opened.

Elise herself walked in with a parcel and then, to put it bluntly, started to look at Atlas angrily.

While everyone was trying to figure out what was going on, Elise bowed respectfully to the Sages and then handed Atlas the package and said, "You could have told us earlier that it was your birthday, you know that, right?"

With Elise’s words, each of the Sages in the room was surprised and, to put it bluntly, excited.

However, Atlas’ words were enough to dampen their excitement:

"I don’t like birthdays."

Atlas’ words surprised Elise and the others even more, and Bellatrix couldn’t help but ask, "Is there a reason?"

Atlas looked carefully at the ancient woman and said, "My mother died giving birth to me. My father died of grief a week later. I am the reason why my sister has had so much difficulty so far, so why should I love the day I was born?" he answered and questioned.

When he said these words, everyone was silent for a while, and when Atlas realised this, he smiled and said, "The past is the past...No one celebrated my birthday except my sister." and opened the package from his sister.

Inside the package was a letter and a perfume bottle.

When Atlas took the letter and opened it, he smiled and then started to read the letter:

[My dear brother Atlas,

You are 16 years old and you have already achieved incredible success. Do you remember the promises you made when you were a child that you would protect me, your only sister, forever? Because I do. I took every moment of my life, every step I took and every breath I took, thinking of your safety, and now I can see that you don’t even need my help.

You have grown stronger, stronger than I could have ever imagined in a short amount of time. I’m proud of you and I’m incredibly proud of you and I hope you never forget it.

I sincerely congratulate you on your 16th birthday and I want you to know that our hearts are one and that I will always be with you on that dangerous journey you will embark on.

Your sister who will always love you, Eva Shorekeeper].

Atlas’s eyes were really teary. He was constantly swallowing and trying hard not to cry. It would be quite accurate to say that he was seriously choking.

He started blowing and puffing continuously.

"Gosh...It is impossible not to love her." he suddenly muttered and then took the perfume from the package.

On the back of the perfume was another note:

[You’re a nobleman now. If you don’t use this perfume, I’ll break your head.]

Atlas burst out laughing as he read the note and showed it to Cordelia, who was sitting in the seat next to him.

Cordelia smiled and then took the letter herself to read and read it aloud for all to hear.

"That Eva seems like a nice person," Cain muttered.

With those words, Atlas put the letter in his inventory with the perfume, then turned to Elise and said, "Thank you for bringing the package."

Immediately after that, he yawned and then realised that he was sleepy.

"I haven’t slept in a year," Atlas said instantly.

"And you want to leave like this?" Juliet questioned.

Atlas shrugged his shoulders and stood up, saying, "Well, there’s nothing to do." After a short yawn, he said, "If any of you have nothing to say, I need to go and get ready. I’m planning to use a direct teleportation setup, and I’ll be leaving for the kingdom this evening."

Cordelia nodded and then said, "All right. As long as you’re careful, it doesn’t matter what you do, you can go."

After Atlas had left the room with Elise, Cordelia turned to the Sages and questioned, "So, which of you, other than Cassandra, is willing to follow Atlas secretly?"

After Cordelia’s words, Bellatrix looked at her carefully and said, "I thought you said you trusted him, my lady? Atlas would be very upset to hear that."

Cordelia frowned and said, "I’m not going to watch my only student being put in danger, one of you will go, we’ll just choose who."

However, Juliet suddenly raised her hand and said, "I’ll do it. I have nothing to do these days anyway. Considering that Atlas’s journey will take a month or two at most, it shouldn’t be a problem for me."

With these words of the ancient woman, Cordelia nodded as if she understood, then said, "You should be as secretive as possible, Juliet. Atlas will probably visit the king. After all, the fact that I’ve already been there has opened the door to a diplomatic meeting. On top of that, if a duke of the Epsilon Empire goes there, the small kingdom of Akairon will worship Atlas."

Juliet suddenly stood up as if she understood, and then quickly left the room by saying, "Then I leave with your permission to prepare."

It was very close to the beginning of the journey.
